  • For the purpose of improving the stopband characteristics, the filter structure having single or double inserted metal plates in the waveguide of a reduced width have been widely stdudied so far. Usually such structures have a waveguide junction discontinuity between two waveguides of different widths. In designing such structures, we should always minimize the insertion loss due to the juction discontinuity. Besides it is difficult to fabricate the junction with desired accuracy. Here we consider new structure of tripple metal insert filter without the junction discontinuity problem, which is more suitable for mass production. An optimization procedure is taken with manufacturing error 0.1mm of inserted metal length. The theory agrees well with experimental data. so, it is show that fabrication of triple metal insert filter is more profitabel by optimization process.

금속선을 삽입한 고체 추진제의 연소 특성 연구

  • HTPB/AP/Al이 기본 조성인 ADP 302 혼합형 추진제를 대상으로 4종의 금속선(Ag, Cu, Al, Ni-Cr)을 삽입하여 금속선 직경(0.1mm~0.8mm)별로 압력에 따른 금속선과 인접한 추진제의 연소 속도($r_w)를 측정하여 금속선 삽입 추진제의 연소 속도 증가비($r_w$/$r_sb$)와 압력 지수( n )의 변화를 고찰한 결과 금속선 종류에 따른 연소 속도 증가비($r_w$/$r_sb$)는 Ag> Cu>Al>Ni-Cr선을 삽입한 추진제의 순으로 나타났고 금속선의 열확 산 계수의 크기순과 일치하였다. Buckingham $\pi$ 이론을 적용한 무차원 해석으로부터 실험식을 구하여, 이 실험식에 의해 계산된 ($r_w)와 실험으로부터 얻어진 ($r_w)를 서로 비교하여 본 결과 잘 부합됨을 알 수 있었다. 또한 금속선 수에 따른 추진제 그레인의 연소 면적을 해석적으로 계산하여,($r_w$/$r_sb$)가 2, 3, 4, 5 배로 증가함에 따른 시간에 따른 연소 면적 증가비의 변화를 금속선 수에 따라서 비교하여 본 결과 정상 상태에서의 그레인의 연소 면적의 증가비($A_b$/$A_0$)는 금속선에 인접한 추진제의 연소 속도 증가비($r_w$/$r_sb$)와 일치했으며, 정상 상태의 연소 면적 증가비는 삽입된 금속선의 수와는 무관하며 정상 상태에 도달하는 시간에만 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났다.

Characterisrics of the Ag System Insert Metal Produced by Powder Mixing Process (분말 혼합 공정으로 만들어진 은계 삽입금속의 특성)

  • Powder type Ag system insert metals were manufactured by ball milling process. The variables of milling process were constant except the milling time. The milling times were selected for 24, 48 and 72 hours. The insert metals made by milling process were evaluated by performing scanning electron microscope, DSC(differential scanning calorimetry) analyses, spreading test and further in terms of wettability test. The selected insert metals that have the good characteristics compared to commercial insert metals were applied to make the brazed joints. The characterizations of those brazed joints were also conducted by microstructural observations. The results indicated that milling time of 48 hours for making powder type insert metals was the best condition showing the good spreadibility, low wetting angle. The brazed joints that applied the 48 hours milled insert metal were very sound condition indicating the stable microstructure in spite of containing small amount of porosity and the microhardness value of the joint was about 138VHN.

금속선을 삽입한 고체 추진제의 연소 특성

  • HTPB/AP/Al이 주성분인 2종의 혼합형 추진제를 대상으로 4종의 금속선(Ag, Cu, Al, Ni-Cr)윰 각각 삽입하여 금속선의 직경(0.1~0.8mm)과 연소 압력에 따른 금속선에 인접한 고체 추진제의 연소 속도 증가비($r_w$/$r_sb$)와 압력 지수(n)의 변화를 고찰하였다. 금속선을 추진제에 삽입함으로써 추진제의 $r_w$/$r_sb$ 는 크게 중가하였고, 1000 psia의 압력에서의 최대 6.59배 증가하였다. 그러나 녹는 점이 비교적 낮은 Al 선이나 Ag선은 금속선 직경이 작아짐에 따라 한계 직경에서 $r_w$가 급격히 감소하는 최대값이 존재하였다. 자연 발화 온도와 금속선으로 전달되는 열원인 연소 기체 불꽃 온도로 구성된 무차원군을 Buckingham pi 정리에 의해 구해진 $r_w$/$r_sb$ 에 대한 기존의 무차원 실험식에 추가로 적용하여 계산해 본 결과, 자연 발화 온도는 고려하지 않고 금속선의 녹는 점과 연소 기체의 불꽃 온도를 무시한 Hsing 의 실험식에 의해 계산된 결과보다 표준 편차가 45%이상 줄어듬을 알 수 있었다.

Characteristics of the Brazed Joint between Superhard Alloy Particles and Carbon Steel Using BAg System Insert Metals. (은계(BAg) 삽입금속으로 접합된 초경합금 입자와 탄소강 브레이징부의 특성)

  • This study was carried out to evaluate brazing characteristics of the braze joint between superhard alloy particles and carbon steel. Two types of insert metals that made by mechanical alloying process were selected for this study. One is composed of Cu, Zn and Ag(MIM-1) and the other one is composed of Cu, Zn, Ag and Cd.(MIM-2) The chemical compositions of these insert metals were similar to AWS BAg-20 and BAg-2a system. And the commercial insert metals(CIM-1, CIM-2) were also evaluated for the comparative study. The characterization of the insert metals were conducted by wettability tests, shear tensile test and microstructural analyses. The results indicated that wettability tests displayed that MIM-1 and CIM-1 insert metals had the larger wetting angle than MIM-2 and CIM-2 and the wetting angle of the MIM-1 showed higher value than that of CIM-1. However these values are less than $25^{\circ}$ that is recommended for standard value for usual insert metals. The highest value of shear tensile tests was obtained from the brazed joint that made by MIN-1 and the value was $2.29{\times}10^2MPa$. This value is appeared to be higher or same as the commercial insert metals. The microstructures of the inserts metals were composed of Cu-rich proeutectic structure for matrix and Ag-rich eutectic structure. The braze joint between superhard alloy particles and carbon steel produced by the MIM-1(Ag-Cu-Zn) system showed sound joint showing stable microstructures. However there was also some porosities at the interface.

A Study on the Burning Characteristics of N-5 Propellant Embedded with Metal Wires (금속선을 삽입한 N-5복기 추진제의 연소 특성)

  • Burning characteristics of solid propellants embedded with four kinds of metal wires(Ag, Cu, Al, Ni-Cr wire) were studied with varying wire diameters(O.10.8 mm) lot N-5 propellant. It was found that the order of the burning rate increment ratio($r_w$/$r_sb$) was Ag wire > Cu wire > Al wire> Ni-Cr wire which was the same as the order of the magnitude of thermal diffusivity. The burning rate increment ratio($r_w$/$r_sb$) of N-5 propellant was less than that of composite Propellant because of the difference of adiabatic flame temperature and flame structure. When Ag, Cu and Al wire having high thermal diffusivity were embedded in N-5 propellant, the plateau and mesa characteristics of the double base propellant were disappeared, but not disappeared in the case of propellant embedded with Ni-Cr wire due to its poor thermal conductivity.

A Study of the CT MAR using Single-Source and Dual-Source Devices: Practical Comparison using Animal Phantom Fabrication (단일 선원 장치와 이중 선원 장치 비교를 이용한 전산화단층촬영 금속인공물 감소에 대한 연구: 동물팬텀 제작을 이용한 실측적인 비교)

  • This study aims to compare and evaluate the image differences between single and dual sources in applying a technique to reduce metal artifacts using dual energy CT. Discovery CT 256 (GE, USA) as a single source device and Somatom Definition Flash (Siemens Health Care, Forchheim, Germany) as a dual source device. The self-made phantom (pigs with medical titanium screws inserted) was quantitative and qualitatively evaluated under the same conditions by varying the dose under the same conditions using a dual energy CT. The evaluation method was compared by measuring SNR for metal artifacts (scattering, stripe) generated by metal inserts, divided around bones and around tissues. There was a difference in images in the method of reducing metal artifacts between single-source and dual-source devices. In a single source device, the linearized prosthesis by metal implantation showed a greater decrease than the image obtained from a double source device, and the surrounding tissue was well observed without interference from the artifact. In dual-source devices, scattering and stripe artifacts caused by metal inserts decreased more than on a single source device, and signals from adjacent tissues surrounding the metal implant were well observed without diminishing. If the examination is conducted separately between single source and dual source devices depending on whether the area to which the patient is intended to be viewed during the examination is adjacent to the metal insert or the total tissue surrounding the metal insert, it is believed that diagnostic helpful images can be obtained.

충격흡수용 Net 형상 Al Foam 제조기술

  • Al Foam 소재는 다공질 금속으로써 저밀도 및 우수한 충격에너지 흡수능으로 최근 새로운 기능성 재료로 부상하여 세계 각국에서 연구개발이 활발하게 진행되고있다. 특히 이러한 Al Foam재를 자동차용 부품의 충격흡수재로사용할 경우 뛰어난 충격흡수능으로 인해 고안전 차량 부품 개발에 획기적인 기술 적용이 기대된다. 그러나, 종래 Al Foam재를 기계부품 등에 삽입할 경우 발포금속을 제조하여 부품 형상에 따라 가공하여 삽입하였으나 이는 공정 중 추가적인 기계 가공 및 비용이 들며 이에 따라생산성이 떨어지는 단점이 있었다. 따라서 본 연구논문에서는 차량용 충격흡수 부품 제작에있어 추가적인 가공 및 공정 수를 줄일 수 있는 Y-프로세스라는 주조공법을 적용하여 Net 형상 Al Foam재를 제작하였다. Y-프로세스는 Al Foam 금속 용탕이 주형에 투하되었을 때 Net 형상의 주형을 용탕 내 삽입하여 금속 용탕의 발포 및 응고시 Net 형상을따라 발포 및 응고가 되도록 하여 Net 형상의 Al Foam이삽입된 부품을 만드는 공법을 말한다. Y-프로세스로제조된 Al Foam재는 주형 내 완전히 충진되지는 못하였으나 주형내 충진된 Al Foam재의 상하부 셀크기가 비교적 균일한 모습을 나타내어 향후 공정제어를 통해 우수한 품질의 Net 형상 Al Foam 제조가 가능함을 알 수있었다.

Burn-back Analysis for Propellant Grains with Embedded Metal Wires (금속선이 삽입된 추진제 그레인의 Burn-back 해석)

  • Propellant grains with embedded metal wires have been used for enhancement of burning rate while maintaining high loading density. For the performance design of a solid rocket motor using propellant grain with embedded metal wires, burn-back analysis is required according to number, location, arrangement angle of metal wires, and augmentation ratio of the propellant burning rate near a wire region. In this study, a numerical method to quickly calculate a burning surface area was developed in response to the design change of the propellant grain with embedded metal wires. The burning surface area derived from the developed method was compared with the results of a CAD program. Error rate decreased as the radial size of the grid decreased. Analysis for characteristics of burning surface area was performed according to the number and location of metal wires, the initial and final phases were shortened and the steady-state phase was increased when the number of metal wires increased. When arranging the metal wires at different radii, the burning surface area rapidly increased in the initial phase and sharply decreased in the final phase compared to the case where the metal wires were disposed in the same radius.
