A Study on the Reliability Improvement of Blockchain-based Ship Inspection Service (블록체인 기반 선박검사 서비스의 신뢰성 향상에 관한 연구)

  • In the field of ship inspection in South Korea, due to outdated workflow processes, there is a possibility of tampering with inspection results. Accordingly, research is being conducted to prevent tampering with inspection results by introducing blockchain technology and cloud-based systems that allow real-time tracking and sharing of data, and to establish a transparent and efficient communication system. In this study, unit and integrated processes for overall data management and inspection execution related to ship inspection were implemented to automatically collect, manage, and track various inspection results occurring during the ship inspection process. Through this, it aimed to increase the efficiency of the ship inspection process overall, inducing growth in the ship inspection industry as a whole. The implemented web portal reached a level where trend analysis and comparative analysis with other ships based on inspection results are possible, and subsequent research aims to demonstrate the excellence of the system.

  • Recently, the aspect of war is evolving due to the 4th industrial revolution technology. Among them, AI technology is changing the way of war as it is applied to advanced weapon systems and decision-making systems. Mosaic Warfare, presented by the U.S. DARPA, is shifting military warfare from attrition-centric warfare to decision-centric warfare by combining Internet of Things, cloud computing, big data, mobile, and artificial intelligence technologies. In addition, it is a method to perform operations quickly so that the most offensive effect can be achieved by appropriately combining the distributed and deployed forces according to the battlefield context. In other words, military operations are not carried out through a uniform combat process, but various forces are operated through a distributed system depending on the battlefield context. In cyber warfare, as artificial intelligence is applied to cyber attack technology, there is a limit to responding with the same procedural response method as the existing cyber kill chain. Therefore, in this paper, the execution method of mosaic warfare is applied to perform context-resilient cyber operations that can operate a response system according to the attack and cyberspace context.

A Study on the Improvement Scheme of University's Software Education

  • In this paper, we propose an effective software education scheme for universities. The key idea of this software education scheme is to analyze software curriculum of QS world university rankings Top 10, SW-oriented university, and regional main national university. And based on the results, we propose five improvements for the effective SW education method of universities. The first is to enhance the adaptability of the industry by developing courses based on the SW developer's job analysis in the curriculum development process. Second, it is necessary to strengthen the curriculum of the 4th industrial revolution core technologies(cloud computing, big data, virtual/augmented reality, Internet of things, etc.) and integrate them with various fields such as medical, bio, sensor, human, and cognitive science. Third, programming language education should be included in software convergence course after basic syntax education to implement projects in various fields. In addition, the curriculum for developing system programming developers and back-end developers should be strengthened rather than application program developers. Fourth, it offers opportunities to participate in industrial projects by reinforcing courses such as capstone design and comprehensive design, which enables product-based self-directed learning. Fifth, it is necessary to develop university-specific curriculum based on local industry by reinforcing internship or industry-academic program that can acquire skills in local industry field.

  • At the Davos Forum in 2016, the Fourth Industrial Revolution, a reference to cloud Schwab, is dramatically changing our lives, and at its height, self-driving cars are emerging as the talk of the day. But there are still many hurdles to overcome before the nation can successfully introduce and establish self-driving cars. In particular, it is necessary to change the paradigm of the legal system centered on human beings to one that includes artificial intelligence. The stable operation of the self-driving car era requires drastic changes to the people-centric legislation system. That is, it is necessary to collect information on the total number of drivers of self-driving cars (what is available), general vehicles on general roads, civil and criminal liability issues in the event of traffic accidents, and collection of insurance problems concerning autonomous driving vehicles. In this study, a separate bill was proposed to address the various legal issues arising from the operation of self-driving cars from a legislative perspective by considering the domestic laws related to road transport, the current state of legislation on foreign soil and legal issues related to self-driving cars.

Sentiment Analysis Engine for Cambodian Music Industry Re-building (캄보디아 음악 산업 재건을 위한 감정 분석 엔진 연구)

  • During Khmer Rouge Regime, Cambodian pop music was completely forgotten since 90% of artists were killed. After recovering from war since 1979, the music started to grow again in 1990. However, Cambodian popular music dynamic and flows are observably directed by the multifaceted socioeconomic, political and creative forces. The major problems are the plagiarism and piracy which have been prevailing for years in the industry. Recently, the consciousness of the need to preserve Khmer original songs from both fans and artist have been increased and become a new trend for Cambodia young population. Still, the music quality is in the limit state. To increase the mind-set, the feedbacks and inspiration are needed. The study suggested a music ranking website using sentiment analysis which data were collected from Production Companies Facebook Pages' posts and comments. The study proposed an algorithm which translates from Khmer to English, doing sentiment analysis and generate the ranking. The result showed 80% accuracy of translation and sentiment analysis on the proposed system. The songs that rank high in the system are the songs which are original and fit the occasion in Cambodia. With the proposed ranking algorithm, it would help to increase the competitive advantage of the musical productions as well as to encourage the producers to compose the new songs which fit the particular activities and event.

  • Information technology, such as IoT, Big Data, Drone, Cloud etc., is evolving every year. Information Society is changing Intelligence Society and Creative Society. A new Construction Projects Management System Roadmap is required because it is difficult to reflect the current IT environments based on the CALS(Continuous Acquisition & Life-cycle Support) master plan, which is performed to establish every five years since 1998. This study was prepared for the Roadmap with a focus on Construction Management System based on the 4th CALS master plan, which was performed to establish the 2012 year. To this end, the construction environment and several information systems were investigated and analyzed. The problems of the construction project information system were derived using SWOT analysis, the vision, goal, direction, strategy, main tasks, specific tasks, and timetable of the Construction Project Management System are presented. This roadmap is designed to be used as operational indicators of a future construction project management system.

Big Data based Tourist Attractions Recommendation - Focus on Korean Tourism Organization Linked Open Data - (빅데이터 기반 관광지 추천 시스템 구현 - 한국관광공사 LOD를 중심으로 -)

  • Conventional exhibition management information systems recommend tourist attractions that are close to the place in which an exhibition is held. Some recommended attractions by the location-based recommendation could be meaningless when nothing is related to the exhibition's topic. Our goal is to recommend attractions that are related to the content presented in the exhibition, which can be coined as content-based recommendation. Even though human exhibition curators can do this, the quality is limited to their manual task and knowledge. We propose an automatic way of discovering attractions relevant to an exhibition of interests. Language resources are incorporated to discover attractions that are more meaningful. Because a typical single machine is unable to deal with such large-scale language resources efficiently, we implemented the algorithm on top of Apache Spark, which is a well-known distributed computing framework. As a user interface prototype, a web-based system is implemented that provides users with a list of relevant attractions when users are browsing exhibition information, available at http://bike.snu.ac.kr/WARP. We carried out a case study based on Korean Tourism Organization Linked Open Data with Korean Wikipedia as a language resource. Experimental results are demonstrated to show the efficiency and effectiveness of the proposed system. The effectiveness was evaluated against well-known exhibitions. It is expected that the proposed approach will contribute to the development of both exhibition and tourist industries by motivating exhibition visitors to become active tourists.

  • Recently many countries around the world are actively promoting smart city projects to address various urban problems such as traffic congestion, housing shortage, and energy scarcity. Due to development of the Internet of Things (IoT), the development of a smart city with sustainability, convenience, and environment-friendliness was enabled through the effective control and reuse of urban resources. The purpose of this study is to analyze the technical trends of IoT and present a development plan for smart city which is one of the applications of the IoT. To this end, the news articles of the Electronic Times between 2013 and 2015were analyzed using the text mining technique and smart city development cases of other countries were investigated. The analysis results revealed the close relationships of big data, cloud, platforms, and sensors with smart city. For the successful development of a smart city, first, all the interested parties in the city must work together to create new values throughout the entire process of value chain. Second, they must utilize big data and disclose public data more actively than they are doing now. This study has made academic contribution in that it has presented a big data analysis method and stimulated follow-up studies. For the practical contribution, the results of this study provided useful data for the policy making of local governments and administrative agencies for smart city development. This study may have limitations in the incorporation of the total trends because only the news articles of the Electronic Times were selected to analyze the technical trends of the IoT.

  • The convergence of engineering and IT technology has brought many changes to the industry as well as academic research. In particular, computer simulation technology has evolved to a level that can accurately simulate actual physical phenomena and analyze them in real time. In this paper, we describe the CFD technology, which is mainly used in industry, and the post processor that uses the augmented reality which is emerging as the post-processing. Research on the visualization of fluid simulation results using AR technology is actively being carried out. However, due to the large size of the result data, it is limited to researches that are published in a desktop environment. Therefore, it is limitation that needs to be reviewed in actual space. In this paper, we discuss how to solve these problems. We analyze the fluid analysis results in the post-processing, and then perform optimizing data (more than 70%)to support operation in the mobile environment. In the visualization, lightweight data is used to perform real-time tracking using cloud computing, The analysis result is matched to the screen and visualized. This allows the user to review and analyze the fluid analysis results in an efficient and immersive manner in the various spaces where the simulation is performed.

Topic Modeling-Based Domestic and Foreign Public Data Research Trends Comparative Analysis (토픽 모델링 기반의 국내외 공공데이터 연구 동향 비교 분석)

  • With the recent 4th Industrial Revolution, the growth and value of big data are continuously increasing, and the government is also actively making efforts to open and utilize public data. However, the situation still does not reach the level of demand for public data use by citizens, At this point, it is necessary to identify research trends in the public data field and seek directions for development. In this study, in order to understand the research trends related to public data, the analysis was performed using topic modeling, which is mainly used in text mining techniques. To this end, we collected papers containing keywords of 'Public data' among domestic and foreign research papers (1,437 domestically, 9,607 overseas) and performed topic modeling based on the LDA algorithm, and compared domestic and foreign public data research trends. After analysis, policy implications were presented. Looking at the time series by topic, research in the fields of 'personal information protection', 'public data management', and 'urban environment' has increased in Korea. Overseas, it was confirmed that research in the fields of 'urban policy', 'cell biology', 'deep learning', and 'cloud·security' is active.
