Temporal and Spatial Analysis of Water Quality Data Observed from Major Water Quality Stations in Nakdonggang Watershed (낙동강 유역 주요 수질측정지점의 시·공간적 수질특성 분석)

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the characteristics of water quality and spatial and temporal water quality in Nakdong River basin. Spatial changes of water quality in Nakdong River due to inflow of sewage treatment plant and main tributaries were analyzed. The water quality data were collected from the water environment information system of the National Institute of Environmental Research (NIED) for 8 days interval from 2004 to 2015, and the collected data were analyzed for water quality items (flow rate, BOD, TN, TP). The discharge water quality data of 32 sewage treatment plants were collected from the National Institute of Environmental Research (NIER) nationwide from 2012 to 2015 and arithmetically averaged over the spring and autumn seasons.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of average unit learning on the knowledge of the representative value of 5th grade elementary school students. In the information-oriented society, the ability to organize and summarize the data has become an essential resource. In the process of correctly analyzing statistical data and making reasonable decisions, the summary of the data plays an important role, and it is necessary to learn the concept of representative values in order to describe the center of the data in a series of numbers. For research, an informal knowledge type possessed by a fifth grade elementary school student with respect to a representative value before learning an average unit is examined and compared with the representative value after learning the average unit. A suggestion point for representative value guidance in school mathematics is provided while examining the change in knowledge with respect to the representative value. Seeing the informal types of elementary school students' representative values will help them learn how to formalize the concept of representative values in middle and high schools. It will give suggestions about the concept of representative values and the method of instruction that should be dealt with in elementary schools. The informal knowledge about the representative value can help with formal representative value that will be learned later. Therefore, This study's discussions on statistical learning of elementary school students are expected to present meaningful implications for statistical education.

  • 본 논문은 High bit-depth 를 위한 SIMD (Single Instruction, Multiple Data) 명령어 기반 보간 필터 고속화 방법을 제안한다. 픽셀 연산을 기반으로 하는 보간 필터링은 HEVC 복호화기에서 높은 복잡도를 차지하고 있지만 반복적인 산술연산을 수행하기 때문에 SIMD 를 이용한 고속화에 적합한 구조를 가지고 있다. 이러한 이유로 본 논문에서는 보간 필터 연산에 대하여 SIMD 명령어를 이용하여 메모리를 효율적으로 사용하여 고속화하는 방법을 제안한다. 제안하는 기술은 HEVC 참조 소프트웨어 HM 12.0-RExt 4.1 에 기반을 둔 ANSI C 기반 자체 개발 HEVC RExt 복호화기 소프트웨어에서 평균 8.5%의 복호화 속도향상을 보였으며, 보간 필터의 수행 시간을 평균 24.8% 향상시켰다.

  • 본 논문은 AVX2 (Advanced Vector eXtension 2) 명령어 집합을 이용하여 HEVC (High Efficiency Video Coding) 복호화기의 역-변환 모듈을 고속화하는 방법을 제안한다. AVX2 명령어 집합은 256 비트 레지스터를 사용하여 다수의 데이터를 한번의 명령을 통해 병렬적으로 연산할 수 있으며 반복적인 산술 연산 혹은 논리 연산 구조에서 효율적이다. 제안하는 방법은 AVX2 명령어 집합을 이용하여 $8{\times}8{\sim}32{\times}32$ 크기의 TU (Transform Unit) 단위로 수행되는 역-변환 연산을 행렬의 곱 형태로 연산하여 고속화하였다. 실험 결과 AVX2 명령어 집합을 이용한 역-변환 연산은 Chen 알고리즘에 비해 평균 51% 속도 향상을 보였으며 SSE (Streaming SIMD Extension) 명령어 집합을 이용한 연산에 비해 평균 20%의 속도 향상 결과를 얻을 수 있었다.

  • 어떤 강우사상에 대해서 특정유역으로부터의 오염물질 유출특성은 첨두농도, 산술 평균농도, 첨두 오염물질 부하량, 평균 오염물질 부하량 또는 총 유출 부하량 등으로 나타낼 수 있다(이재수 등, 2001). 그러나, 대부분의 경우 강우시 발생하는 총 부하량이 개개의 농도 또는 첨두 부하량보다 더욱 중요하다. 그 이유는 유출사상이 비교적 짧고, 강우 유출수가 유입되는 수체, 특히 저수지나 댐 내에서는 어느 정도의 혼합 현상이 수반되므로 저수지내의 오염물질 농도는 강우로 인한 유출수(저수지로 유입되는)내 개개의 농도변화보다는 결국 총 부하량의 반응이기 때문이다. 특히, 저수지나 호수에서 질소와 인과 같은 영양염류에 대해서 총 부하량은 가장 중요한 수질영향 및 결정 변수일 수밖에 없다. 이와 같은 이유로 강우사상에 대한 평균농도 또는 유량가중 평균농도(EMC, event mean concentration)는 비점원 오염물질의 유출을 평가하는데 가장 적절한 인자로 인식되고 있으며, 가장 널리 이용되고 있다 (EPA, 1983). 본 연구에서 소하천 유역을 대상으로 유량과 수질농도를 실측하여 대상하천에 대한 수문자료를 구축하고, 오염부하모의 모형을 통해 대상유역에서의 강우사상별 오염부하량을 모의하였는데 모형의 보정은 실측된 유량자료를 활용하였으며, 실측된 수질농도자료와 유량자료로 산정한 오염부하량 자료를 통해 검증하였다. 검증된 모형에 대하여 100개의 강우사상에 대한 무작위 모의를 수행하였고, 결과자료를 활용하여 대상하천에 대한 강우-오염부하량의 상관관계식을 도출하였다.

  • The purpose of this paper is to develop the model of the customer's satisfaction score for web site providing science & technology contents. The most important issue for the customer's satisfaction score is providing more appropriate information service about science & technology. Internet questionnaire method was used to collect data of the satisfaction level of customers. Data was collected from December 15th though December 30th, 2002. There were 2, 092 respondents to questionnaire. Statistical analysis were used in this Study. The score of the customer's satisfaction for web site providing science & technology contents is 87.13 which is from our customer's satisfaction score model.

Evaluation of Raingauge Network using Area Average Rainfall Estimation and the Estimation Error (면적평균강우량 산정을 통한 강우관측망 평가 및 추정오차)

  • Area average rainfall estimation is important to determine the exact amount of the available water resources and the essential input data for rainfall-runoff analysis. Like that, the necessary criterion for accurate area average rainfall estimate is the uniform spatial distribution of raingauge network. In this study, we suggest the spatial distribution evaluation methodology of raingauge network to estimate better area average rainfall and after the suggested method is applied to Han River and Geum River basin. The spatial distribution of rainfall network can be quantified by the nearest neighbor index. In order to evaluate the effects of the spatial distribution of rainfall network by each basin, area average rainfall was estimated by arithmetic mean method, the Thiessen's weighting method and estimation theory for 2013's rainfall event, and evaluated the involved errors by each cases. As a result, it can be found that the estimation error at the best basin of spatial distribution was lower than the worst basin of spatial distribution.

A Study on the Rejection Capability Based on Anti-phone Modeling (반음소 모델링을 이용한 거절기능에 대한 연구)

  • This paper presents the study on the rejection capability based on anti-phone modeling for vocabulary independent speech recognition system. The rejection system detects and rejects out-of-vocabulary words which were not included in candidate words which are defined while the speech recognizer is made. The rejection system can be classified into two categories by their implementation methods, keyword spotting method and utterance verification method. The keyword spotting method uses an extra filler model as a candidate word as well as keyword models. The utterance verification method uses the anti-models for each phoneme for the calculation of confidence score after it has constructed the anti-models for all phonemes. We implemented an utterance verification algorithm which can be used for vocabulary independent speech recognizer. We also compared three kinds of means for the calculation of confidence score, and found out that the geometric mean had shown the best result. For the normalization of confidence score, usually Sigmoid function is used. On using it, we compared the effect of the weight constant for Sigmoid function and determined the optimal value. And we compared the effects of the size of cohort set, the results showed that the larger set gave the better results. And finally we found out optimal confidence score threshold value. In case of using the threshold value, the overall recognition rate including rejection errors was about 76%. This results are going to be adapted for stock information system based on speech recognizer which is currently provided as an experimental service by Korea Telecom.

The Concentrations and Loads of Pollutant in Wet Deposition in Cheongju (습성강하물 중의 오염물질의 농도와 부하 - 충북 청주시를 중심으로-)

  • The concentrations and loads of total nitrogen (TN), total phosphorus (TP), and chemical oxygen demand (COD) in wet deposition were investigated at Chungbuk National University in Cheongju, Chungbuk. Event based precipitation samples were collected during 1998 to 2003. The precipitation-weighted mean concentrations of pollutants were 0.60 mg/L for TN, 0.014 mg/L for TP, and 4.8 mg/L for COD, which were smaller than its arithmetic mean concentrations by 26% for TN, 18% for TP, and 14% for COD. The concentrations of TN, TP, and COD significantly decreased with precipitation. Mean concentrations of pollutants in spring (March-May) were higher than in other seasons likely due to dust caused by wind erosion and sand-dust storms, pollen etc. Significant relationships were determined between TN and TP, and TN and COD. Annual loads of wet deposition averaged 7.9 kg/ha$\cdot$yr for TN, 0.19 kg/ha$\cdot$yr for TP, and 63.9 kg/ha$\cdot$yr for COD, which are almost identical to the values of TN and TP but slightly higher than COD value reported in Japan.

A Graphical Method for Evaluating the Effect of Outliers in One- and Two-Variate Data (일변량 및 이변량 자료에 대하여 특이값의 영향을 평가하기 위한 그래픽 방법)

  • Outliers distort many measures for data analysis. We can propose dandelion seed plot as a graphical tool for evaluating the effect of outliers in one-and two-variate data. We can draw mean-variance dandelion seed plots using linked curves which are made by changing weights from 1 to 0 for each datum. Similarly we can also draw covariance-correlation-coefficient dandelion seed plots. This graphical method can be a useful tool for elementary statistics education in college.
