  • Copper electrodeposition technology is essential for producing copper films and interconnects in the microelectronics industries including semiconductor packaging, semiconductors and secondary battery, and there are extensive efforts to control the microstructure of these films and interconnects. In this study, we investigated the influence of crystallographic orientation on the local plastic deformation of copper films for secondary batteries deformed by uniaxial tensile load. Crystallographic orientation maps of two electrodeposited copper films with different textures were measured using an electron backscatter diffraction (EBSD) system and then used as initial conditions for crystal plasticity finite element analysis to predict the local plastic deformation behavior within the films during uniaxial tension deformation. Through these processes, the changes of the local plastic deformation behavior and texture of the films were traced according to the tensile strain, and the crystal orientations leading to the inhomogeneous plastic deformation were identified.

Evaluation of Spatial Dose Rate in Working Environment during Non-Destructive Testing using Radioactive Isotopes (방사성동위원소를 이용한 비파괴 검사 시 작업환경 내 공간선량률 평가)

  • The radiation source used for non-destructive testing have permeability and cause a scattered radiation through collisions of surrounding materials, which causes changes in the surrounding spatial dose. Therefore, this study attempted to evaluate and analyze the distribution of spatial dose by source in the working environment during the non-destructive test using monte carlo simulation. In this study, Using FLUKA, a simulation code, simulates 60Co, 192Ir, and 75Se source used in non-destructive testing, The reliability of the source term was secured by comparing the calculated dose rate with the data of the Health and Physics Association. After that, a non-destructive test in the radiation safety facility(RT-room) was designed to evaluate the spatial dose according to the distance from the source. As a result of the spatial dose evaluation, 75Se source showed the lowest dose distribution in the frontal position and 60Co source showed a dose rate of about 15 times higher than that of 75Se and about 2 times higher than that of 192Ir. In addition, the spatial dose according to the distance tends to decrease according to the distance inverse square law as the distance from the source increases. Exceptionally, 60Co, 192Ir, and 75Se sources confirmed a slight increase within 2 m of position. Based on the results of this study, it is believed that it will be used as supplementary data for safety management of workers in radiation safety facilities during non-destructive testing using radioactive isotopes.

Age and Growth of Flathead Grey Mullet Mugil cephalus Collected by a Two-side Fyke Net in the Coastal Water off Taean, Korea (태안 연안에서 이각망에 의해 채집된 숭어의 연령과 성장)

  • Age and growth of flathead grey mullet Mugil cephalus were estimated using samples collected by a two-side fyke net in the coastal water off Taean in 2008. Age was determined by examination of annuli in otoliths and total lengths at ages were back-calculated from otolth-body size relationship. Total length ranged from 239 to 605 mm and mainly between 400 and 550 mm. Observed ages ranged from 1 to 7 years old and mainly between 3 and 5 years old. Total length (L, mm) was linearly related to otolith radius (R, mm); L=15.3+87.9 R. Total lengths at the annulus formation in otolith were back-calculated by Frazer-Lee method. Estimated length at the age 1 was $316{\pm}40.6mm$ ($mean{\pm}SD$) showing a fast growth rate during the early growth stage. Total length at each age (t) showed a wide range indicating the big difference in growth rate among individuals. Growth in total length can be expressed by a Von Bertalanffy growth curve as $L_t=542[1-{\exp}\{-0.493 (t+0.769)\}]$.

  • Magnetic properties are investigated for top- and bottom-type spin valves of Si/SiO$_2$/NiO(60nm)/Co(2.5nm)/Cu(1.95nm)/Co(4.5nm)/NOL(t nm; Nano Oxide layer). The MR ratios of the bottom-type spin valves with NOL are larger than those of the top-type spin valves. However, the enhancement of the former is lower than the latter. Both of spin-valves also showed almost constant Ap and smaller p. Enhanced MR ratios of spin valves with NOL result mainly from small values of with constant Ap which due to specular diffusive electron scattering at NOL(NiO)/metal interfaces.

  • In the system of poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA)/dimethyl sulfoxide, the refractive index of polymer was very well matched to that of solvent and thus its scattered intensity could be minimized. After adding small amount of polystyrene latex particle (nominal diameter 200 nm), diffusion behavior of only probe particle was investigated against the concentration of polymer matrix by means of dynamic light scattering. The polymer concentration dependence of its reduced diffusion coefficient was able to be analysed with the stretched exponential function of the reduced concentration $C[{\eta}]$. In very dilute concentration regime, the depletion layer kept constant but at the early semi-dilute regime of $1{\leq}C[{\eta}]{\leq}2.5$, the concentration-dependent exponent of depletion layer ${\delta}$ was appeared to be -0.8 which was very close to theoretical one of -0.85. However it was also observed at the higher concentration that its layer thickness decreased more abruptly than theoretical expectation and this phenomenon was ascribed to Oosawa type attractive interaction between adjacent latex particles.

  • Heavy rainfall induces many disasters including slope failure and infrastructure collapse. In this point of view, rainfall-simulated centrifugal model test can be a reasonable tool to evaluate the stability of geotechnical structure. In order to obtain the displacements of a model in centrifugal model test, in general, LVDT and laser displacement sensor are used. However, when the rainfall is simulated, the LVDT has the problem of excessive infiltration into the model ground, and the laser displacement sensor provides the measuring result with inaccuracy due to the dispersion of the laser radiation. Hence, in this study, horizontal displacement sensor for rainfall-simulated centrifugal model test was developed. This sensor produced with a thin elastic steel plate and gave the accurate relationship between the displacement and the strain.

Bioaccumulation of Zn, Cu, Fe and Al in the Earthworm Eisenia Fetida (Ennelida; Oligochaeta) in Relation to the Supply of Sludges (슬러지 급이에 따른 Zn, Cu, Fe, Al의 줄지렁이 체내 생물축적)

  • Zn, Cu, Fe, Al contents of sludges produced from sewage treatment plants and night soil treatment plant in Pocheon City, Gyeong-gi Province were investigated. And the accumulated contents of those metals in the earthworm Eisenia fetida were also investigated while 15, 30, 45, 60, 75, 90, 105 grams(dw) of sludges were cumulatively supplied to the earthworms. Zn contents of sludges were 75.1~196.1 mg/kg, Cu contents 3.74~76.1 mg/kg, Fe contents 219.9~857.8 mg/kg, Al contents 198.4~991.7 mg/kg, all of which would not cause acute toxicity to the earthworm, but could cause sublethal effects on earthworm and reduce the density of next generation's population. However, cumulative supplies of sludges didn't increase the bioaccumulation rates of metals in the earthworm body, and BAFs of those metals after 60g of sludge supply were 0.0~0.43, which meant that the accumulated Zn, Cu, Fe, Al contents in the earthworm were lower than those of sludges.

유리기판의 광추출 효율 향상을 위한 마스크 제작 공정 없는 플라즈마 식각 연구

  • 유리기판으로 투과되는 빛들 중에는 내부 전반사나 wave-guided mode로 인하여 손실이 일어나 일반적으로 20%의 광추출 효율을 가진다. 이러한 문제점을 해결하기 위한 연구에는 Photonic Crystal과 같은 주기적인 나노 구조물이 있는데 이러한 구조물을 제작하기 위한 마스크 공정 과정은 대부분 복잡하거나 비싼 단점이 있다. 이에 본 발표에서는 마스크 없이 비정질소다라임 유리의 구조물 생성으로 광 추출 효율이 상승하는지 보고자 하였다. M-ICP (Magnetized-Induced Coupled Plasma)란 용량 결합형 플라즈마와 유도 결합형 플라즈마 두 가지 방식의 플라즈마를 이용한 것인데 용량 결합형 플라즈마를 이용해 이온이 sheath에 의해 가속되어 유리표면에 부딪히고 그에 따라 유리가 식각되는 물리적 식각을 이용하였다. 또한 이온의 밀도를 조절하기 위해 유도결합형 플라즈마 방식을 이용하여 식각률을 높였다. 화학적 식각을 위해서는 CF4와 O2혼합 가스를 이용해 F가 Si와 결합하여 SiF4가 되어 사라지고 탄소잔여물인 C는 O2와 반응하여 제거하였다. 그 결과, 랜덤한 분포를 가지는 미세한 구조물(stochastic sub-wavelength structure)을 유리 표면에 형성할 수 있었고, 또한 다양한 가스 종류와 압력, source power와 bias power, 그리고 시간을 바꿔가며 미세 구조물들을 관찰하였다. 실험 결과, 가시광선 파장 이하의 높이를 갖고 수 마이크로미터의 너비를 갖는 구조물이 전반사되는 빛을 효율적으로 추출하는 것을 산란되는 빛의 정도인 diffusive transmittance 가 기존 0%에서 15% 정도로 증가하는 것으로 스펙트로포토미터 측정을 통해 확인하였다. 이러한 유리 기판 위 구조물 생성방법을 OLED에 적용한다면 적은 비용으로 소자의 효율을 크게 향상 시킬 수 있을 것이다. 또한 본 처리 과정의 장점은 기존의 방법에 필요한 스퍼터링이나 RTA 처리 과정이 필요 없어 공정 단가 절감과 제조 공정의 단순화로 높은 생산성을 얻을 수 있으며 대면적화에도 유리하다.

  • Visible Light Communication (VLC) is effective way to realize the light device and communication device using a Light Emitting Diode (LED) simultaneously. VLC has high security for Field Of View (FOV) communication area, also which is possible to transmit the high data rate using visible light. In VLC, transmitting the divided data by the RGB channels is higher data rate than transmitting the same data by RGB channels. However, it occurred the burst error by scattering and reflection of visible light which is impossible to restore that. To solve the problem, we proposed the 2-step interleaving scheme that high data rate and improve the performance of BER in VLC. The proposed system implements cyclic interleaving and convolutional interleaving that is able to be standardized the performance of RGB channels and improve the performance of BER using error correction.

  • The present paper deals with the growth of yellow croaker by scale age reading. This study is based on material from 596 specimens caught by the Danish seine in the Yellow Sea during the period from June 1967 to April 1968. Ring marks of the scale were formed from April to July, corresponding to the spawning season of the fish reported by Bae (1960). Growth rate of each radius of the ring was approximately 0.73. The relationship between the total length and radius of scales, and the relationship between the body weight and total length are represented by the following equations respectively: L=61.350R+50.184 $$W=4.298L^{3.227}\times10^{-3}$$ Maximum total length calculated by the diagram of Walford's growth transformation, $$L_{n+1}=0.6866L_n+10.8730$$, was 346.9mm. Growth curve of the fish can be expressed by the following von Bertalanffy's equation : $$L_t=346.9(1-e^{-0.376(t+0.609)})$$
