An Socio-Economic Effect Analysis of Using Open Spectrum in Korea (개방형 스펙트럼 이용의 사회경제적 파급 효과 분석)

  • In this paper, we analyze the telecom services and their socio-economic effect of using open spectrum, which is to access sharing spectrum. For this, we suggest a concept and a classification of open spectrum as spectrum access model and make a survey for analyzing the socio-economic effect of spectrum, 2,605 MHz which is candidated for sharing between 2.9~5.925 Hz in Korea. From survey results, we propose Mobile Telecommunications Assist Service and WiFi as the most effective services and Smart Car Service and M2M, IoT, and RFID/USN Service as the effective services to open spectrum.

The Effect of Corporate Social Responsibility on Corporate Image: The Role of Spillover Effect and Negativity Effect based on CSR dimensions (기업의 사회적 책임이 기업 이미지에 미치는 영향 - 차원별 파급효과와 메시지 유형을 중심으로 -)

  • Previous researches have proven that corporate social responsibility(adhere CSR) is positively related to corporate performance. But Most of CSR related researches have several limitations. One of limitations is that those researches treated CSR as unidimensional construct. Almost researchers in the area of CSR concepts insisted that CSR is consist of multi dimensions. Carroll's four dimensions of CSR have been utilized by numerous academicians. Carroll asserted that CSR is composed of four dimensions: economic, legal, ethical, and philanthropic responsibility. But Carroll's dimensions were revised as three dimensions by Schwartz and Carroll, because ethical and philanthropic responsibility are not mutually exclusive. If CSR construct is composed of multiple dimensions, a message related to one of dimensions changes beliefs or evaluations about other dimensions that are not mentioned in the message. This phenomenon is called as "spillover effect". According to Ahluwalia, Unnava, and Burnkrant, negative information spills over to attributes that are associated with the target attributes but not mentioned in the message. Like this, this preponderant effect of negative information over positive information has been termed the "negativity effect". In this paper, authors try to prove the spillover effect and negativity effect among Schwartz and Carroll's three dimensions(economic, legal, and ethical responsibility) of CSR. The results of this study show that messages related to legal and ethical responsibility cause spillover effect and influence consumers' evaluation to other dimensions. Moreover, when negativity effect is added on spillover effect, spillover effect is more increased. It means that negative messages related to legal and ethical responsibility is more harmful to corporate image than negative message related to economic responsibility. The results of this study will help companies to manage corporate image using CSR messages as marketing communication tools. Companies should manage messages related to legal and ethical responsibility for more efficiently managing corporate image. Specially, because negative messages related to legal and ethical responsibility are more harmful to corporate image, companies must take care not to spread out negative message related to legal and ethical responsibility. Finally, we discuss the implications of the findings and limitations.

The Estimation of the Economic Impact of Handset Subsidies Using Input-Output Tables (단말기보조금의 경제적 파급효과에 대한 산업연관분석)

  • This paper computes the economic impact of handset subsidies using the recent Input-Output Tables and compares the results with other alternatives which telecommunications companies can choose. The first scenario is that telecommunications companies give handset subsidies to consumers and sales agents. The second is that the companies do not give the subsidies to them, but instead spend the same amount of subsidy on facility investment. The third is that the companies lower the prices of their mobile communications services and consumers spend the saved expenses on other goods and services. The result is that the production, value added, import, job, employment inducement coefficients of the first scenario is larger than those of the second and third scenarios. The reason is as follows. The handset subsidy results in the incentive to consumers for handset purchase or the incentive for sales agents to sell the telecommunication services of the companies. The former has larger production and import inducement effect, and the latter also has larger value-added, job, and employment inducement effect than those of other scenarios.

  • City image improvement is very important, particularly in city tourism development because tourism depends on image. Some cities have made efforts to develop a positive city image with local festivals. The purpose of this study was to assess the tourists' satisfaction of local festivals. First, the city image was focused on three factors; city satisfaction, experience and convenience. Second, the city image was influenced significantly by city satisfaction and direct or indirect experience. These results show that effective strategies are needed for the successful IT implementation in local festivals. The use of mobile applications and GIS-based sensors provide local festival information for tourists who receive information, Finally, a well made city image combines city identity and originality, which will attract many tourists and visitors.

  • Odor problem of livestock operation is important issue in a local community. I quantified the property price impact of 199 livestock operations for 3,355 housing sales in the U.S (Colorado). Spatial hedonic model was adopted to deal with spatial autocorrelation in housing market. Small beef and dairy operations, which are the traditional agricultural sector, seem to create a positive rural lifestyle amenity effect. However, the impact of livestock operation on rural residential sales turns to negative if the operation is over a certain size and species. Large hog and sheep operation seems to bring fatal economic loss from the local community perspective if it close to residential area. Livestock odor is one of the negative externality, the results provide the potential social cost of the livestock sector in the region. Policy makers may incorporate this social cost in the regional planning to minimize the social and maximize the development effect. Therefore, local officials and private individuals should carefully consider the location and characteristics of new residential properties and livestock operations alike.

  • The science & technology information is core point of the knowledge based society which will accomplish the role which economic development is lead. Simultaneously, Korea will jump at powerful country of knowledge information. But, There is not analysis about affects in the economic growth and various economic structure which follows in national knowledge information system development. This research analyses the economic ripple effects, in terms of production inducement effect, added value inducement effect, import inducement effect, labor inducement effect, of national knowledge information system development in KISTI from 2001 to 2008, using an input-output analysis of the bank of Korea(2007). It also examines economic propriety using an benefit-cost analysis for national knowledge information system development.

  • 지식정보사회로의 가속화는 국가의 새로운 역할을 요구하고 있다. 이 중 가장 중요한 것이 사회변화에 앞서가는 새로운 개념의 국가 사회간접자본의 확충이 될 것이다. 사회간 접자본(SOC)은 경제, 사회, 안보 등 국가의 모든 영역에 파급효과를 미치는 국민 경제의 기반을 제공함과 동시에 모든 국민 생활과 삶의 질 제고에 필요한 바탕을 제공하며 궁극적으로 국가경쟁력의 핵심역할을 한다. 하지만, 우리나라의 사회간접자본은 그동안의 지속적인 확충에도 불구하고 선진국에 비해 사회간접자본의 경쟁력이 취약한 것이 사실이다. 따라서 기존 사회간접자본와 우리나라의 첨단 디지털인프라(ICT)의 발전적 결합을 통해 사회간접자본을 지능화.첨단화하여 교통, 물류 등 사회 각 분야의 경쟁력을 높이는 한편, 다양한 부가가지 창출의 기회와 편익을 제공하는 방안을 제안하고자 한다.

  • 기상재난들은 고도의 경제성장 및 인구증가에 따른 도시화와 공업화가 진행됨에 따라 사회 경제적 파급효과도 점점 커지고 있으며 경제의 불확실성을 크게 증가시켜 국가경제의 안정성을 저해하는 요인이 되고 있다. 그러나 기상재해의 직접피해에 비해 간접피해는 정량화하기 어려워 정성적인 분석에 그치는 경우가 많이 있다. 기상재난에 대한 간접피해를 정량적으로 추정하는 것은 지역공동체나 국가의 취약성을 가늠하게 하며, 재해방지를 위한 투자에 대한 경제적 타당성에 근거가 된다. 재해의 간접피해추정은 불확실한 재난발생에 대해 리스크 관리 측면에서 예상가능한 피해범주의 정보를 제공하며 공공적인 측면에서도 재난에 취약한 계층을 보호하기 위한 국가의 공적자금의 당위성을 제공한다. 본 연구는 가상적인 시나리오를 통해 우리나라의 기상 재난의 국민경제적 간접피해를 추정하기 위한 모형과 결과를 제시하였다.

  • 그간 다랭이원양어업연구는 단순한 통계와 생물·자원적 측면에서 고찰되어 왔다. 그러나 현시점에서는 무엇보다 경영과 경제적 공헌도를 비교하면서 그 실질적 발전책을 찾아야 할 것이다. 그 이유로는 200해리경제수역이 정착화되어 가는 현상황에서 좋든 싫든 대다수의 원양어업을 수행하는 국제들이 그 제도를 받아 들여야 할 입장이기 때문이다. 이러한 입장은 원양어장에 진출하는 국가들 뿐만 아니라, 아무런 대응책도 없이 무조건 200해리경제수역을 설정하여 놓은 연안당사국들도 자국의 경제수역내에 있는 빙산자원을 경영경제적으로 유교하게 활용하기를 희망한다. 더우기 다랭이어종의 주요동유로가 200해리경제수역내의 연안국가들에 연접되어있다. 그러므로 200해리경제수역을 보유하고 있는 연안국가들과 동수 성에 진출을 기도하는 원양어업국가들 간에 합작어업을 실시해야 할 것이다. 물론 우선적으로 입어조업의 전단계를 밟아야 하나 종국적으로는 합작어적이 바람직하다. 합작어업의 중요성은 어업자체 뿐만 아니라 그 파급효과를 거둘 수 있다는데 있다. 합작어업은 정치적·사회적 연구도 수반되나 우선적으로 부가가치를 가져와야 하므로 경영경제적 측면에서 연구고찰되어야 한다.
