The impact of CSR activities in Domestic SMEs on their financial performances: analysis of the difference between B2B and B2C (국내 중소기업CSR 활동이 재무적성과에 미치는 영향: B2B, B2C 중소기업의 차이분석을 중심)

  • Environmental regulations in the world has been strengthened. International Organization for Standardization (ISO) that international standard for social responsibility in the ISO26000 was published on November 01, 2010. CSR is rapidly changing in global environment. In the meantime, domestic companies such as donations to the required activities ought to be stayed. Strengthening the competitiveness of enterprises in the management tools that should be taken as the movement is taking place. The domestic small and medium-sized corporate social responsibility (SMEs CSR) activities have also taken many changes. In particular, multinational corporations and large companies within the supply chain, B2B companies in partnership appears to have a significant impact on business. In this study, in changing environment for domestic SMEs CEO survey results are based. CSR activities of SMEs and its impact on the financial competence, B2B businesses and B2C business activities of corporate social responsibility has been to analyzed the differences factor. This allows the small and medium-sized companies effectively promote socially responsible business activities, to spread the government, corporate, NGO, and local stakeholder's CSR was to provide a new perspective.

  • Concerning the circumstance of corporate management, which is the appearance of various stakeholder and the possibility of widespread in irresponsible rumours, the objective rating a company in more highly emphasized in these time. According to the situation, various measures are being suggested. One of those efforts, environmental, sustainable, or corporate social responsible(CSR) aspects, which are based on the environmental risk reduction capability are regarded as an important component. In this study, we reviewed the CSR, which is most important Survival factor to the KEPCO's sustainability and some issues are suggested to maximize the KEPCO's corporate value.

The Effect of Customer Orientation on Customer Loyalty and Organizational loyalty Mediated by Ethical and Discretionary Responsibility (고객지향성이 윤리적 책임과 재량적 책임을 매개로 고객충성도와 조직충성도에 미치는 영향)

  • This study seeks to examine the effect of customer orientation on customer loyalty and employee loyalty mediated by two dimensions of corporate social responsibility (CSR), discretionary and ethical dimensions. This study examined the effects of customer orientation on discretionary responsibility and ethical responsibility. Additionally, it examined the effect of discretionary responsibility and ethical responsibility on customer loyalty and organizational loyalty. In order to verify the hypothesis, we surveyed the employees of large companies and analyzed 239 valid data. First, customer orientation has a significant positive impact on discretionary responsibility. Second, customer orientation has a significant positive impact on ethical responsibility. Third, discretionary responsibility has a significant positive impact on customer loyalty. Fourth, discretionary responsibility has a significant positive impact on organizational loyalty. However, ethical responsibility does not predict customer loyalty and organizational loyalty. Theoretical and practical implications of the results of this study, limitations and directions for future research are discussed.

The Effects of Corporate Social Responsibility Activities on the Formation of Trust: Focusing on the Comparison of Korean-Chinese Consumers (기업의 사회적 책임활동이 소비자 신뢰형성에 미치는 영향: 한(韓)·중(中) 소비자 비교를 중심으로)

  • In this study we postulated that the trust plays an essential mediating role in the relationship between the corporate social responsibility activities and corporate evaluation and product evaluation. In addition, we examined the perception difference to the Korean-Chinese consumers in these relations. A model integrating four types of CSR activities(economic, legal, ethical, and philanthropic), three dimensions of trust(integrity trust, expertise trust, social benevolence trust), and the corporate evaluation, product evaluation was tested using data of 400 consumers. The results of the data analysis showed that the economic responsibility and ethical responsibility had a significant influence on the integrity trust, expertise trust and benevolence trust in the case of the Korean consumers. But, in the Chinese consumers, the economic responsibility positively influenced on the expertise trust and benevolence trust. The legal esponsibility had a significant impact on the integrity trust and benevolence trust in the case of both Korean consumers and Chinese consumers. Also, ethical responsibility positively influenced on the integrity trust and benevolence trust in the case of Chinese consumers. Finally, philanthropic responsibility had not significant influence on the expertise trust in case of both Korean consumers and Chinese consumers. The results of this study will help corporations to understand the relative importance among the four responsibilities and to make decisions in allocating their resources.

A Study on Practical Approaches for CSR in Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises in Korea (한국 중소기업 CSR 경영 실태 분석과 개선방안에 관한 연구)

  • This paper belongs in a literature of sustainablity policy determination. This paper offers an actual status and explanation to corporate social responsibility of SMEs in Korea. This study examines CSR situation focused on developing mechanisms to enable the SMEs sector. Firstly, this study suggests introducing the third-party professional assurance service on sustainablity reports and/or asking global accreditation such as ISO14001 and ISO26000 when entry as a provider in government e-procurement system. Secondly, this study introduce the CSR Committee headed by the CEO and coordinates group-wide committees to discuss the CSR Guidelines. Third, because CSR does not only have to do with the SMEs, but pertains to the local community and business partner, this study offered the opportunity to work with large companies in aspects of CSR.

The Effects of Entrepreneurship and Corporate Social Responsibility on Firm Performance (기업가 정신 및 기업의 사회적 책임과 기업의 경영성과 관계)

  • This study investigates the effects of entrepreneurship and corporate social responsibility (CSR) on firm performance. I use the conditional quantile regression as well as the ordinary least square (OLS) with 300 samples, only medium and small size companies. I found firstly, entrepreneurship affected overall positively firm performance in the all quantile levels. Secondly, CSR also have a positive impact on firm performance in the overall all quantile levels. By these results, I recommend that entrepreneurship and CSR should a positive impact on the firm performance for the small and medium business companies.
