Influence of Perceived Social Support and Self-Efficacy on Stress-Coping Behaviors in School-Aged Children (학령기 아동이 지각한 사회적지지, 자기효능감이 스트레스 대처행동에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the impact of perceived social support and self-efficacy on stress-coping behaviors among school-aged children. The subjects in this study were 312 selected students in an elementary school. Data were gathered from May 12 to 23, 2014. The collected data were analyzed by a statistical package SPSS. As a result, social support perceived by the children and their self-efficacy had significant positive correlations with positive stress-coping behaviors. As for influential predictors for positive stress-coping behaviors, social support and self- efficacy were significantly influential. The findings of the study ascertained that the children's positive stress-coping behaviors were under the heavy influence of social support and self-efficacy. In the future, the development of programs that aim at boosting social support and self-efficacy to affect the reduction of children's stress is required, and related intervention is also necessary.

The Effects of Suicidal Thought on Health Status Social Support, and Life Satisfaction in Elderly (노인의 건강상태, 사회적 지지 및 생활만족도가 자살생각에 미치는 영향)

  • Purpose: This study was examined to identify effects of suicidal though on health status social support, and life satisfaction in elderly. Method: The subjects consisted of 123 elderly. The data collected from June to July 2012 were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, pearson correlation coefficients and stepwise multiple regression. Result: The mean scores of health status ($2.47{\pm}.70$), social support ($3.36{\pm}.90$), and life satisfaction ($2.90{\pm}.60$) were above the average. And suicidal thought ($.51{\pm}.37$) was below the average. Health status, social support, life satisfaction, and suicidal though were significantly different according to generalized characteristic. Significant correlations were found between health status, social support, life satisfaction, and suicidal thought. Health status was influencing factors of suicidal thought (26.6%). Conclusion: These findings indicate that perceived health status, social support, and life satisfaction may be necessities to decrease suicidal thought of elderly.

The Convergent effect of Ego-resilience, Nursing professionalism, and Social support on Department satisfaction in Nursing Students (간호대학생의 자아탄력성, 간호전문직관, 사회적 지지가 학과만족에 미치는 융복합적 영향)

  • The study were to identify the effect of ego-resilience, nursing professionalism, social support on department satisfaction in nursing students. Data were collected from April to May 2017 from 272 nursing students. The study tools were ego-resilience, nursing professionalism, social support, department satisfaction. The data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficients, multiple linear regression using SPSS/WIN 21.0 program. The result showed that the difference in department satisfaction relating to general characteristics were significant for reason for choosing a department, student activity, academic record. The correlation among ego-resilience, nursing professionalism, social support, department satisfaction were significant, and the significant factors influencing department satisfaction in nursing students were social support, nursing professionalism, ego-resilience. It is necessary to find ways to improve the department satisfaction through the activities that can enhance the social support, nursing professionalism, and ego-resilience of nursing students. This will help them adjust to college life.

Mediating Effects of Self-esteem and Social Support on the Relationship between Physical, Psychological Symptoms and Campus Life Satisfaction of Students (대학생의 신체적, 심리적 증상과 대학생활만족도와의 관계에서 자아존중감과 사회적 지지의 매개효과)

  • The study aimed to understand how general characteristics, health consciousness and health behavior of college students are related to physical symptoms, psychological symptoms, self-esteem, social support and the students' satisfaction with college life while it examined how self-esteem and social support are affected by the physical symptoms and psychological symptoms as depression and anxiety and the college life satisfaction. According to the results from path analysis, age, with the social support as a medium, appeared to have had a positive influence on the students' satisfaction with college life while physical symptoms, depression and anxiety had been found, with self-esteem and social support as a media, to affect the students' campus life satisfaction, with physical symptoms positively while depression and anxiety negatively. In conclusion, the study verified mediated effects, sizes and paths of both self-esteem and social support when they are related to physical symptoms, psychological symptoms and college students' satisfaction with their campus life.

Influence of Parent's Child-rearing Attitudes, Social Support and Hardiness on Subjective Happiness (부모 양육태도, 사회적 지지 및 강인성이 자녀의 주관적 행복감에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of the present study was to investigate the role of social support and hardiness on the relationship between parenting attitudes and subjective well-being. The participants of this study were 318 university students and analyses for this study was conducted by using SPSS 15.0 and Amos 7.0. The major results were as follows; Social support confirmed mediating variable between parenting attitudes and hardiness, and hardiness confirmed mediating variable between social support and subjective well-being. That is, parenting attitudes had some effect on subjective well-being through hardiness based on social support. Finally, the needs of development about the counseling and the education contents as a special intervention was discussed, and that contents were reflected social support and hardiness to be improved. Also, limitations and implications of subsequent further study were suggested in this research.

Mediation Effect of Empowerment and Social Support in the Relationship between Parent-child Relationship and College Adjustment (부모-자녀 관계와 대학 적응 간의 관계에서 임파워먼트와 사회적 지지의 매개효과)

  • This study aimed to verify the mediating effects of empowerment and social support in the process of parent-child relationship affecting the college adjustment. In this descriptive research, 219 university students were recruited as participants. Data collection was carried out from May to June 2019 via online survey. The results showed that parent-child relationship had significant direct effects on empowerment, social support, and college adjustment. Moreover, parent-child relationship had significant indirect effects on students' college adjustment via empowerment and social support. The indirect effect of empowerment was significantly higher than the indirect effect of social support with respect to the influence of parent-child relationship on college adjustment. It is necessary to improve parent-child relations and emotional intimacy through social support to promote the college adjustment of students. In addition, it is important to apply a program that can enhance empowerment, which is a powerful factor in college adjustment.

The Effect of Social Support on Depressive Symptoms among College Students : The Mediating Effect of Optimism and Self-efficacy (대학생의 지각된 사회적 지지가 우울 증상에 미치는 영향 : 낙관성과 자기효능감의 매개효과)

  • The aim of this research is to verify the mediating role of optimism and self-efficacy on the association between social support and depressive symptoms on among college students. 329 college students answered the survey questionnaires which assessed their social support, depressive symptoms, optimism, and self-efficacy. The results revealed that the higher levels of social support predicted the lower levels of depressive symptoms, the higher levels of optimism, and self-efficacy. In addition, the higher levels of optimism and self-efficacy predicted the lower levels of depressive symptoms. Lastly, the mediation analysis indicated that optimism and self-efficacy mediated the negative relationship between social support and depressive symptoms. That is, college students who highly perceived social support reported higher levels of optimism and self-efficacy, which led to lower levels of depressive symptoms. Finally, the implication and limitations of the present research were discussed and the directions for developing research were suggested.

The Convergent effect of Self-Efficacy and Social support on Self-Leadership in Nursing Students (간호대학생의 자기효능감과 사회적 지지가 셀프리더십에 미치는 융복합적 영향)

  • The purpose of the study was to investigate the effect of self-efficacy and social support on self-leadership in nursing students. A self-reported questionnaire was completed by 237 nursing students from September to October 2017, and the study instruments comprised self-efficacy, social support, and self-leadership. The data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficients, and multiple linear regression using SPSS/WIN 21.0 program. The result showed that the difference in self-leadership relating to general characteristics were significant leader experience, friendship, and school club activities. The correlation among self-efficacy, social support, and self-leadership were significant, and the significant factors influencing self-leadership in nursing students were self-efficacy and social support. In order to increase self-leadership of nursing students, it is necessary to develop and apply a program that enhances self-efficacy and social support. This will help them grow into a competent nurse.

  • This study is a descriptive correlation study to investigate the mediating effect of familiarity and social support in the relationship between grit and academic continuity for Mongolian students. A survey was conducted from May 1 to June 30, 2021 on 124 Mongolian students from universities across the country using Google questionnaires. As a result of the study, grit had a significant effect on the familiarity and social support of Korean culture. The intention to continue school was significantly influenced by grit, familiarity with Korean culture, and social support. Grit directly had a significant effect on academic continuity, and familiarity with Korean culture and social support had a partial mediating effect in the relationship between grit and academic continuity. Based on the results of this study, it is necessary to increase grit and seek counseling and education programs to help using Korean cultural familiarity and social support systems.

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the structural relationship and confirm the effect of labor as a civil servant in charge of civil affairs how excessive social support and delayed tension affect psychological exhaustion. The results are as follow. First, as a result of analyzing the structural relationship between Emotional Labor, social support, perceived stress, and psychological exhaustion of Civil Affairs Officials, Emotional Labor of civil Civil Affairs Officials has a positive effect on social support, perceived stress, and psychological exhaustion. Social support had a significant negative effect on psychological exhaustion. Perceived stress was found to have a positive effect on psychological exhaustion. Second, as a result of soldering the labor effect of social support and involved tension in the relationship between labor and psychological burnout of public officials in charge of financial resources, a partial mediating effect was confirmed.The object should be used to first respond to and show the reinforcement of social support and the reduction of painted pressure, identified as labor variables, before farmers appear.
