The Effects of Business Value Orientation on the Productivity and Performances: Comparative Study between IT and non-IT SME Companies (기업의 가치지향성이 업무생산성과 경영성과에 미치는 영향: 중소 IT기업과 비IT기업의 비교연구를 중심으로)

  • The purpose of the this study is to analyze what business value orientations are more effective on the enhancement of productivity and performance indexes of IT companies. Especially we are interest in the moderate effect of business types such as IT manufacturing, IT services, and non-IT manufacturing companies. The empirical test results was somehow different from the theoretical researches. Customer orientation affects productivity directly and performance indexes indirectly. Whereas, technology innovation orientation didn't affects productivity and performance indexes directly, except IT services companies. Corporate social responsibility affects performance indexes directly, but not productivity. We could conclude that the type of business is an important moderator between business value orientations and enterprise performance factors.

  • This study purports to examine the potential determinants of welfare attitudes of Korean Youth. In a sense, this study could be considered as exploratory since the independent variables for model are chosen in a somewhat arbitrary manner. The independent variables are mostly value orientation of Youth. The welfare attitude is measured by the question asking respondent's nonnative idea on the primary care-giver in the old age. Data has been collected by National Youth Policy Institute as a part of research project, named "Korean Youth Development Indicators". The analysis shows that the welfare attitudes of Korean youth is influenced. by a number of factors. such as parent's education, a proxy for the parents' SES, attitude toward equality. and state's responsibility in general. The author contends that although this is an exploratory kind of study, this study contributes not only to the research in the field, hut also to the welfare policy-makers by providing generalizable outcomes on the value and attitudes of Korean youth on welfare issues. After all, policy needs public supports to be sustained.

The Effects of Digital Consumption Trust and Corporate Trust on IT Device and Service Satisfaction

  • Recently, trust in online transactions and corporate trust are most important at the corporate level as social overhead capital in commercial transactions using digital devices such as online, mobile, and SNS platforms. Therefore, this study used data from the Korea Consumer Agency's consumer policy indicators to identify the impact of digital consumption trust and corporate responsibility trust on the satisfaction of information and communication products and services. According to the analysis, trust in digital consumption conditions and responsibility of companies have a positive impact on satisfaction of information and communication devices and satisfaction of information and communication services. In addition, it was found that trust in corporate responsibility has a greater impact on satisfaction of information and communication devices and satisfaction of information and communication services than trust in digital consumption conditions. Theoretical and practical implications for these findings and suggestions for future research were presented.

  • Companies are making great efforts to integrate CSR into various aspects of their management strategies. A lot of research has been conducted on what management intends to do indirectly and indirectly. Was performed. In this study, we conducted additional research considering executive compensation as an indicator of the motivation for management to participate in CSR. The main purpose of this study was to analyze whether accounting performance measures or market performance measures are given more weight when providing rewards for performance to corporate managers conducting CSR activities. The analysis of the relationship between CSR and executive performance-reward sensitivity showed that corporate executives who actively implement CSR pay more weight to market performance measures rather than accounting performance measures. Considering the long-term performance of CSR when paying executives' compensation, the company pays more for market performance than accounting performance. This study is expected to be useful for executives to design compensation contracts to actively induce CSR implementation.

Bayesian Network Analysis for the Dynamic Prediction of Financial Performance Using Corporate Social Responsibility Activities (베이지안 네트워크를 이용한 기업의 사회적 책임활동과 재무성과)

  • This study analyzes the impact of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities on financial performances using Bayesian Network. The research tries to overcome the issues of the uniform assumption of a linear function between financial performance and CSR activities in multiple regression analysis widely used in previous studies. It is required to infer a causal relationship between activities of CSR which have an impact on the financial performances. Identifying the relationship would empower the firms to improve their financial performance by informing the decision makers about the different CSR activities that influence the financial performance of the firms. This research proposes General Bayesian Network (GBN) and presents Markov Blanket induced from GBN. It is empirically demonstrated that all the proposals presented in this study are statistically significant by the results of the research conducted by Korean Economic Justice Institute (KEJI) under Citizen's Coalition for Economic Justice (CCEJ) which investigated approximately 200 companies in Korea based on Korean Economic Justice Institute Index (KEJI index) from 2005 to 2011. The Bayesian Network to effectively infer the properties affecting financial performances through the probabilistic causal relationship. Moreover, I found that there is a causal relationship among CSR activities variable; that is Environment protection is related to Customer protection, Employee satisfaction, and firm size; Soundness is related to Total CSR Evaluation Score, Debt-Assets Ratio. Though the what-if analysis, I suggest to the sensitive factor among the explanatory variables.

Development and Validation of the Parental Role Responsibilities Scale (부모의 양육 역할 책임 척도 개발 및 타당화 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to develop and validate the parental roles and responsibilities for young children. A survey was conducted on 301 parents with children attending preschools. The parental roles and responsibilities scale were determined from a total of 60 items and 11 sub-factors based on the criteria for goodness, validity, and reliability of items (i.e., factor load ≥ 0.5; AVE ≥ 0.5; CR ≥ 0.7; Cronbach's alpha ≥ 0.7). The parental roles and responsibilities scale include 'hygiene management' (4 items), 'physical activities' (6 items), 'survival and health care' (6 items), 'cognitive development' (5 items), 'emotional stability' (5 items), 'social skills' (6 items), 'social norms and values' (7 items), 'physical environment' (5 items), 'protection' (5 items), 'family community consciousness and family tradition' (4 items), and 'the role and responsibility of parents for childcare institutions' (7 items). It is significant that the indicators on the parental roles and responsibilities for young children were developed and verified to fit the situation in Korea. Findings will help identify the characteristics of parental role responsibilities and serve as a basis for efficient communication between parents and preschoolers.parental role responsibilities and serve as a basis for efficient communication between parents and preschools.

  • 본 연구는 발달적 위기에 놓여있는 중년여성의 피로도와 스트레스 저항력 그리고 정서와의 상관관계를 알아보기 위하여 뇌신경 생리학적 지표인 뇌파 측정을 이용하여 분석해 보고자 하였다. 2005년 3월부터 2009년 6월까지 한국정신과학연구소에 뇌파 측정을 의뢰한 우리나라 중년여성 4403명(35세~65세)을 기준으로 선정된 뇌기능 지수(긴장도, 항스트레스지수, 정서지수)를 시계열 선형분석과 상관분석으로 한 결과 중년여성의 피로도, 스트레스 저항력 그리고 정서에는 밀접한 관계가 있었다. 그러므로 사회적으로나 가정적으로 성숙하고 책임감 있는 중년여성의 역할이 필요한 현대사회에서, 중년기의 심리적 생리적 문제에 적극적으로 대처하는 것이 개인생활은 물론 가족의 원만한 기능과 안녕을 유지, 증진하는데 반드시 필요하다.

A Study on the Service Satisfaction of University Library Portal for Chinese Students in Korea (중국 유학생의 대학도서관 포털 서비스 만족도에 관한 연구)

  • This study deals with the role and responsibility of university library in multicultural society. For this purpose, centered the Chinese students in Pusan University, with internet questionnaire surveys on customer satisfaction to the current library portal service and set up a effective digital library evaluation model. In the meanwhile we borrowed evaluation methods and items from LibQUAL+ in part, a world wide famous model, and use Tsinghua University Library's evaluation statistic norms. To summarize the results of this survey, Chinese student's service satisfaction about Pusan University library is still fairly low. Undergraduate and graduate students(including doctor courses) group follows, undergraduates student's satisfaction level is lower than graduate. By analyzing simple satisfaction we can know that library portal service maintained low importance or influence to the user, to internet space user's satisfaction is a relatively high level. And compared with other dimension, statistic data show out that internet space user's satisfaction still maintained a relative high level.

Effectiveness of Evaluation for Visiting Care Service Institution: From the User's Point of View (방문요양서비스 기관 평가의 효과성 : 이용자 관점에서)

  • The purpose of this study is to confirm the effectiveness of the evaluation of long-term care insurance visiting care service institutions for the elderly from the user's point of view. To this end, data from a survey of 266 users collected through allocation sampling by region(14 cities and counties) in Jeollabuk-do and public data from 47 institutions were combined and analyzed using a multi-layered model. The main research results are as follows. First, among the five evaluation areas, the higher the score in the 'Rights·Responsibility' area, which is to give users a sense of rights and respect users, the higher the service quality and satisfaction. Second, among the five evaluation areas, the 'Rights·Responsibility' area had an effect on loyalty. In addition, it was found that the 'Outcome' area for satisfaction with institutions and employees and changes in users had an effect on loyalty. Third, it was found that 'Institutional Management', 'Environment·Safety', 'Process' did not affect service quality, satisfaction, and loyalty. Based on these results, it is proposed to reorganize the evaluation scale that users can recognize and that is faithful to the purpose.

  • Along with the mood of 'Beyond GDP', it is necessary to explore how these subjective concepts such as happiness and well-being are quantified to be compared among many countries. The concept of 'Work-life balance (WLB)' is likely to be located on the boundary between the subjective and objective areas. Thus, this article aims to examine the policies related to WLB and how to change or develop those policies considering the concept of WLB and the circumstantial particularity of Korea. There are several suggestions on certain developments in the existing policies interfering WLB at three levels. First the government needs to conduct campaigns to transform traditional gender roles through active advertisement. Second, the company needs to use the long-lasting 'hierarchical organisation culture' for employee's work-life balance for regulating working hours and exhausting paid holidays and maternity or paternity leave. Finally, families should understand and support their wives' current circumstances facing the struggle between a mother and economic worker.
