The first phenomenon which participants experience within their lifetime was 'incomplete relationship'. This was a trigger to become alcohol dependence. The researchers whom participated in this research focused on the first alcohol intake. The first drink has been given a unique meaning as 'characteristic symbol system'. While the participants were choosing alcohol, dailiness, a continuum of daily life emerged. With dailiness aspect, alcohol dependence goes through a process of 'invasion or penetration'. Through these processes alcohol dependent experience among women became 'meaninglessness and mirage'. According to these results undertone to approach women alcohol dependence was able to be deducted.

  • Although the need for global citizenship education (GCE) has been emphasized globally, Korea lacks GCE for child welfare workers who affect children's global citizenship. In response, this study analyzed the reality of educational needs by (a) investigating domestic and international GCE policies, (b) doing the in-depth interviews with experts, and (c) surveying workers. According to the policy analysis, GCE in Korea has been mainly conducted through the school system but it was conducted in various ways worldwide. The need to expand GCE in Korea was also emphasized in the in-depth interview. The survey analysis showed that the path relationship among awareness-interest-desire to participate in GCE was significant, indicating that increasing awareness and interest for GCE was effective in real action. Based on this, we confirmed that GCE is a necessary education for child welfare workers, emphasized the need to raise awareness of GCE based on the AIDA model, and presented indicators that can be used for GCE.

  • The purpose of this study is to propose a theoretical model for understanding how marital satisfaction and depression may impact on suicide ideation of older people. This study was also focused on the mediating effect of depression. To achieve this purpose, a survey was conducted, and this sample was based on 194 older people aged over 65 living in Jeollabuk-Do, who had been participating in senior centers or in home care centers. A sampling method was the quota sampling using face to face interview, and an analysis method was the structural equation modeling. The main results testified by this study are as follows; First, the negative function of marital satisfaction had direct effect on the suicidal ideation and depression, while the positive function of depression had direct impacts on the suicidal ideation. Second, the depression mediated partially the association between marital satisfaction and suicidal ideation. This study theoretically contributes to the existing literatures documenting the impact of marital satisfaction on older people' suicide ideation. Not only that, but this study suggests practical and politic implication through these results.
