The purposes of this article are to criticize social services, and to consider alternative caring policies and social economic regime to cope with caring blank, in the view point of A. Gorz. According to Gorz, in the value of growth of capitalism, people who are in charge of household affairs and caring work make inroads into the wage market. At this point, as caring blank is occured, social services are emerged. These new aspects are 'Commodification and Rationalization of Private Life'. This article suggests alternative ideas to these aspects. First, universal care giver·breadwinner model, second, the dominance of eco-reason and shorter working hours.

This study aimed to explore the moderating effect of social support resources on the life satisfaction and caregiving burden of family caregivers taking care of the elderly in long-term care services. The study participants were selected from among the family caregivers utilizing 30 home care centers in Seoul, Korea. Of the candidates who agreed to participate in the study, 250 caregivers who had supported the elderly at home for at least 6 months were selected. The data collected were analyzed using SPSS ver. 21.0. The study findings were as follows. First, the whole family caregivers' caregiving burden of family caregivers was found to be slightly higher than the median value. More specifically, the physical burden was the heaviest, followed by the family relationship burden, the social activity burden, the emotional burden, and the financial burden. Social support resources and life satisfaction were found to be a little bit higher than the median value. Second, the variables that statistically significantly increased life satisfaction, starting with the strongest effect, were a lower psycho emotional burden, greater informational support resources, a lower economical burden, greater emotional support, a younger caregiver age, a higher monthly income, and a shorter care period. Third, informational support resources were found to have a moderating effect on the relationship between the support burden and life satisfaction. The more the participants used the informational support resource subcategory of the social support resources, the narrower the life satisfaction decrease, even though the caregivers felt a support burden. Informational support resources appear to have a statistically significant buffering effect.
Purpose: This study was conducted to determine factors affecting the positive feelings and care burden of elderly residents' primary caregivers in long-term care facilities. Methods: The survey was conducted between November and December 2018. A structured questionnaire was used to collect data, and 148 individuals voluntarily participated. The collected data were examined through descriptive statistical analysis using SPSS WIN ver.24.0, t-test, one-way Anova $Scheff{\acute{e}}$ test, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and multiple regression. Results: Factors that significantly affected caregivers' positive feelings included caregivers' education level(${\beta}=-.32$, p<.001), social support(${\beta}=.31$, p<.001), care burden(${\beta}=-.29$, p=.001), and total support fee(not more than 1.5million won)(${\beta}=-.18$, p=.012). The explanation power was as high as 40.0%(Adj $R^2=.40$). Factors that significantly affected caregivers' burden included social support(${\beta}=-.25$, p=.002), positive feelings(${\beta}=-.25$, p=.002), elderly individual's religion(${\beta}=-.17$, p=.007), and elderly individual's marriage status(${\beta}=.17$, p=.021). The explanation power was as high as 45.0%(Adj $R^2=.45$). Conclusion: Our results suggest that it is necessary to increase social support for elderly residents' primary caregivers in long-term care facilities. This can be helpful to decrease burden and enhance positive feelings in caregivers. We should also collect caregivers' information as well to provide appropriate assistance.
The purpose of this study is to verify the effect of burden of support for unmarried adult children on the depression of married women and the mediating effect of couple conflict in the process. To this end, 1,076 married women with baby boomer husbands and unmarried adult children were extracted based on the data from the 7th year of the Women and Family Panel (KLoWF) and analyzed by using a structural equation. Looking at the results of the analysis, first, the burden of supporting unmarried adult children had a positive(+) effect on the depression of married women, and also had a positive(+) effect on couple conflict. Second, it was found that couple conflict had a positive(+) effect on the depression of married women. Third, couple conflict was found to play a role as a partial mediator between the burden of supporting unmarried adult children and the feeling of depression. Based on the above findings, the study suggested the various programs to resolve couple conflicts and decrease the depression of married women.
Adult child caregivers and spousal caregivers might deal with differential challenges. Studies about caregivers' psychological outcomes, however, tended to investigate associations between caregiving and its outcomes by pooling adult child caregivers and spousal caregivers together. By using a U. S. sample of family caregivers who assisted a relative with dementia, this study examined whether the relationship of caregivers to care receivers (daughter caregivers or spousal caregivers) made a difference in levels of depressive symptoms. The result showed that wife caregivers were more likely to be depressed than daughter caregivers. For daughter caregivers, role overload, role captivity, and behavior problems significantly influenced on depression. Besides these variables, the level of education was a significant predictor for wife caregivers. Role captivity and behavior problems significantly impacted on depression for husband caregivers. Thus, role captivity and behavioral problems were common predictors for all the caregivers. Specifically, higher levels of role captivity and behavioral problems were likely to make caregivers more depressed. The implication of these results were discussed.
The adult guardianship system has taken into effect in Korea 3 years ago, but as the system settlement is comparatively late than other countries, there is a need for specific countermeasure to actualize the optimized system. Therefore, this study has analyzed factors influencing the adult guardianship system subjecting the dependent family members of the disabled and dotard by applying the behavioral model suggested by Anderson & Newman. This study utilized SPSS 18.0 for analysis, and the study results are as follows. First, the level of intention to use adult guardianship system was average. Second, the most influential factors of using adult guardianship system were social stigma among need factors, financial status among enabling factors, and the relationship with the caregivers, and academic level among the predisposing factors. Based on such empirical analysis results, this study provides with the fundamental references for early settlement and proper management of adult guardianship system, and proposed specific practical strategy necessary for the guardian and dependent family.
The purpose of this study was to identify the factors influencing the level of nursing needs of a long-term care service user at home and the care giving burden of a primary caregiver. For this study, data were collected from 152 primary caregivers in J City with self-administered questionnaires and analyzed using multiple regression technique. Among the nursing needs of long-term care giving service users, the level of psychological and social requests was the highest. This study found that two characteristics variables(long-term care insurance benefit level and long-term care giving grade) had difference was statistically significant in physical nursing needs and psychological nursing needs. Out of care giving burden of primary caregivers, physical care giving burden was found to be the highest. Out of factors influencing care giving burden, daily care giving hours was the factor which had strongest influence. Basic living recipients and female primary caregivers showed higher care giving burden. The more care givers there were, the less care giving burden became.
