The Effect of Management Innovation on the Relationship between Corporate Social Responsibility and Financial Performance (국내 제조기업의 경영혁신이 사회적책임활동과 재무성과간의 관계에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study is to present the direction of CSR activities for sustainable management by analyzing the mediating effect of management innovation on the relationship between corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities and financial performance. In order to verify the research hypothesis, the results of the questionnaire of 517 employees of domestic manufacturing companies were obtained and analyzed using SPSS 18.0 and AMOS 20.0. First, CSR activities have a positive effect on management innovation. Second, management innovation and financial performance showed a positive relationship. Third, we confirmed the mediating effect of management innovation on CSR activities and financial performance. Lastly, we can confirm only the partial control effect according to the size of company in the relation of CSR activity and management innovation. It is necessary to establish systematic theories between CSR activities and financial performance through further analysis of various parameters in the future.

  • This study examined that how the corporate social responsibilities of a social enterprise affect their image and product attitude. In particular, separating into a real self-image and social self-image, the moderate effects of the accordance of self-image were tested. The results showed that each corporate social responsibility of a social enterprise affects their image except for social image. In addition, an accordance of the real self-image moderates the effect of the corporate activity image and social contribution activity image on the product attitude.

  • Concerning the circumstance of corporate management, which is the appearance of various stakeholder and the possibility of widespread in irresponsible rumours, the objective rating a company in more highly emphasized in these time. According to the situation, various measures are being suggested. One of those efforts, environmental, sustainable, or corporate social responsible(CSR) aspects, which are based on the environmental risk reduction capability are regarded as an important component. In this study, we reviewed the CSR, which is most important Survival factor to the KEPCO's sustainability and some issues are suggested to maximize the KEPCO's corporate value.

  • This study interprets the corporate social responsibility and its management through analysis of philosophical view of Mozi(墨子). Mozi was a chinese philosopher during the Hundred Schools of Thought period. He advocated Universal love(兼愛), which stresses that people should care for everyone equally. This principle is in accord with the sustainable management strategy for global market environments. The realization of the value that the company pursues in the rapid growth of such enterprises is an important issue. The pursuit of corporate value in its own interest under the rapidly changing business environment is perceived very negative. And it has demanded a different philosophy as a new management philosophy. The philosophical strategies of these companies were centered around the core philosophy of the ancient Chinese philosopher, Mozi. It is not merely an outcome approach as the act or moral principle but the inner motive to love each other and the principle of sharing the profits of each other. In order to pursue the sustainable value of the enterprise, We would like to suggest a way to pursue the existing absolute value, and to suggest a philosophical strategy based on the philosophy of Mozi.

  • 인간의 생태계를 근본적으로 위협하고 있는 기후변화와 같은 환경오염 문제는 글로벌 경쟁시대의 기업 경영에 있어 강력한 제재요인 중 하나로 관심이 집중되고 있다. 국내에서도 이러한 환경문제가 중요 이슈로 부각되고 있는데, 특히 인류생존에 필수적인 자연환경을 기반으로 사업을 영위하는 농업분야는 더욱 깊은 연관성을 갖는다. 정부는 이러한 농업분야에 대하여 도시와 농촌 간 소득 불균형이나 농촌인구 노령화 등의 문제를 해결하고 미래 성장산업으로 발전시키고자 6차산업화 인증 제도를 시행 중에 있으며 앞으로의 성장이 기대된다. 또한 최근 기업의 환경을 포함하는 사회적 책임활동에 대한 관심이 높아지고 능동적으로 참여하려는 소비자의 특성 변화에 따라 6차산업화 인증을 받은 기업들도 성장하기 위해서는 기업 활동의 근간이 되는 소비자 니즈에 더욱 집중할 필요성이 제기되므로 기업의 새로운 성장 방안으로써 고객과 환경에 집중하고 사회적 가치를 창출해 나가야 할 것으로 추측된다. 이에 본 연구에서는 6차산업화 인증을 받은 기업을 대상으로 고객지향성과 경영성과 간 관계에서 환경지향성이 조절효과를 가지는 지를 밝히고자 하였으며, 연구 결과 고객지향성은 경영성과에 정(+)의 영향을 미치며, 이러한 관계 속에서 환경지향성은 정(+)의 조절효과를 가진다는 것을 실증하였다. 즉, 6차산업화 인증기업이 경영성과를 제고시키기 위해서는 소비자의 변화와 기업이 수행해야 할 사회적 책임을 명확히 인식하여, 소비자 니즈기반의 환경보존과 같은 사회적 가치를 창출하고 공유하려는 친환경 지향적인 새로운 혁신전략을 수립하고 실행해 나가야 할 것이며 이를 통해 지속적인 성장을 견인할 수 있을 것이다.

  • Corporations report their economical, environmental, social influences and achievements through sustainability reports. Apart from the financial reports, which are subject to legal restrictions, sustainability reports inform non financial achievements of a corporation, thus the reliability of the information is solely dependent on the corporation itself. The current sustainability reports are of types that cannot include proof or source of the index data, thus they are tended to be regarded as means of publicity. The reliability of the reports is often questioned. This research applied the concept of Evidence-Based Accountability, which will allow the confirmation of accountability through records including contents and context of the tasks. Evidence-Based Accountability means producing and accumulating witness records of actions, then managing the records as usable information and use them as accountability information. Index data from sustainability reports of domestic corporations and web based reports of Vodafone was reviewed. Measures to link task records as proof of index data was studied. To make this possible, record production and acquisition system was redesigned in order to secure required records as evidence. Linked build-up of SR system and RMS was proposed. The proposed system will allow collection and management of records as SR accountability information, and provide the data when necessary. Also, corporate infrastructure was proposed. This infrastructure will build a professional records management system in stages, through organizational system and regulations. Cooperation of staff in this infrastructure will support reliable corporate accountability.

Building CSR through Organizational Acts of Compassion (조직 내 컴페션 행동을 통한 기업의 사회적 책임)

  • Our study builds up a theoretical model to explain how individual compassion in organizations affects the macro concept of corporate social responsibility (CSR). A theoretical framework conceptualizes whereby individual compassions in work organizations responding to others' suffering generate positive or negative organizational identity, which impact their CSR activities. That is, we proposes that authentic compassion will develop positive organizational identity and then leads to proactive CSR, while pseudo compassion will trigger negative organizational identity and in turn results in reactive CSR. This study aims to explain the antecedents of firms' CSR in terms of individual compassion in organizations, interacted with the dynamics of organizational identity.
