Fertility Differentials by Demographic and Socioeconomic Characteristics: Analysis of Korean Population Census Data (인구 및 사회경제적 차별출산력 - 인구센서스 자료분석을 중심으로)

  • 본 연구는 한국 기혼여성의 차별출산력 분석으로 인구학적 특성으로 연령, 초혼연령, 혼인상태 및 가족유형(가구구성)을 포함하구 사회경제적 특성으로 거주지역, 교육정도, 경제활동상태, 직업 및 주택 점유형태를 포함하였다. 통계청의 인구주택총조사를 원자료로 하여 인구 및 사회경제적 변인들이 출산력에 미친 영향을 파악하기 위하여 다변량 분석기법을 이용하였다. 초혼연령이 높아지면서 출산수준은 현저히 낮아졌으며, 배우자와 동거하는 기혼부인의 출생아수가 가장 많았으며, 이혼한 경우 가장 적었다. 자녀양육을 위한 부모의 도움을 받을 수 있는 3세대 이상 가족이 동거하는 가구의 경우 출산수준이 상대적으로 높았다. 그러나 최근 이혼이 급증하면서 유배우 상태가 빠르게 감소하구 1세대나 독신가구의 증가와 3세대 이상 가구의 감소는 앞으로의 출산수준을 더욱 빠르게 할 것이다. 사회경제적 특성별 차이에서도 유사한 현상을 발견할 수 있었다. 도시규모가 클수록, 학력수준이 높을수록, 전문사무직종에 근무할 경우, 그리고 전월세로 거주할 경우에 출산수준이 낮았다. 사회경제적 특성별 출생아수의 차이는 1980년에 가장 컸으며, 그 후 지속적으로 감소하고 있다. 더욱이 출산수준이 높은 농촌인구의 급감, 교육수준의 향상으로 교육간 차이의 감소 농어업직에 종사하는 기혼여성의 감소 등은 전체적인 출산수준을 빠르게 감소시키는 요인으로 작용하였다. 기혼부인의 특성별 출생아수의 차이는 여전히 뚜렷하였으나 그 차이는 점차 감소하고 있다. 또한, 출생아수가 많은 집단의 구성비가 빠르게 줄어드는 것을 감안하면 전체적인 출산수준의 감소는 더욱 빨라질 수 있다. 앞으로 2005년 인구주택총조사의 결과가 발표될 때 그 간의 특성별 출생아수의 차이와 인구구성비의 변화를 분석하면 대체출산수준에 근접한 1980년 이후 빠른 출산력의 감소원인을 이해하고 출산력의 장래 변화를 효과적으로 예측하는데 도움이 될 것이다.

The Impact of Childcare Workforce Cost on Fertility Rates (육아 인력 비용이 출산율에 미치는 영향)

  • This study comparatively analyzed the impact of childcare workforce cost on fertility rates across different countries. In the cases of Nordic countries, comprehensive childcare support policies and subsidies for childcare workforce costs were found to have a positive impact on fertility rates. In contrast, high childcare burden and economic pressures were identified as major factors contributing to declining fertility rates in East Asian countries. In developing countries, the effectiveness of childcare support policies varied depending on the socioeconomic context. This study suggests that the impact of childcare workforce cost on fertility rates manifests in diverse patterns across countries, and effective childcare support policies require tailored approaches that consider each country's specific circumstances. In the future, increased social investment in childcare and the spread of a culture that respects the value of care are necessary.

Investigation on the Health Inequality in China (중국 건강불평등 현상에 대한 고찰)

  • In this study, we aimed to identify the impact of socioeconomic characteristics on the health status of Chinese, which suggests that there might be the phenomena of health inequality in China. We used the year 2000, 2004 and 2009 pooled cross-sectional data of China Health and Nutrition Survey (CHNS), and utilized the Ordinary Least Square model (OLS) and Ordered Logit Estimation Method for this purpose. Empirical results showed that socioeconomic status and year dummy variables have a meaningful impact on Chinese health status. Therefore, we conclude that the phenomenon of health inequality has existed in China since 2000.

Attitudes toward Social Values and Economic Values of Social Enterprise Workers (사회적기업 근로자의 사회적 가치와 경제적 가치에 대한 태도)

  • The purpose of this study was to identify employees' perception of social and economic values that social enterprises pursue and to provide implications for the training of social enterprise workers. The main results are as follows. First, more than half of the social enterprise workers recognized that economic value and social value were equally important. In addition, the responsibilities of realizing corporate social values were somewhat higher than those of employees. The social value of the social enterprise should be pursued in preference to the value for the company and its members. However, efforts to set goals for the social value of social enterprises were lacking. Second, social enterprise workers generally had a high perception of economic value and recognized that the responsibility and effort of management was more important than the employees in order to realize economic value. Third, the higher the age of workers, the higher the importance of social value than economic value, emphasized the responsibility of the manager, and the less the work experience, the more important is the social value and the manager's responsibility. While commercial enterprise workers are highly aware of the importance of economic value, non-profit enterprise workers are highly aware of the importance of social value. In the future, it will be necessary to provide an educational support program that allows workers to recognize the social and economic value of social enterprises in a balanced manner. Efforts are needed to develop, monitor and monitor standardized measures for measuring the value of social enterprises.

  • 공간정보는 국토공간의 물리.환경적, 사회.경제적, 법.제도적 특징 등을 모두 포함한 정보라고 하겠다. 즉 공간정보는 지형.지물, 소유권을 나타낼 뿐 아니라 공간에서 일어나는 각종 활동에 대한 통계적인 내용을 포함하는 정보이므로 통합정보라고 할 수 있다. 우리나라의 경우 종래에는 통합정보의 개념에서 공간정보가 구축된 것이 아니고 지형과 지물등을 나타내는 정보는 건설교통부와 국립지리원에서, 소유권을 나타내는 정보 즉 지적과 토지소유권과 관련된 정보는 내무부에서, 공간내에서 발생하는 사회, 경제적 활동을 나타내는 정보는 통계청과 지방자체단체 및 기타 기관에서 생성하였다.

The Impact of Social Identity and Social Alliance on Economic Performance in Social Enterprises (사회적 기업의 사회적 정체성과 사회적 협업 관계가 경제적 성과에 미치는 요인분석)

  • The present study investigates the relationship between social competence and economic performance in social enterprises. Social enterprises simultaneously pursue social value creation and economic value creation, two of which are not easily compatible each other. This study explores the conditions under which these two values can synergize with each other and thereby, positively affect each other's performance. In particular, I examine how two important social competences, that is, social identity and social alliance, influence economic performance of social enterprises. Using the secondary data on social enterprises from Korea Social Enterprise Promotion Agency, I run OLS regression analyses to test hypotheses. I find that investment on social value creation, only when it aligns with social identity, has a statistically significant and positive relationship with economic performance of social enterprises. Further, the study finds evidence that social alliance in and of itself does not affect economic performance of social enterprises. However, social alliance does have a positive influence on social enterprises' economic performance, only when taking into account social alliance partners' organizational attributes and a focal social enterprise's degree of readiness to absorb expected gains from social alliance altogether. The present study improves our understanding on social entrepreneurship research by suggesting how social enterprises can enhance two seemingly incompatible values in a simultaneous manner. I also discuss potentially fruitful future research agenda based on the present paper's findings.

A Study on the Effects of Social Enterprise Government Subsidies for Social and Economic Performance (사회적기업 정부지원금이 사회적·경제적 성과에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyse on the effect of social enterprises governmental subsidies for social and economic performance. For this analysis, the sample is listed to the disclosure data from Korean Social Enterprise Promotion Agency from 2016 to 2018. First, the governmental subsidies of Social Enterprises are negatively related to the social performance and economic performance. The personnel expenses and social insurance expense in governmental subsidies components are positively significant related to the social performance of social enterprises. The professional manpower expenses and business development expenses are positively significant related to the economic performance of social enterprises. This can be interpreted as contributing to the creation of results according to the purpose of social enterprises for each item of government subsidies, and through this, it is judged that it is necessary to establish specific and customized support policies in order to increase the effectiveness of the government subsidies and increase the satisfaction of social enterprises.

The Impact of Socioeconomic Status on Quality of Life among Breast Cancer Survivors : Focusing on Breast Cancer Survivors in Their 40s (유방암 생존자의 사회경제적 지위가 삶의 질에 미치는 영향 : 40대 유방암 생존자를 대상으로)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the impact of socioeconomic status on quality of life(QOL) among breast cancer survivors. The data were from breast cancer survivors in their forties, among whom the prevalence in terms of age was the highest in Korea. A total of 607 cases were analyzed and the mean scores of QOL measured by FACT-B were 93.75(SD=21.50). After controlling for the other socio-demographic and medical variables, QOL was significantly correlated to income and job type, which confirms the association between high socioeconomic status and better QOL. Specifically, groups with higher income($${\geq_-}4$$ million won/month, ${\beta}=0.11$, p= .03) and groups with self-employed(${\beta}=0.10$, p= .01) or professional/managerial(${\beta}=0.17$, p< .001) job type showed significantly better QOL. The need for more attention and support, including formal and informal resources, for breast cancer survivors with low socio-economic status and the implication for practice were discussed.

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the influence of orgaizational capability(Organizational management capability, marketing capability, relationship formation capability, governance capability) of management perceived by the members of the social enterprise on performance of organization(both economic and social). For such goal, empirical analysis of research hypothesis 1 (organizational competence and economic performance) and research hypothesis 2 (organizational competence and social performance) was conducted using the statistical program of IBM SPSS 24.0 for the final 195 candidates who work in social enterprise. Both hypothesis 1 and 2 were adopted, as the result of the hypothesis 1 and 2, H1-1 H2-1 (organizational management competence and economic performance and social performance), H1-2 H2-2 (marketing competence and economic performance social performance), H1-3 H2-3 (relationship formation competence, economic performance, and social performance), and H1-4 H2-4 (governance capability and economic performance and social performance) all have a significant effect on economic and social performance. Therefore, the importance of organizational capability of management, executive body of social enterprises, was emphasized for the success and strive of social enterprise and sustainable management. Therefore, it is necessary to establish an education and training system to strategically develop and strengthen the organizational capability of the management, and provide a systematic and long-termed education system and training.
