  • A new approach to improve the speaker adaptation algorithm by means of the variable number of observation density functions for CDHMM speech recognizer has been proposed. The proposed method uses the observation density function with more than one mixture in each state to represent speech characteristics in detail. The number of mixtures in each state is determined by the number of frames and the determinant of the variance, respectively. The each MAP Parameter is extracted in every mixture determined by these two methods. In addition, the state segmentation method requiring speaker adaptation can segment the adapting speech more Precisely by using speaker-independent model trained from sufficient database as a priori knowledge. And the state duration distribution is used lot adapting the speech duration information owing to speaker's utterance habit and speed. The recognition rate of the proposed methods are significantly higher than that of the conventional method using one mixture in each state.

  • This paper presents hybrid classification method to improve the performance of satellite images classification by combining Bayesian maximum likelihood classifier, ISODATA clustering and fuzzy C-Means algorithm. In this paper, the training data of each class were generated by separating the spectral signature using ISODATA clustering. We can classify according to pixel's membership grade followed by cluster center of fuzzy C-Means algorithm as the mean value of training data for each class. Bayesian maximum likelihood classifier is performed with prior probability by result of fuzzy C-Means classification. The results shows that proposed method could improve performance of classification method and also perform classification with no concern about spectral signature of the training data. The proposed method Is applied to a Landsat TM satellite image for the verifying test.

  • Habruta is a question-based learning that talks, discusses, and argues in pairs. In particular, the famous painting Habruta is being implemented for the purpose of enhancing the appreciation ability of paintings and enriching the expressive power through questions and answers about the famous paintings. In this study, in order to support the famous painting Habruta for oriental paintings, we propose a method of automatically generating questions from the gender perspective of oriental painting characters using the current deep learning technology. Specifically, in this study, based on the pre-trained model, VGG16, we propose a model that can effectively analyze the features of Asian paintings by performing fine-tuning. In addition, we classify the types of questions into three types: fact, imagination, and applied questions used in the famous Habruta, and subdivide each question according to the character to derive a total of 9 question patterns. In order to verify the feasibilityof the proposed methodology, we conducted an experiment that analyzed 300 characters of actual oriental paintings. As a result of the experiment, we confirmed that the gender classification model according to our methodology shows higher accuracy than the existing model.

  • The 2017 Pohang earthquake left us with issues related to long-term repair and restoration from massive earthquake damage. The existing Earthquake response manual was insufficient to consider the flow of earthquake disaster work and the characteristics of long-lasting earthquake disaster. Accordingly, It is important to analyze and record how to earthquake response work was carried out during the Pohang earthquake. The functions that require the most work and manpower in the event of an earthquake disaster were emergency life stabilization support, facility emergency recovery, and energy functional restoration. As a result of analyzing the difficulties and problems of disaster response by function, it was found that the prevention and preparation for damage in advance was insufficient for each function. In conclusion, we subdivided the response step applied with the concept of time and presented the overall work flow process for thirteen collaboration functions. It is expected that this result will help disaster managers to work effectively in the event of a large scale earthquake.

  • Thanks to the advancement of the related technologies and equipment, today's video contents like movies, animations and soap operas are rapidly expanding their expressible cinematic imagination area. In order to fulfill the elevated visual expectations of audiences and realize exciting storytelling and fantastic world, the fusion of different techniques is actively used, and the reality for visual effects and image synthesis is increasing more and more. Accordingly, recent VFX-oriented movies using CG have a much more complicated production process than before. Therefore, the importance of Pre-visualization, aka Pre-vis is becoming bigger in the planning process for sophisticated design. Pre-vis means that the advance visualization for stories or directing ideas in the planning process before starting production of movies or animations. 3D animated Pre-visualization realizing directors' abstract and ambiguous ideas in 3 dimensional environment in advance is, as a powerful means for visual storytelling, briskly used focusing on the VFX film industry on which the present CG is broadly used, and the role of Pre-vis throughout productions has increased compared to the past. The studies, however, on the role and utility of Pre-vis are not enough. Therefore, this study was conducted on the role of Pre-vis used for present VFX movie productions using the examples of 3D animated Pre-visualization production in which the researcher of this study participated. In this study, the role of the Pre-vis that is subdivided presently, is divided into and 3D animatics and their each role is analyzed with the example images. Through this, the characteristics that Pre-vis should have are clarified and the concept of the advantages and utility led by the use of Pre-vis in productions is strengthened. • Although a series of studies shows the fact that a company's reputation could affect its sales rate and stock price, due to the increased use of SNS, the research related to the online measurement method for the corporate reputation has been relatively insufficient. This study explores a design for a method to quantify the corporate reputation value by reconstructing the discussions in literature review. Concretely, this study divides the corporate reputation value into the corporate identity information and the corporate awareness information, which includes the following five sub-categories: (1) the quality of product and service; (2) the employment environment; (3) the corporate vision; (4) the social responsibility; and (5) the business achievement. Additionally, for the corporate identity assessment, this study considers the following six factors: (1) Agreeableness (Goodness), (2)Capability (Ability), (3)Enterprise (Rise), (4)Chic (Class), (5) Ruthlessness (Authority), and (6)Informality. Based on these categories and factors, this study develops a technique quantifying the corporate reputation value by selecting 'word items' for the reputation search, and after conducting a frequency analysis in a survey. Also, to verify the result, this study exemplifies the reputation of three SI companies in Korea which could be utilized by using the commercialized reputation service. This study firstly attempts the corporate reputation measurement by classifying the identity and the awareness (corporate image and communication) upon a company in detail and enables its real applicabilities by proposing a formula to measure the reputation scores which can be utilized by verified word items from a frequency analysis.

  • Recently, International Atomic Energy Agency and major leading countries in radioactive waste management tend to subdivide the categories of radioactive waste based upon risk-graded approach. In this context, the category of very low level waste has been newly introduced, or optimized management options for this kind of waste have been pursued in many countries. The application of engineered surface landfill type facilities dedicated to dispose of very low level waste has been gradually expanded, and it was analyzed that their design concept of isolation has been much advanced than those of the old fashioned surface trench-type disposal facilities for low and intermediate level waste, which were usually constructed in 1960's. In addition, the management options for very low level waste in major leading countries are varied depending upon and interfaced with the affecting factors such as: national framework for clearance, legal and practical availability of low and intermediate level waste repository and/or non-nuclear waste landfill, public acceptance toward alternative waste management options, and so forth. In this regard, it was concluded that optimized long-term management options for very low level waste in Korea should be also established in a timely manner through comprehensive review and discussions, in preparation of decommissioning of large nuclear facilities in the future, and be implemented in a systematic manner under the framework of national policy and management plan for radioactive waste management.
