  • Spectral domain of resonant frequency rectangular microstrip patch antenna on anisotropic substrates and superstrate with airgap are analyzed. First, we derive dyadic Green function for selected anisotropic material by constitutive relation and then formulate integral equations of electric fields using Fourier transform in space region. Using Galerkin's moment method, we discretize the electric field integral equations Into the matrix form and select sinusoidal functions as basis functions. We verify the validity of numerical results and compare the results with existing ones in showing a good agreement between them. The resonant frequencies in the variation of air gap, patch length and permittivity of superstrate anisotrpy ratio of anisotrpic superstrate are presented and analyzed.

  • Natural convection and radiation heat transfer in a square enclosure containing absorbing, emitting, and isotopically scattering(participating) media is studied numerically using the finite volume method. Various numerical methods are employed to analyze the radiative heat transfer. However, it is very difficult to choose the proper method. In present study, a finite volume method(FVM) and a discrete ordinates method(DOM) are compared in rectangular enclosure. The SIMPLER algorithm is used to solve the momentum and energy equations. Thermal and flow characteristics are investigated according to the variation of radiation parameters such as optical thickness and scattering albedo. The result shows that the accuracy and the computing time of FVM are better than those of DOM in regular geometry.

  • The present experimental and numerical study investigate flow and natural convection heat transfer characteristics of a composed rectangular-parallelogrammic enclosure with a guide vane. The governing equations for the two-dimensional, laminar, natural convection process in an enclosure are discretized by the control volume approach which insures the conservative characteristics to be satisfied in the calculation domain, and solved by a modified SIMPLE algorithm. The momentum and energy equations are coupled through the buoyancy term. In this results of experimental study, the natural convection heat transfer characteristics was well coincided with conclusions of other earlier experimental researches and numerical analysis.

  • A numerical study has been performed to investigate two dimensional natural convection heat transfer in a rectangular enclosure with heat sources of constant temperature at the bottom. Calculations were made for various dimensionless heat source lengths, W/L=0.1-0.5, and positions of heat sources at $Gr=2.57{\times}10^6$, Pr=0.71 and Ks/Kf=28.98. For various positions of heat sources, the maximum local Nusselt numbers generally show X=0.81-0.85 at the bottom and X=0.23 at the top. For various dimensionless heat source lengths, the maximum local Nusselt numbers at the bottom show W/L=0.4 for one heat source, W/L=0.2 for two heat sources with fixed centers, W/L=0.5 for two heat sources with moved centers. Finally the maximum heat transfer at the bottom exhibits in condition of W/L=0.4 for two heat sources with moved centers.

  • There are many under going researchs for the natural convection and fluid flow in rectangular enclosure. In this paper, the optimal model that is the most frequently used for the analysis of a turbulent natural convection in rectangular enclosure is suggested by comparing with the result of Cheesewright's experiment. As We can see the distribution of the velocity, temperature, and turbulent kinitic energy, ST model tends to exaggerate the result of the experiment. The LS model generates better experimental result than the ST and DA's. Therefore, it is resonable to adopt the LS model that contains explicit physical meanings of each term in eouation of turbulent kinitic energy.

  • In order to estimate the performance of a conical cutter depending on the insert size, this study measured forces acting on conical cutters with different cutter spacings, penetration depths and skew angles using slim and heavy conical cutters. When cutter spacings ranged from 12 to 27 mm, the deviations of mean cutter forces with cutter depths appeared smaller compared to other cutter spacings. When skew angle is $0^{\circ}$, the optimal S/d ratio was obtained in the range of 4 to 4.5 for which specific energy of cutting was minimized. It were usually found in the range of 1 to 5. However, when skew angle is $6^{\circ}$, the optimal S/d ratio was obtained in the range of 1 to 3. The simple comparison results shows that the performance of slim cutter was superior to that of heavy cutter, but the use of heavy cutter can be effective, considering the cutter consumption and cutter damage when the strength of the ground is high enough.

  • Pavilion is an important landscape installation in the traditional landscaping and a representative facility that organizes space. To interpret and succeed the traditional landscape space, researches on the shape and structure of the traditional pavilion are also needed. However, researches on the style and structure of the traditional pavilion are difficult to be found. Accordingly this study aimed to identify the structural characteristics of roof part that occupied the largest portion in determining the shape of pavilion. Our research findings are as follows. As a result of analyzing 15 traditional Single-room square pavilions whose structure could be identified, it was found that the main building elements that distinguished the type of roof part in the Single-room square were crossbeam, ridge pole, and baluster. Depending on the presence of roofing members, pavilion was classified into five types: crossbeam, crossbeam+ridge pole, crossbeam+baluster, ridge pole, and baluster. In addition, as a result of analyzing the load and joint that worked on crossbeam based on the shape classification of roof part, it was found that in the traditional Single-room square pavilion, crossbeam was designed to play a balancing role between pillar and load. This study is significant in that it attempted to make a close interpretation of the shape of roof part in the pavilion and the role and function of building elements in terms of size, ratio, and load.

  • The spatial layout planning system allocates rectangular resources in the limited space according to user requirements, This system also can optimizes the spatial allocation problem to maximize the user's requirement. The spatial layout planning Problems for this system can be solved by searching a wide area of space since this problem entails the non-polynomial algorithm. By accommodating the user's dynamic requirements, the modification of a specific space and the redesign of the whole area can be accomplished. In this paper, the spatial layout planning problem is solved efficiently with a resource allocation method based on CSP. The dynamic constraints by adding user requirements are accommodated through the intelligent user Interface. The 3-D layout on the web environment by using VRML is also shown for providing for the visual verification of the 2-D layout and, thereafter, the additional modification of the 2-D layout.

  • In this research, we describe the method of implementing a 360-degree panorama using one projector, in terms of hardware and in the production of projected pre-distortion images. We propose a method of installing a projector and a reflector on the central ceiling of the space to minimize the shadows generated based on the position of the spectators. We used a virtual camera and virtual space where the projector and hemisphere positions were set to the same as in the exhibition space in Unity. After the image projected on the screen was mapped on the wall of the virtual space, the pre-distortion image was created by the method of capturing from the virtual camera using the ray tracing technique. When the produced pre-distortion image is hemispherical reflected and projected by the projector installed at the same position as the virtual camera, the image is reflected and projected 360 degrees on the panoramic screen.

  • At present, CPTED projects are showing an effect such as reducing the anxiety of residents from crimes and improving the criminal environment about crimes through crime prevention. However, most of the CPTED programs have been implemented mainly to improve the physical environment without verifying systematically and empirically on the relationship between the program and improving the quality of life of residents and satisfaction level of residents etc. Accordingly, the objective of this study is to grope for a plan to apply CPTED to urban regeneration for improvement in the safety and life quality of residents using AHP and Visualizing The Mental Map. For this, We selected four case areas in Busan and then analyzed the dead zones of CPTED programs by visualizing the mental maps and heat maps of residents for case districts. As a result of evaluating the priority of CPTED program, installation of CCTVs and streetlights for prevention of crimes was found to be the most important elements. Result of analyzing mental map, the existing crime prevention facilities and CPTED programs were found to have resolved most of physical disorder. However, it showed that, for psychological factors which the residents feel such as social disorder, a number of dead zones exist.
