A Fabrication of From and a Measurement of Relative Permittivity of Illite Found in Young-dong Area (영동산 일라이트의 성형 및 비유전율 측정)

  • This paper describes measurement of relative permittivity of illite found in young-dong area. A measurement of relative permittivity of the illite was made using cylindrical cavity resonators with a moveable cap. A concentric dielectric-rod inserted the cylindrical cavity resonator and an exact field representation of non-decaying mode of the resonator are introduced for the measurement of relative permittivity. The exact electromagnetic fields in cylindrical cavity with a concentric dielectric rod is analysed. The relative permittivity of dielectric in the cavity is calculated by analyzing a characteristic equation. The characteristic equation is solved by using the ContourPlot graph of Mathematica. We know that the field representation of non-decaying mode is exact. As a result, the relative permittivity of dielectric materials was 7.820 for a sample with binder and 7.894 for a pure sample.

  • Errors of relative permittivity calculation caused by the variation of sample aspect ratio (diameter/height) and measuring geometry were analyzed by computer simulation and measurement. Firstly, the $S_{21}$ spectrum of the sample (permittivity 38) was simulated in the post resonator measuring apparatus by HFSS simulation. Then, the relative permittivity was calculated from the $TE_{011}$ mode resonant frequency. The relative permittivity varied by ca. 0.3% with sample aspect ratio variation (D/H=0.8~1.6). The relative permittivity varied by ca. 1~10% when the 1~10% of air-gap was introduced in between the dielectric disk and upper conductor. All the simulation results showed consistent tendency with real measurement.

  • 본 논문은 TDR(Time Domain Reflectometry)을 이용하여, 비유전율내에서 PD(Partial Discharge) 발생 시 부분방전 위치를 추적할 수 있는 한분야의 방법으로 비율전율간의 이동속도를 적용하여 PD위치를 쉽게 겁근할 수 있는 방법이다. 기존에는 절연유와 SF6 가스의 연결부에서 부분방전 발생 시 30cm/ns의 이동속도를 이용하여 위치를 추적함으로써 약 31% 오차가 발생하였다. 절연유내에서의 이동속도를 20cm/ns의 상수를 적용하여 현장에 적용결과 PD위치의 오차를 저감할 수 있었으며, PD발생 부분을 절연유와 SF6 가스구역으로 구분을 할 수가 있었으며, 이를 통하여 점검예산을 확보할 수 있는 계기가 되었다. 비유전율 상수를 이용한 이동속도를 산출하여 PD위치를 추적하는 방법을 활용하면, 기존의 PD발생위치 추적을 보다 용이하게 접근할 수 있는 방법이라 생각한다.

Frequency-Dependent Resistivity and Relative Dielectric Constant of Soil on Water Content (수분함유량에 따른 토양의 저항률 및 비유전율의 주파수의존성)

  • In order to evaluate the performance of a grounding system against lightning or fault currents including high frequency components, the grounding impedance should be considered rather than the steady state ground resistance. To evaluate the ground impedance, the frequency dependence of resistivity and relative dielectric constant of the soil have to be analyzed. This paper deals with the frequency dependence of the resistivity and relative dielectric constant of three types of soil on water content. As a result, the resistivity of soil is getting lower with increasing of water content. It is nearly independent of the frequency in the range less than 1[MHz], and is decreased over the frequency range above 1[MHz]. On the other hand, the relative dielectric constant is rapidly decreased with the frequency in the range less than 1[MHz], but it is nearly independent on the frequency over the range of 1[MHz]. It was found from the experiments that the frequency-dependant resistivity and relative dielectric constant of soil should be considered when designing the grounding systems for protection from lightning or switching surges.

  • Pt(80nm)/$SiO_2$(150nm)/Si 기판위에 $Ba_{0.7}Sr_{0.3}TiO_3$ 박막을 rf-magnetron Sputtering 방법을 이용하여 기판온도 590$^{\circ}C$에서 33nm 두께를 증착했을 때 비유전율은 268 이었다. 비유전율이 3.9인 $SiO_2$와 비교했을 때 유효 두께인 Tox는 0.45nm 이었다. 누설 전류 밀도는 1.5V 전압을 인가했을 때 $4.21\times10^{-7}A/cm^2$이었다.

  • This paper describes resonant mode selection with which the relative permittivity can be measured exactly. To measure the relative permittivity, a circular cylindrical cavity filled with dielectric material is used. When the circular cylindrical cavity is filled with the dielectric material, the air gap occurs on account of machining error. Accurate relative permittivity can be obtained by using less sensitive mode in resonant frequency variation by the air gap. As a result, Average 0.009% resonant frequency variation in the vertical and the radial direction appears at $TE_{011}$ mode. It is interesting that the frequency variation by the air gap at $TE_{011}$ mode turns out to be the least sensitive.

  • This paper presents the characteristics of phase shifter which is operating at 2 GHz band and 12 GHz band. Two types of substrate stick with different dielectric constants are considered in these bands. Dielectric constants of microstrip feed crank line is 2.6. In the case of a small substrate stick with dielectric constant of 9 in the calculation, S21 phase is linearly varied at 1.98 GHz and 2.45 GHz, and variation of the shifting angle is about 20。. The angle of S21 phase shifting at 12 GHz band if calculated about 30。

  • 초고속 정전유도형 정전전동기의 개발의 위한 기초연구로서 회전자 물질의 표면저항률, 비유전율 및 전하완하시정수의 변화에 따른 회전자의 회전속도특성을 조사하였다. 회전자표층물질의 비유전율 및 표면저항률은 클수록 회전자의 회전속도는 증가하였으며, 또한 이 두 요소를 곱한 회전지표면에 유도된 전하의 완화시정수가 클수록 회전속도는 증가하였다. 한편 회전자표층물질로서 도전성물질(Ti)을 폴리프로필렌 위에 불연속적으로, 즉 띠의 모양으로 증착한 시료를 사용하여 띠의 폭 및 경사각의 변화에 따른 회전자의 회전속도특성 및 토크 특성을 조사하였다. 이 경우 띠의 폭이 적어질수록 회전자의 회전수는 지수함수적으로 증가하였으며, 등간격으로 세분화한 것을 회전자의 축에 대해서 회전방향으로 경사각$\theta$만큼 기울였을 때 $\theta$=60。 및 150。일 때 회전자의 회전속도가 가장 큰 것으로 나타났으며, 특히 경사각 $\theta$=0。일때에 비해서 약 125[%]정도 높은 회전속도를 보였다. 최대토크 및 최대출력은 각각 {{{{25$\times$ { 10}^{ -6} [Nm]}}}}및 11.5[mW]이었다.

  • A cylindrical object buried in the lossy half space is reconstructed from the measured scattered fields above the lossy half space. The position, the size and the medium parameters i.e. relative dielectric constants and conductivity of the buried object as well as the medium parameters of the background lossy half space are obtained from the scattered fields by using the iterative inversion method and the optimization hybrid algorithm combining the genetic algorithm and the Levenberg-Marquardt algorithm. Illposedness of the inversion due to the measurement errors in the scattered fields are regularized by filtering out the evanescent modes in the spatial frequency spectrum domain.

  • This paper proposes a measurement method of the complex relative permittivity of semi-solid materials using a new cavity structure. Semi-solid materials are positioned in the proposed cavity where an aperture exists on each corner of the upper part and a ground plane is separated. In order to show the validation of the proposed method, we measured the complex relative permittivity of distilled water and 0.9 % saline by sensing a shift of resonant frequency and using Critical-Points Method, and compared the results with those derived from the Cole-Cole equation.
