  • Four wheel steering(4WS) systems which can control the lateral and yaw motions of vehicles by steering front and rear wheels simultaneously, have been regarded as effective for improving the stability and handing performance of vehicles. However, since the 4WS systems depend only on the lateral force of tire, they have some limitation due to the nonlinear characteristics of tire related with the saturation phenomenon of lateral force to the slip angle of tire in a near-limit-performance maneuvering range. In this study, in other to evaluate the effect of nonlinear characteristics of tire on the dynamic performance of vehicles, a new concept for driving the cornering stiffness of nonlinear tire by using the "Magic Formula" tire model is proposed. In addition, the nonlinear 4WS vehicle model is constructed based on the proposed cornering stiffness of nonlinear tire. It is noted from simulation that the nonlinear characteristics of tire affect greatly on the 4WS vehicle performance.rformance.

  • 이 논문에서는 반능동 진동 흡수기를 통합 시트/섀시 현가 장치에 확대, 적용하여 그 성능을 조사하였다. 통함 현가시스템의 성능분석을 위해 집중 인체질량과 함께 실험적으로 입증된 한 비선형 시트 쿠션 모델을 도입하였다. 또한 3 자유도 시트/섀시 현가시스템의 효과적인 진동제어를 위해 리아푸노브 바이스테이트 제어법칙을 사용하였다. 시뮬레이션결과 반능동 통합 현가장치는 시트 쿠션 모델과 관계없이 운전자의 승차감과 관련 있는 시트의 절대가속도 크기와 시트쿠션의 시트 트랙에 대한 상대변위를 상당히 감소시킬 수 있음을 알 수 있었다. 그러나, 주로 사용되어온 선형 쿠션 모델을 사용한 경우보다 비선형쿠션 모델을 사용한 경우의 제진성능이 약간 저조함을 알 수 있었다. 따라서, 자동차 시트 설계시 성능분석을 위해서는 실제의(비선형의) 시트 쿠션 특성을 적용해야 함을 알 수 있다.

  • The 4WS system is usually developed to improve the maneuverability at low speed and the straight line stability at high speed, but it is found to have the severe understeer characteristics at high speed. Therefore a 4WS vehicle requires to turn the steering wheel much more than a 2WS vehicle at high speeds even a driver goes through the same curved road. In this study, to enhance the cornering performance of the 4WS vehicle at high speed, a DYC 4WS system is proposed based on the nonlinear 4WS system and direct yaw moment control system. Especially the proposed DYC 4WS system is able to realize a zero side slip angle for vehicles and a cornering performance similar to the 2WS vehicle at high speed.

  • 본 연구에서는 전기자동차에 사용되는 전자식 차동 시스템의 신경망 모델을 제안한다. 차량이 곡선도로를 따라 주행할 경우 내측 바퀴와 외측 바퀴의 회전속도가 서로 달라야 진동이나 뒤틀림 없이 완만한 선회 주행을 할 수 있다. 전기자동차는 그 구조적 특성상 각각의 바퀴가 독립된 구동원을 갖는다. 이 때문에 일반 엔진 차량의 기어식 차동장치를 대신할 전자식 차동장치가 요구된다. 이러한 차동장치는 차량의 구조뿐만 아니라 차량의 주요 파라미터인 조향각 및 속도에 따라서 비선형적인 관계를 가지고 있어서 해석하기가 쉽지 않다. 따라서 이와 같은 비선형적인 관계 모델을 학습 능력을 가진 신경망에 의하여 모델링 함으로써 제어에 적용할 수 있다. 이를 실현하기 위해 제작한 전기자동차로 곡선도로를 주행하여 다양한 곡률과 주행속도에 따른 내측 외측 바퀴의 회전속도 데이터를 획득하고, 데이터의 비선형 특성을 고려한 차동 속도 제어기의 구조를 설계한다. 이 제어기에 적합한 모델은 신경망을 이용하여 실측 데이터를 학습시킴으로써 차동기능을 수행할 수 있는 제어기를 구현한다.

  • A bushing is a device used in automotive suspension systems to reduce the load transmitted from the wheel to the frame of the vehicle. A bushing is a hollow cylinder, which is bonded to a solid steel shaft at its inner surface and a steel sleeve at its outer surface. The relation between the force applied to the shaft and the relative deformation of a bushing is nonlinear and exhibits features of viscoelasticity. Since a force-displacement relation for bushings is important for multibody dynamics numerical simulations, the relation is expressed in terms of a force relaxation function and a method of determination by experiments on bushings has been developed. For the nonlinear viscoelastic axial response, Pipkin-Rogers model, the direct relation of force and displacement, has been derived from experiment. It is shown that the predictions by the proposed force-displacement relation are in very good agreement with the experimental results.

  • The understeer characteristics of four wheel steering system(4WS system) in a high speed region have a negative effect upon the yaw velocity, leading to a decrease in the handling ability of vehicle. As a result, even if the side slip angle of vehicle can be kept up a minimum, a driver must compensate a decrease in yaw velocity by increasing the steering wheel angle in order to track the desired vehicle path. In this study, to keep the side slip angle of vehicle at zero and achieve a suitable yaw velocity in vehicle motion, a full active 4WS system(FA 4WS system) with actively steerable front and rear wheels is presented based on a nonlinear vehicle model and a model following control of yaw velocity. And the analysis results show the fat that, besides the excellent stability of vehicle, the FA 4WS system is able to realize better handling performance of vehicle than the previous 4WS systems in the high speed region.

  • Equations of motion for a 7 DOF full car model is developed in detail and used for the design of LQR based active suspension system. The frequency response to road disturbance input and the motion of a car passing unequal bumps were used to analyzed the dynamic characteristics of the 7 DOF full car with passive or active suspensions. The resulting linear equations of motion may be usefull in designing other types of active suspension.

  • 독자적인 자동차 충돌해석용 프로그램 개발 및 응용기술을 목표로 Explicit 수식화, 셀 요소의 정식화, 교체요소의 정식화, 비선형스프링 요소의 개발, 초탄성 고무재료의 개발, Hourglass 제어, 접촉알고리즘 정식화 등의 프로그램의 기본 모듈을 구성하였고, 그래프 출력용 포스트 프로그램을 개발하였다. 비선형스프링, 에어백 모듈, 안전벨트 모듈 등이 개발되었으며, 자체구조물들의 정면·측면 충돌해석을 수행하고 상용충돌해석프로그램들과 그 결과를 비교하여 개발된 프로그램의 신뢰성을 확인하였다. 또한, 측면충돌 모델을 사용하여 설계초기단계에서 빠른 해석을 수행할 수 있도록 하는 Hybrid 모델링 기법을 개발하여 기존의 쉘모델의 결과와 비교·검토하였다. Hybrid 모델링시 조인트 부의 특성을 측면해석 모델에 적용하여 그 타당성을 검증하였다.

  • Recent research suggests the various applications of Model Predictive Control on vehicle systems. In numerous cases, nonlinear tire models such as the Magic Formula, which are highly complex and are more detailed than necessary, are used. This paper presents a nonlinear tire model that excludes the region of negative slope but expresses the nonlinear properties of tire well enough for tracking the lane of a racing course. The proposed inverse tire model can also be used to calculate the slip angle from the tire force. Thus, the model can be utilized to design the Model Predictive Controller.
