This study was conducted to evaluate the effects of the mixture ratio of soil amendments blended with coco peat (Coco) and American soldier fly cast (SFC) on the physicochemical properties on the sand green. pH and EC of soil were significantly related to mixture ratio of SFC, Mix1, Mix2 and Mix3. Capillary porosity, air-capillary porosity and total porosity of root zone mixed SFC, Coco, Mix1, Mix2 and Mix3 were met to the USGA green specification. The mixture ratios of Mix1 and Mix2 in root zone were positively related capillary porosity and total porosity, and air-capillary porosity was negatively related capillary porosity and hydraulic conductivity. Capillary porosity of Mix1, Mix2 and Mix3 blended SFC and Coco was affected by SFC and Coco, and total porosity by Coco. These results showed that soil amendments blended SFC and Coco was developed capillary porosity and hydraulic conductivity on the USGA sand green than these of SFC.

This study was conducted to investigate the effect of the mixture ratio of a soldier fly casts (SFC), compost and cocopeat on the soil physicochemical properties. The mixture ratios of soil amendment were 0%, 3%, 5%, 7% and 10% (V/V) incorporated with sand which met to the USGA particle standard. To analyze the effects of amendments on soil chemical properties, pH and EC were measured. The porosity, capillary porosity, air-filled porosity, bulk density and hydraulic conductivity also measured to analyze the physical properties. Chemical properties were significantly different by mixture ratios of a SFC, compost and cocopeat. Capillary porosity was a factor involved in soil physical properties by blending with a SFC and compost. It was affected on the volume of porosity or hydraulic conductivity. To analyze the correlation of mixture ratio versus to physical characters, the ratios of SFC were significantly different in capillary porosity, air-filled porosity, and hydraulic conductivity. These results indicated that mixing ratios of SFC were affected on soil physicochemical properties such as porosity and hydraulic conductivity of the root zone on the USGA sand green.
This study was conducted to investigate the effect of the mixed ratio of the soil amendments, peat, humate, peatmoss and zeolite, on the soil physicochemical properties. The mixed ratios of soil amendments were 0%, 3%, 5%, 7% and 10% (v/v) incorporated with sand which met to the USGA (United State of Golf Association) recommendation. It was measured pH, EC and CEC as a chemical properties. Porosity, capillary porosity, air-filled porosity, bulk density and hydraulic conductivity were also measured to analyze the changes of physical properties. Chemical properties were significantly different by mixture ratios of peat, humate, peatmoss and zeolite. When the results were applied to the USGA standard of the soil physical properties, the optimum mixture ratios of peat, humate and peatmoss were 5%, 3% and 7%, respectively. Air-filled porosity was factor involved in soil physical properties by blending with soil amendments and it was affected on volume of porosity and hydraulic conductivity. To analyze the corelation of mixture ratio versus to physical characters, the ratio of peat and peatmoss was significantly related to capillary porosity and hydraulic conductivity (P<0.05), that of humate hydraulic conductivity (P<0.01), and that of zeolite air-filled porosity and volume of porosity (P<0.05). These results could be used as a basic data for construction USGA sand green.

In this article, an advanced cooling surface based on micro-post arrays with non-homogeneous configurations is investigated and compared with conventional micro-post arrays with homogeneous configuration. The capillary performance of micro-post arrays are characterized using the capillary rate of rise experiments and numerical simulations which take into account the meniscus curvature. The experimental and numerical results show that that the capillary performance of the micro-post wick can be significantly enhanced, compared with the homogeneous type wick, by employing non-homogeneous configurations. The capillary performance is shown to be primarily a function of the solid fraction and increases linearly with decreasing solid fraction, regardless of the wick configuration, when the solid fraction is larger than 0.25. However, the capillary performance is found to be significantly reduced when the solid fraction falls below approximately 0.25.
Meniscus, adsorbed layer thickness, capillary pressure and disjoining pressure was deduced in extended meniscus region in cement paste pore by hydrostatic equilibrium. From the results, the relationship between pore size and adsorbed layer thickness could be derived and adsorbed layer thickness represents $0.299{\sim}2.700nm$ according to pore size $1nm{\sim}1{\mu}m$. Especially, disjoining pressure rapidly Increased in less than 10 nm pore size according to adsorbed layer thickness. Therefore, it is interpreted that autogenous shrinkage of cement paste is highly increases in formation of less than 10 nm pore size. Predictions of autogenous shrinkage in cement paste considering driving force for autogenous shrinkage with capillary pressure and disjoining pressure was low in comparison with experiment values between $1{\sim}4$ days and high in later period. These tendency could be thought that pore damage by mercury injection in early age makes shrinkage driving force underestimate and assumption for unsaturated independent pore makes overestimate. These interactions might be needed corrections considering on hydration or pore replacement model.
This study was conducted to investigate the effect of the mixture ratio of the inorganic soil amendments on the soil physicochemical properties. In this experiment, three kinds of soil amendments which had similar pH, EC and particle size, the A, B and C, were tested. The mixture ratio of soil amendment were 0%, 3%, 5%, 7% and 10% (V/V) incorporated with sand which met to the USGA(United State of Golf Association) particle standard. To analyze the effects of amendment on chemical soil properties, pH, EC(electrical conductivity) and CEC(cation exchangeable capacity) were measured. The porosity, bulk density and hydraulic conductivity also measured to analyze the changes of physical properties. In the chemical properties, pH was significantly related to the mixture ratios of amendments, A and C(P<0.05), CEC and EC also related to the ratios of C(P<0.01). When the results were applied to the USGA standard of the soil physical properties, the optimum mixture ratios of each amendment were 3% in A and B, and 7~10% in C. To analyze the corelation of mixture ratio versus to physical character, volume of porosity was significantly related to the ratio of B (P<0.05), and showed similar corelation in porosity and hydraulic conductivity with ratio of C(P<0.05). These results indicate that types and mixture ratio of inorganic soil amendments should affect on soil physio-chemical properties of root zone on USGA sand green.
This study presents the numerical results of soil-water characteristic curve for sandy soil by pore network model. The Jumunjin sand is subjected to the high resolution 3D X-ray computed tomographic imaging and its pore structure is constructed by the web of pore body and pore channel. The channel radius, essential to the computation of capillary pressure, is obtained based on the skeletonization and Euclidean Distance transform. The experimentally obtained soil-water characteristic curve corroborates the numerically estimated one. The pore channel radius defined by minimum radii of pore throat results in the slightly overestimation of air entry value, while the overall evolution of capillary pressure resides in the acceptable range. The relative permeability computed by a series of suggested models runs above that obtained by pore network model at high degree of saturation.
Maturity models involving curing temperature and curing ages have been widely used to predict concrete strength, which can accurately estimate concrete strength. However, they may not consider physical quantities such as the characteristics of hydrates and the capillary porosity of microstructures associated with strength development. In order to find out the effects of both factors on a strength increment, the hydration model and the estimation method of the amount of capillary porosity were established, and the compressive strength test of concrete nth various water/cement ratios was carried out considering two test parameters, curing temperature and curing age. In this study, by analyzing the experimental results, a strength estimation model for early-age concrete that can consider the microstructural characteristics such as hydrates and capillary porosity was proposed. Measured compressive strengths were compared with estimated strengths and good agreements were obtained. Consequently, the proposed strength model can estimate compressive strength of concrete with curing age and curing temperature within an acceptable error.

A new model which requires one branch of main curves for the model calibration is developed based on the assumption that the weighting factor accounting for the pore blockage effect against air entry, $P_a({\theta})$, in Mualem's Model III-1 has a linear relation to the dimensionless pore radius r. The proposed model simulates experimental data more accurately than existing models which require one branch of main curves for the model calibration. Previous study showed that Model III-1 is the most appropriate model among domain models which require two branches of main curves for the model calibration. In comparison of the proposed model with Model III-1, both simulate hysteresis curves with almost the same accuracy. The proposed model can be applied efficiently in analyzing the unsaturated flow.

Humidity and strain were estimated for understanding the relation between humidity change by self-desiccation and shrinkage in high-performance concrete with low water binder ratio and containing fly ash and blast furnace slag. Internal humidity change and shrinkage strain were about 10%, 10%, 7%, 11%, 11% and $320{\times}10^{-6}$, $270{\times}10^{-6}$, $231{\times}10^{-6}$, $371{\times}10^{-6}$, $350{\times}10^{-6}$ respectively on OPC30, O30F10, O30F20, O30G40, O30G50 and from the results, fly ash made humidity change and strain decrease but slag increase comparing with ordinary portland cement. Considering only relation internal humidity and shrinkage by self-desiccation, humidity change and shrinkage represented the strong linear relation regardless of mineral admixture. For specifying the relation on internal humidity change and autogenous shrinkage strain, shrinkage model was established which is driven by capillary pressure in pore water and surface energy in hydrates on the assumption of a single network and extended meniscus in pore system of concrete. This model and experimental results had a similar tendency so it would be concluded that the internal humidity change by self-desiccation in HPC originated in small pores less than 20nm, therefore controlling plan on autogenous shrinkage might be focused on surface tension of water and degree of saturation in small pore.
