Precise Determination of the Geodetic Primary Framework of Korea (1, 2등 국가삼각점의 실용성과 정밀산정)

  • In order to provide the new official coordinates set of Korean Geodetic Primary Framework, the data of Precise Primary Geodetic Network (PPGN) were reviewed and validated in the project and block adjustment stage. Moreover PPGN data set was constructed for various computer processings. The simultaneous least squares adjustment was carried out to assess the net strength, local weakness and accuracy of PPGN and to evaluate the horizontal displacements of the resin of Korean peninsula. Finally, the precise horizontal coordinates set of 1st and 2nd order triangulation points of Korea was computed and presented.

A $3^{rd}$ order 3-bit Sigma-Delta Modulator with Improved DWA Structure (개선된 DWA 구조를 갖는 3차 3-비트 SC Sigma-Delta Modulator)

  • In multibit Sigma-Delta Modulator, one of the DEM(Dynamic Element Matching) techniques which is DWA(Data Weighted Averaging) is widely used to get rid of non-linearity caused by mismatching of capacitor that is unit element of feedback DAC. In this paper, by adjusting clock timing used in existing DWA architecture, 2n Register block used for output was replaced with 2n S-R latch block. As a result of this, MOS Tr. can be reduced and extra clock can also be removed. Moreover, two n-bit Register block used to delay n-bit data code is decreased to one n-bit Register. After designing the 3rd 3-bit SC(Switched Capacitor) Sigma-Delta Modulator by using the proposed DWA architecture, 0.1% of mismatching into unit element in input frequency 20 kHz and sampling frequency 2.56 MHz. As a consequence of the simulation, It was able to get the same resolution as the existing architecture and was able to reduce the number of MOS Tr. by 222.

  • We propose Cubical User Interface(CUI) for toy block composition in Augmented Reality. The creation of new object by composing virtual object is able to construct various AR contents effectively. However, existing GUI method requires learning time or is lacking of intuitiveness between act of user and offered interface. In case of AR interfaces, they mainly have been supported one handed operation and it did not consider composition property well. Therefore, the CUI provide tangible cube as the manipulation tool for virtual toy block composition in AR. The tangible cube which is attached multi-markers, magnets, and buttons supports free rotation, combination, and button input. Also, we propose two kinds of two-handed composing interactions based on CUI. First is Screw Driving(SD) method which is possible to free 3-D positioning and second is Block Assembly(BA) method which support visual guidance and is fast and intuitive. We expected that proposed interface can apply as the authoring system for content such as education, entertainment, Digilogbook.

GPU-based Adaptive LOD control for Quadtree-Based Terrain Rendering (사진트리 기반 지형렌더링을 위한 GPU기반의 적응형 상세단계 조정 방법)

  • Quadtree-based terrain visualization methods have been used in a lot of applications. However, because most procedures are performed on the CPU, the rendering speed is slow in comparison to methods using GPU. In this paper, we present a quadtree-based terrain visualization method working on the GPU with specially designed data structure, error-texture and LOD-texture, and block-based acceleration method. In preprocessing step, we calculate errors in world space and store them to error-texture. In rendering step, we examine projected errors of error-texture and choose the detail level, then store the projected errors to LOD-texture. View frustum culling is performed as block unit using the values of error-texture and LOD-texture. This method reduces CPU load and performs time consuming jobs such as LOD selection and view frustum culling.

Simulation of Welding Deformation of Hull Block Joint considering Dog-Pieces (도그피스를 고려한 선체 블록 조인트의 용접변형 시뮬레이션)

  • In shipyards, a large number of dog-pieces are used to align welding joints and prevent welding deformation in the block assembly stage. The huge working man-hours consumed in the working process of dog-pieces impedes the productivity growth of shipyards. In this study, an analysis method based on the experimental results was proposed to simulate the welding deformation of butt joints with a dog-piece setting. The simulation of welding deformation of a hull block joint was performed using the proposed analysis method. Finally, the proposed analysis method can be used to establish guidelines for the proper use of dog- pieces in the block assembly stage.

  • A new idea of the wavelength locking module for DWDM application was investigated in the present research. Only one etalon photo-diode is generally used in the internal/external wavelength locking system. For the internal wavelength locking module with 50 GHz applications, an algle tuning method of the etalon commonly applied. However, the alignment process of the etalon with the angle tuning method is limited because the lock performance is extremely sensitive accoriding to the change of the tilting angle. In an optical viewpoint, the alignment tolerance of the locker module with the etalon PD array block was good, and the precise tuning of the wavelength was possible. The characteristics of free spectral range (FSR) and peak shift of wavelength according to the tilting angle with the locker module was investigated. For the present module, the optimized initial tilting angle was experimentally obtained.

  • 이동 컴퓨팅 환경에서 멀티미디어 트래픽을 효율적으로 지원하기 위해서 가장 중요한 이슈는 이동호스트(클라이언트)에게 QoS(Quality of Service)를 지속적으로 보장하는 것이다. 그러나 핸드-오프를 필요로하는 클라이언트의 이동성으로 인해 클라이언트와 네트워크간에 협상된 QoS가 보장되지 못할 수도 있다. 본 논문은 이동 컴퓨팅 환경에서 클라이언트에게 지속적으로 QoS를 지원하기 위한 ARMM을 제안하였다. 각 셀은 핸드-오프 호를 위해 이웃 셀에게 대역폭을 예약하며 예약된 대역폭은 단지 핸드-오프 호들만이 사용할 수 있다 만약 핸드-오프 호를 위해 대역폭을 너무 많이 예약한다면 신규 호의 블록킹 확률이 증가하므로 예약할 대역폭의 크기를 정확히 결정하는 것이 중요하다 본 논문에서는 이 대역폭의 정확한 크기를 결정하고 네트워크 상태에 따라 크기를 적응적으로 조정하기 위해 MPP와 2-계층 셀 구조를 기반으로 한 기법을 제안하였다. 본 논문에서 제시된 대역폭 예약 메커니즘의 성능을 평가하기 위해 신규 호블록킹률, 핸트-오프 호 종료율 대역폭 이용률을 측정하였다. 시뮬레이션 결과 본 논문의 대역폭 예약 메커니즘의 성능이 No Reservation Fixed Reservation Adaptive Reservation과 같은 기존의 메커니즘보다 우수함을 알수 있었다.

  • In this paper, we designed FFT for European DTV and implemented system with Stratix EP1S25F672C6 FPGA At the implemented FFT, we used SIC architecture. SIC architecture is composed of algorithm-specific processing element, RAM memory, registers, and a central or distributed control unit. Designed FFT was acceptable either 2K or 8K point FFT processing, and is selectable guard interval such as 1/4, 1/8, 1/16, 1/32. Consequently, it was suitable for the standard of DVB-T(Digital Terrestrial Video Transmission System) specification. It resulted in 12% of total logic gate and 53% of total memory bit in Stratix device.

  • Exchanging information with a person without credentials over the Internet does not pose any problems. A decentralized system based on blockchain technology enables the user to exchange new value(currency) with other uncredited users. The blockchain technology creates a new paradigm in which the distribution system can be founded on trust. Various applied distribution systems are being developed based on this paradigm. This study analyzed the problems between an institute's grading system and the central administration system. The limitations of an institute's current central management system were presented through actual cases. To improve the problem, a decentralized system based on block chain technology was presented in order to overcome the fundamental limitations by utilizing blockchain technology, peer-to-peer network, and the distribution system. In the central system, a malicious moderator could create a malicious edit that becomes the cause of a dispute, but in a decentralized system, a problem cannot be created even if there were to be a malicious moderator. However, it is difficult for a single college institute to create a distribution system in order to actualize an effective system. Comparatively, it would be possible to create a decentralized system in which all educational institutes in Korea (elementary schools, middle schools, high schools, colleges) took part in. The application of a decentralized system would improve the public transparency and reliability of educational institutes.

  • We study the problem of finding the maximum suffix of a string on the external memory model of computation with one disk. In this model, we are primarily interested in designing algorithms that reduce the number of I/Os between the disk and the internal memory. A string of length N has N suffixes and among these, the lexicographically largest one is called the maximum suffix of the string. Finding the maximum suffix of a string plays a crucial role in solving some string problems. In this paper, we present an external memory algorithm for computing the maximum suffix of a string of length N. The algorithm uses four blocks in the internal memory and performs at most 4(N/L) disk I/Os, where L is the size of a block.
