Examining the Equality of Multi-Outlet Flow Rates within a Dual Open Channel (이중 수로 구조의 분배수로 내 다지점 유출 유량의 균등성 평가에 관한 연구)

  • This study was conducted to qualify the equality of the flow distribution from open channel between rapid mixing basin and flocculation basins in a domestic S_ water treatment plant, and to suggest a remedy for improving the equality. In order to evaluate the feasibility of the suggested remedy, computational fluid dynamics (CFD) technique are used, and for verifying the CFD simulation results tracer tests were carried out. From the results of CFD simulation and tracer tests, it was investigated that the modification of hydraulic structure in the distribution channel, which is to install the longitudinal orifice baffle in flow direction, could improve the equality of the flow distribution over 75%.

  • 인터넷의 급성장은 웹서버의 요청율을 급격하게 증가시키고 심각한 정체를 일으키고 있다. 이를 해결하기 위하여 클라이언트의 요청을 분산된 여러 서버들에게로 전달시키는 방법이 많이 사용되고 있다. 이 방법은 웹서버의 처리량을 향상시키고 확장성과 가용성을 제공하지만 서버들의 부하를 균등하게 하는 방법이 필요하게 된다. 이러한 부하 균등을 위해 크게 DNS(Domain Name Server)를 활용한 정책과 IP 단계에서 분배기(Dispatcher)를 사용한 정책이 제안되었다. 본 논문에서는 전자와 후자의 단점을 보완하고 성능을 향상시킨 다중 분배기를 제안하고 실험하였다.

  • In order to suggest the methodology for improving the equity of flow distribution in open channel with multiple outlet, CFD simulations were carried out for actual scale distribution channel being operated in domestic G_WTP(Water Treatment Plant). Also, before and after installing the longitudinal multi hole(diameter=250 mm, 116 holes) baffle suggested by this research, turbidity measurements data were collected for evaluating the effects of hydraulic modification for inlet flow equity. From the both results, total turbidity of settled water was lowered by 30 % and equity of flow distribution was improved about 60 % compared with before hydraulic structure modification.

  • In order to suggest the methodology for improving the equality of flow distribution in a distribution channel, wet tests were carried out for pilot plant which was scaled down to 1/8 of full scale distribution channel being operated in domestic K_water treatment plant. The correlation between various hydraulic variables and their effects on the equality of flow distribution was evaluated through wet tests using pilot plant. From the results of wet tests, the longitudinal baffle with orifices was installed in the distribution channel, the equality of flow distribution was improved on the condition that the Froude number in pilot plant was similar with that in the full scale channel. Also, the opening ratio of the orifices on the longitudinal baffled did not have influence on the performance of the equality of flow distribution when the average flow velocity and Froud number were relatively low (Froude number ${\fallingdotseq} 0.01$). In the other hand, the performance of the equality of flow distribution was improved with increasing the opening ration of on the longitudinal baffle under conditions of relatively high average flow velocity and high Froud number(${\gtrsim}0.1$)

In order to evaluate the feasibility of the suggested remedy, computational fluid dynamics (CFD) technique are used, and for verifying the CFD simulation results wet tests were carried out for the pilot scale channel based on geometric similarity. From the results of CFD simulation and wet tests, it was investigated that the modification of hydraulic structure in the distribution channel, which is to install the longitudinal orifice baffle in flow direction, could improve the equality of the flow distribution. Also, in the case that Froude number is relatively small (Froude number <<0.03), the open ratio of orifices on the installed baffle hardly affects the equality of flow distribution.

  • This paper introduces a new current sharing technique to Interleaved Boost Converter (IBC) using carrier slope control. The IBC is able to boost the input voltage and operates at higher current levels and has various advantages over a single power module. However, how to balance the current each module is still important problem. To solve this problem, the proposed technique can distribute the power and load current equally based on master-slave current sharing method. Unlike a conventional approach, this technique can be extended even though the current stress of switching components at slave modules is significantly smaller than that of the master module. The simulation and the experimental results are presented to show the validity.

  • CC-NUMA 시스템은 메모리를 분산시켜 트랜잭션을 지역화 함으로써 고성능 및 확장성을 꾀하는 구조이다. 그러나 CC-NUMA 시스템에서 여러 병렬 프로그램들이 수행될 경우, 각 프로그램의 부하 차이에 의하여 균등한 네트워크 활용율을 나타내지 못하며. 이중 링 CC-NUMA 시스템에서 이러한 불균등한 네트워크 부하로 인한 성능 감소가 발생한다. 본 논문은 이중 연결 구조중 하나를 건너뜀 연결을 갖도록 배치하여 균등한 네트워크 부하를 나타내도록 하며, 이중 링에 비하여 균등한 네트워크 부하를 나타냄을 시뮬레이션을 통하여 검증한다.

  • 모듈러 구조의 전력변환 장치는 고전류 및 고전력이 요구되는 어플리케이션에 사용한다. 일반적으로 모듈러 구조의 전력변환 장치는 전체 출력 전력을 각각의 단일 전력변환 장치의 출력 전력에 균등하게 분배되도록 제어하여 부하 부담을 모든 개별 전력변환 장치로 분산한다. 하지만 기존의 출력 전력 균등화 제어는 전력변환 장치 간의 전력변환 효율 차이에 대하여 능동적으로 대응할 수 없기 때문에 모듈러 구조의 전력변환 시스템의 전력변환 효율과 신뢰성을 저감할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 개별 전력변환 장치 간의 실제적인 효율 차이를 고려하여 출력 전력이 아닌 입력 전력에 대하여 모듈러 구조로 구성된 개별 전력변환 장치의 부하를 조절하는 입력 전력 균등화 제어방법을 제안한다. 제안하는 입력 전력 균등화 제어 방법은 2개의 200 W급 모듈러 벅 컨버터를 통해 검증하였다.

  • 고속 네트워크의 등장으로 관리 영역을 초월한 계산 자원의 공유가 가능하게 되었고, 그리드 컴퓨팅이 등장하였다. 그리드 환경에 포함된 각 자원들은 이질적이고, 이질적인 환경에서 고성능을 얻기 위해서는 효과적인 자원 발견 및 자원 선택이 중요하다. 본 논문에서는 균등 분배 MPI 프로그램들에 대한 성능 예측 알고리즘과 자원 선택 알고리즘을 제안한다. 성능 예측 알고리즘은 자원의 이질성, 네트워크 성능, 복수 노드에 있는 CPU 부하, 응용 프로그램의 특성을 고려해 성능을 예측 한다. 자원 선택 알고리즘은 k개의 후보 자원 집합들을 생성한 후, 이들 중 최적의 집합을 선택한다. 이를 통해 기존 그리디 알고리즘의 약점이던 지역성을 극복했다.

Numerical Analysis of Flow Rate Distribution of Diffusers with Various Shapes (다양한 디퓨저 형상의 유량 분배 특성에 관한 수치해석 연구)

  • In this study, the distribution characteristics of diffusers with various shapes that are installed in an open-type thermal storage system are numerically investigated. Four diffusers are designed to distribute a working fluid evenly through the holes on bifurcated pipes. Three-dimensional steady simulations of incompressible laminar flow are conducted using commercial software (ANSYS-FLUENT). The simulation results show that both the bidirectional header-type diffuser and the H-type diffuser distribute the working fluid evenly whereas both the unidirectional and the bidirectional diffusers distribute the working fluid unevenly. The results also show that the H-type diffuser requires a higher head of pump than the bidirectional header-type diffuser. Therefore, the bidirectional header-type diffuser is recommended for use because it enables even distribution of the working fluid and requires a low head of pump.
