Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine a Korean Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (K-MBSR) program for middle aged women and to verify the program's effectiveness on stress, stress coping style, depression, anger and sleep. Methods: Fifty-two women aged from 40 to 59 (26 in the experimental group and 26 in the control group) from G city participated in the study. Data were collected from February 13 to April 3, 2013. The experimental group received 8 sessions, scheduled once a week, with each session lasting two and a half hours. Outcome variables included stress, stress coping style, depression, anger, sleep and a physiological measure (EEG). Results: There were significant decreases for stress (t=-2.14, p=.037), depression (t=-2.64, p=.011), state trait anger (t=-3.79, p<.001) in the experimental group compared to the control group. Conclusion: The findings in this study indicate that the K-MBSR program is an effective program to decrease stress, depression, and state trait anger in middle aged women.
This study aimed to expand and reconstruct the Driving Behavior Determinants' factors in order to confirm the relationship between Driving Behavior Determinants(DBD) and drivers' reckless driving behavior level. To expand the structure of DBD, drivers anger, introversion and type A characteristics were added, which were never considered as related factors in existing DBD studies before. The correlations between the new factors of DBD and reckless driving behavior(includes driver's personal records of driving experiences for the last three years) were verified. A factor analysis result showed us that new DBD questionnaire consists of five factors such as, 'Problem Evading', 'Benefits/Sensation Seeking', 'Anti-personal Anxiety', 'Anti-personal Anger', and 'Aggression'. Also, reckless driving behavior consists of 'Speeding', 'Inexperienced Coping', 'Wild Driving', 'Drunken Driving', and 'Distraction'. The result of correlation between the DBD and reckless driving behavior indicates that inappropriate level of DBD is highly correlated with dangerous driving behavior and strong possibilities of traffic accidents. Based on these results, we might be able to discriminate drivers according to DBD level and predict their reckless driving behavior through a standardization procedure. Futhermore, this will make us to provide drivers differentiated safety education service.

This study was attempted to identify differences in depression and psychological emotions according to the degree of self-elasticity of college freshmen in COVID-19. The survey was conducted online from April 6 to 13, 2020, and the results were analyzed using a total of 220 copies of the survey data, excluding insufficient surveys. As a result of the analysis, compared to the case where the self-elasticity is below average, the psychological emotion caused by COVID-19 as well as the depression of new students is statistically significant in all emotions such as anxiety, irritability, helplessness, anger, fear, confusion, and distrust. It was found to be higher. Based on these results, several roles and coping strategies were suggested to help students recover and maintain their psychological stability and mental health.

This study is a basic study on COVID-19 and human quality of life. The purpose of the study is to reveal what changes are made in people's lives after a disaster and to provide basic data for crisis intervention research to effectively improve life satisfaction after a disaster to all subjects living in this era. As a result of the study, changes in life before and after COVID-19 differed depending on the subject. COVID-19 is certainly a major disaster for our society. In order to wisely cope with such a disaster situation, it can be said that a crisis intervention program is urgently needed. It can be said that a program is required to immediately focus on the crisis situation according to the target and evaluate the current difficulties to understand the client's response to the situation and relieve their feelings such as anger and anxiety.
This study examined the Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)-related variables of firefighters through a systematic literature review. Electronic databases were searched, including RISS, National Assembly Library, NDSL, KmBase. The search terms were PTSD, Post-Traumatic Stress, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and Firefighter. Eleven studies from 146 references screened were included. All studies were non-experimental and correlational analyses. The positive correlation factors were age, duration of work, traumatic events, frequency of mobilization, number and strength of traumatic events experienced, work burden, coping method, D-type personality, depression, and anger rumination. The negative correlation factors were resilience, social support, self-esteem. To improve the mental health of firefighters in the future, professional intervention programs should be constructed to improve resilience, social support, and self-esteem, which are protective factors of PTSD.

This study was conducted to investigate the effect of agarwood (Thymelaeaceae) inhalation using an electric incense burner on stress and brain waves. Sixteen participants were included in the study during the period from September 2019 to April 2020. Participant recruitment was undertaken by the 'H' center. This paper focused on stress reduction and compared the differences in stress and brain waves before and after agarwood inhalation using an electric incense burner. Electroencephalography was measured by a 19 Channel, Brainmaster Discovery, and analyzed using a NeuroGuide, LORETA (Brain Mapping). The analysis of technical statistics was carried out using SPSS/WIN 21.0 and the Wilcoxon signed-rank test. The study observed that the stress response index was reduced by a significance level of 0.01 in patients with anxiety, depression, and somatization disorders after agarwood inhalation. Secondly, alpha waves were increased by a significance level of 0.05, in 18 out of 19 regions measured, except FP 1. The difference after agarwood inhalation was the most significant in the region that affects emotion. Thirdly, a LORETA analysis found that alpha waves were increased in the brain region (BA 40) predominantly responsible for memory and emotion. This result clarifies that agarwood inhalation using an electric incense burner reduced stress and had a positive effect on brain waves and hence, has potential as an alternative therapy.
The purpose of this study is to prepare countermeasures for aggressive driving and road rage which have recently become a hot issue by analysing mechanism of how the driving behavior determinants(personal anger and aggression) and dangerous driving behavior factors(aggressive driving behavior and over-speeding driving behavior, drunk driving behavior, inattentive driving behavior, and inexperience driving behavior) affect aggressive driving and road rage. From the survey conducted by seven branches of the Road Traffic Authority with 351 people who were traffic offenders and drivers who caused car accidents, this study obtained three results as follows. First, seriousness of aggressive driving and road rage and requirements as types of customized educations, proper length of time for education, and contents of education can be understood. Second, specific relation and mechanism between the driving behavior determinants and dangerous driving behavior factors with respect to aggressive driving and road rage can be clearly identified, which helps to set order of priority and weighting of measures for reducing aggressive driving and road rage. Third, countermeasures can be categorized as corporate measures or customized measures through mechanism analysis model of aggressive driving and road rage.
This purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of 16-week long-term walking exercise on the feeling, mood state, and life stress of college students. Participations in this study were 50 college students, and 24 Walking Group and 26 Control Group were random sampled to experiment the psychological effect of exercise walking. The experimental design was designed by factorial design by 2×3 repeated measurements. Data collection was conducted for 0week, 8week, 16week of feeling, mood state and life stress of college students. As a result, WG showed a positive increase in feeling status compared to CG. Negative mood state such as tension, anger, depression, fatigue, and confusion have been greatly reduced, vigor has increased, and stress on college student life such as friends, study, economy, future, and values has decreased statistically. The results of this study can be used as a way of coping with the stress of college students to improve their study motivation and quality of life.
