  • In this paper, we described the basic elements(flowabiligy, fillingability, elapsed time, pumpability, no-vibrating effects, and etc.) required for the application and quality control of the super flowing concrete(SFC) in Top Down site. Also, manufactured sand and fly ash were used for investigating characteristics of SFC through various experiments(mix design, optimum mix condition) before placing the concrete in site. As a result of this project, the developed SFC shown high flowability and self-fillingability in the joint good enough for the requirement. Futhermore, inner uniformity of the no-vibrated concrete was verified by testing reformed space. Therefore, quality control and compressive strength(360kg/$\textrm{cm}^2$) can be secured by using SFC even without vibrating.

  • The results of an experimental study on manufacture and mechanical properties of concrete utilizing crushed sand and fly ash for construction materials are presented in theis paper. As the results show, the workability, compressive strength and freezing-thaw resistance were improved by proper contents of fly ash, replaced crushed sand, and air entraining agent. And the drying shinkage was decreased by proper contents of those. Also, the suitable weight contents of replacing ratio of crushed sand and weight ratio fly ash in concrete using crushed sand were in range of 30% and 15% respectively.

  • The results of an experimental study on the mechanical properties of concrete utilizing crushed sand for construction materials are persented in this paper. As the results show, the workability, compressive strength and drying shrinkage were improved by propeer contents of replaced crushed sand. And the workability, compressive strength and drying shinkage were decreased by increasing very fine sand. Also, the suitable weight contents of replacing ratio of crushed sand in concrete using crushed sand were in range of about 30%. And the use of crushed sand containing very fine sand under the permitted limit by regulated KS F 2558 has not very much problems in concrete.

  • In this paper, we described the basic elements (relative flowing area ratio and funeling velocity ratio in mortar, flowability and self-compactibility in concrete, and etc.) required for the maximum mix design of the super flowing concrete (SFC) using manufactured sand. Also, manufactured sand and fly ash were used for investigating characteristics of SFC through various experiments (replacement ratio of manufactured sand, optimum mix condition) before producing the concrete in batch plant. As the result of this project, the SFC using manufactured sand up to 50% showed high flowability and self-compactibility in fresh concrete. Furthermore, its compressive strength is higher than normal concrete without manufactured sand. From now on, this study may suggest how to apply manufactured sand in the SFC.

  • The objective of this study is to present the reference data about the influence of concrete properties using crushed sand, according to the change of powder content and grain shape. From the test results. We obtained that as powder content is increased, sand aggregate ratio, water content and S.P/C are increased in mixing design of concrete. The more powder content is the less slump and air content loss are decreased in fresh state, but the higher compressive strength and drying shrinkage are increased in hardened concrete state. As grain shape become round, water content is decreased in mixing design of concrete. And also, loss of slump and air content in fresh state, compressive strength in hardened state are increased.

  • As this study is to test effects of sulfate attack on deterioration of concrete using in crushed aggregates. Besides tests have been carried out with concrete by river sand and crushed sand by fine sand, concrete mixes various proportions of slica fume and fly ash(up to 15$\%$ by weight fo cement) were prepared and immersed in pure water, sodium sulfate solution for 28 and 60days. Test on the change in the weight and compressive strength of concrete according to the duration of immersion time and the content of slica fume and fly ash was performed.

  • An investigation for long-term strength characteristics of crushed sand concrete using crushed sands produced in Yang-san, Kim-hae and Jin-hae that can assume to respectively represent eastern, middle and western suburb of Busan was carried out. Cases were divided as variation of blend ratio of crushed sand (50, 60, 70, 80, 90, 100$\%$) and area. Compressive strength, unit weight and strain in age of 28, 60, 90, 180, 356 days were measured in each case. Compressive strength, unit weight and modulus of elasticity were increased as time goes by and they are expected to keep on increasing in long-term age as well.

  • Generally, the strength of concrete depends on factors of materials, mix proportions, compaction, manufacturing methods and curing and so on. And recently, it has increased the using of crushed sand for concrete due to the exhaustion of good natural aggregate. This is an experimental study to compare and analyze the fluidity and compressive strength of ultra-high strength concrete according to the replacement ratio of crushed sand. For this purpose, the mix proportions of concrete according to the W/B ratio and replacement ratio of crushed sand was selected. And then air content, slump-flow, O-lot, compressive strength test were performed.

  • Recently, crushed fine aggregates are being widely used due to the shortage of natural sand. In Korea, the amount of fine particles under 0.08 mm contained in crushed fine aggregates is restricted to be less than 7%, which is similar to the regulations of ASTM but is still very strict compared to the regulations of the other nations. In addition, the crushed aggregates already have in them about 20% of fine particles under 0.08 mm which occurs while they are crushed. The fine particles are not easy to wash out, and also to maximize the use of resources it is deemed necessary to review the possibility of enhancing the limit of the amount of fine particles. Therefore, this study conducted experiments to analyze the characteristics of fine particles under 0.08mm and their influence on the properties of concrete. Experiments using silt and cohesive soil were also done for comparison. In the experiments on fine particles, the methylene blue value was more in the soil dust contained in silt and cohesive soil than in the stone powder contained in crushed fine aggregates. Also, the methylene blue value had a close correlation with packing density and liquid & plastic limit. In the experiments done with concrete, the quantity of high range water reducing agent demanded to obtain the same slump increased as the fine particle substitution rate heightened. However, in the experiment which used stone powder testing the compressive strength and tensile strength of concrete in the same water-cement ratio, there was little change in strength with less than 20% addition of fine particles among the fine aggregates, and no meaningful difference in the amount of drying shrinkage of concrete.
