This study aimed to investigate the current condition of student childcare training in Korea. Participants were 221 university professors, 467 childcare center directors, and 1,260 guidance teachers in Korea. They completed questionnaires the current condition of student childcare training centers, guidance teachers, student teachers, and student childcare training fees. The results showed 64.4% of these centers charged a student childcare training fee, and 35.6% of them did not charge a fee. The average student childcare training fee was 41,000 won. This study aims to offer a realistic understanding and effective information on student childcare training in Korea and to suggest practical standards for student childcare training.

This qualitative study explored the causes of student teacher stress during an early childhood teaching practicum and investigated the ways in which student teachers cope with this stress. Four student teachers in the same practicum placement were individually interviewed. The findings revealed that stress arose over a variety of concerns including both lack of professional knowledge related to the teaching practice and the challenges involved in establishing a positive relationship with their cooperating teacher, the parents and staff. The stress experienced by the student teacher was accompanied by physical symptoms such as exhaustion, fatigue, and the onset of vulnerability to colds. However, the students were found to be generally unsuccessful in managing their stress effectively. The results suggest that attempts to improve the practicum environment should be accompanied by academic interests and practical issues related to these stresses and that there is a clear need for programs designed to assist student teachers develop stress management skills.

본 연구는 최근 보육교사에 대한 자질 및 적성이 재논의 되고 보육실습생의 실습관련도 재평가의 필요성이 제기됨에 따라 보육실습생의 보육교사적성이 보육실습스트레스 및 스트레스대처에 어떠한 영향을 미치는가에 대해 알아보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 보육실습생 268명을 대상으로 자료를 수집한 결과, 첫째, 보육실습스트레스와 스트레스대처는 학년에 따른 차이만 보였다. 둘째, 보육교사적성의 하위변인 중 영유아에 대한 친화력이 낮을수록 어린이집원장 및 지도교사와의 관계에서 스트레스가 더 높은 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 보육교사적성 하위요인 가운데 창의성과 자기개발, 적극성, 긍정성이 높을수록 보육실습스트레스에 잘 대처하는 것으로 나타났다.

본 연구는 경기도 K시에 소재하고 있는 3년제 유아교육과 재학생들의 실습기관을 대상으로 서울 강서구, 인천광역시, 부천, 일산에 소재한 유치원과 어린이집 72군데에서 이루어진 유아교육과 재학생들의 실습현황과 교육환경을 알아보았다. 유아교육기관에서 이루어지는 실습생들의 실습지도 현황과 교사들의 근무시간, 급여. 유아교사와 기관장의 여성 편중화 현상 등에 대해 4주간의 교육실습 경험을 가진 예비교사들의 객관적 견해와 현황파악을 하여 자료를 제공함으로 실습지도 현황 파악에 목적을 두었다. 실태 분석 결과에 의하면 4주간의 현장실습은 유아교사를 지망하고 있는 유아교육과 재학생들이 현장을 이해하는데 상당히 도움이 되어 졸업 후 취업을 위해 긍정적으로 받아들여지고 있었으며 대부분의 실습생들은 유아교사로서 수업을 할 때 자신에게 가장 부담이 되고 부족함을 느꼈던 부분은 음악, 미술, 손유희 등의 실기부분이라고 답변했다. 또 남자교사의 필요성을 부분적으로 느끼고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 본 연구는 교육실습기관의 실습지도에 관한 구체적인 현황파악과 능력있는 유아교사 양성을 위해 대학교육과 현장의 유기적인 연계성을 갖기 위한 기초자료로서 제공 될 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.
