Enhancing Visual Perception Using Color Processing Of Mobile Display (색상처리를 통한 감성 모바일 디스플레이)

  • Mobile display panel is small so that users are often difficult to perceive images clearly. About image we perceive much through colors and therefore we propose color fitting approach for clear perception even on the small and low quality LCD panels. Various color modifications have been studied and used in commercial software packages. For mobile usage, our approach instantly enhances color images by modifying colors in a way to contrast differences of them. The method includes tone enhancements (which contrast dark and bright sides) and color enhancements (which reduce saturation for pure colorants). Based on color theory, our method also modifies color values towards specified complementary and preference colors. We term this color fitting. This approach enables displaying photos, multimedia messages, videos and digital media broadcasting (DMB) for better perception in real-time on mobile devices.   • In the modern 21st century society, the personal image is considered to be very important. As a result, the importance of presenting one's personal image through personal color in fashion and beauty related fields are increasing, and is the most realistic and practical field of color. When the color of the wardrobe and the skin color are in disharmony, that disharmony becomes the source of the lines and wrinkles that appear on one's face, resulting in shades. The boundary that is created when the color of the wardrobe and the skin color are in disharmony, it works negatively on one's image. When color arrangements are close or similar (in harmony) or are in complementary color arrangements or in strong contrasting state (contrasting harmony), it is generally believed to be beautifully harmonious. Personal color assessment is finding colors, through systematic and scientific methods, that improve the personal image by reaching harmony with skin colors that each and every individual are uniquely born with. In this study, one was able to learn the improved visual effects of the face image through creating harmony with the wardrobe and color shade make up and complementary colors that were selected based on personal colors. The base make up, through using the contrasting effects of the complementary colors which represents the supplementing, correcting, and complementing of the face image by contrasting with complementary colors, brings positive changes through correcting the base skin color. It is believed that this study finds its importance in that the improved image that is created by the overall harmony of the wardrobe and body can be used as valuable data in marketing and new product development efforts in the related industries.

  • The aim of this study was to analyze the effect of different sensory information on the motor function which is resulted from visual stimuli. Particularly, it was focused on the effect of complementary color stimuli on reaction time. Twenty volunteers(10 men & 10 women), between the age of 20 and 25 yearn participated in this experiment. Experiments were carried out in a light & sound-attenuated chamber, and the overall system consisted of a PC. interface card. LEDs. key board switch, and display panel. Although many measurements of sensory-motor integration has been studied the quantitative analysis of sensory-motor integration has not been developed well. Quantitative analyses were performed to investigate the effect of the different sensory information on the arm motor system in the point of view sensory-motor integration. The result showed that the reaction time for visual stimuli of complementary colors was faster than that under same color environments : and, in same color environments and the reaction speed was varied inversely with respect to the magnitude of the light wavelength.

  • 한국에서 재배되고 있는 벼 품종의 도열별에 대한 지속저항성 품종을 조기에 선발, 보급할 수 있는 방법을 보색하기 위하여 1985년부터 1994년까지 온실 유묘검정, 밭못자리 및 포장검정을 통하여 저항성 정도를 평가하고 재배면적과 재배기간을 참고로 하여 지속저항성 품종을 선발하였다. 도열병에 대한 저항성 품종으로는 다양한 레이스에 침해되면서 개체당 병반수 20개 이내, 밭못자리검정에서는 평균 발병정도 5이하, 본답에서의 잎도열병은 병반면적율 0.5%이하, 이삭도열병 발생은 이병수율 5% 이내로 병발생이 비교적 적은 섬진벼, 팔공벼 및 동진벼를 선발하였고, 지속저항성 품종으로는 재배기간이 10년 이상 유지되면서 재배면적은 전체재배 면적의 20% 이상을 차지하고 있는 품종 중 장기간 동안 저항성을 발현하는 동진벼를 선발하였다.

  • 중국의 생활수준이 갈수록 높아짐에 따라 중국 소비자들은 자신들이 구매하는 식품 안전성에 대해 관심이 커지고 있다. 중국은 주식이 쌀인데, 최근에 환경오염이 심해지고 소득수준이 향상되었기 때문에 안전한 유기농 식품 특히 유기농 쌀의 소비가 커지고 있다. 중국 유기농 쌀 제품의 차별화 요소는 있으나 다양성이 부족하고 색채에 있어서 보색을 많이 사용하여 저렴한 느낌을 주는 단점이 있다. 그래서 본 연구는 중국 TOP 10 브랜드 유기농 쌀의 패키지 색채 분석 통해 색채 사용의 문제점을 분석하였으며 중국 유기농 쌀 패키지디자인의 색채 개선방향은 컬러마케팅 적용을 통한 이미지와 색상을 일치시키는 것이 필요함을 알 수 있었다.

  • In order to color analyze of in Farnsworth Test Panel D-15 using a Protan, Deutan and Tritan test, we introduced the CIE system so that measured the reflectance light spectrum intensity in the 380~780 nm wavelength regions. The color difference of Panel D-15 was depended on the intensity of reflectance ratio in the 400~450 nm, 500~600 nm and more than 650 nm wavelength regions. From the reflectance spectra, we obtained the tristimulus X, Y, Z values, the $L^*a^*b^*$ and $L^*ab$ values of the 3-Dimension CIELAB system in a complement plane and light-darkness axis, the $U^*V^*$ values and the x, y values of chromaticity coordinates.

A Lip Detection Algorithm Using Color Clustering (색상 군집화를 이용한 입술탐지 알고리즘)

  • In this paper, we propose a robust lip detection algorithm using color clustering. At first, we adopt AdaBoost algorithm to extract facial region and convert facial region into Lab color space. Because a and b components in Lab color space are known as that they could well express lip color and its complementary color, we use a and b component as the features for color clustering. The nearest neighbour clustering algorithm is applied to separate the skin region from the facial region and K-Means color clustering is applied to extract lip-candidate region. Then geometric characteristics are used to extract final lip region. The proposed algorithm can detect lip region robustly which has been shown by experimental results.

  • This study analyzed the differences of tableware and garnish decoration in color and material by conducting a content analysis of 1,357 pictures from food-styling magazines and a survey of 84 restaurants in Seoul. The data used for the study were collected from Cookand and Best Home Magazine and the survey results of the restaurants. Results of the study were as follows: First, both food coordinators and upscale restaurants preferred porcelain while low-priced restaurants tended to use plastic as materials. Second, the preferred color of tableware was white as it is believed to represent the image of neatness and purity. Therefore, food coordinators prepared food in magazines for food-styling and upscale restaurants using white porcelain tableware, and low-priced restaurants also did using white plastic tableware. Finally, the preferred color of garnish decoration was green. Most professional food coordinators tended to use red and green colors to emphasize the combination of complement colors, and some expensive restaurants used five garnish decoration colors.

  • The significant role of colors in fashion design is not enough to emphasize in terms of one of the important design elements and its influences on the behaviors of the people. The purpose of this research is to examine the traditional Chinese colors and its ways of color combinations to appreciate the Chinese culture and its people. The Chinese traditional costume of Ching Dynasty were investigated through historic records, historic nobles, costume accessories and so on. The results of the study were summarized as follows: (1) The Blue was the most favoured color for clothing among men and women during Ching dynasty and various blues in terms of hue, value and intensities were used. (2) The bright Yellow which had been a symbol of Emperor were prohibited being used among people. Though, the late period of Dynasty, the regulation became not to strict and various shades of yellow families were adapted among People. (3) The Red which had been preferred during Ming Dynasty were constantly favoured for the formal wears of auspicious events such as weddings. (4) Dark color groups were loved for the clothing which were used as a ground colors against the flamboyant patterns revealing strong visual effects through value contrast or primary color combinations. (5) The White had a symbol of mourning and there were some intentions to adopt pale color groups such as mint, jade, gray, moon whit,. silver white to make up for white. (6) Contrast color combinations were one of the basic ways of color combination in Chinese traditional costume. Therefore Chinese color combinations has a strong visual effect and easy to draw attention of people by the contrast of the hue, value or intensity of color. (7) Multi-color combinations were another characteristics of Chinese costume in the formal wears which bears many surface designs. The surface decorated with full of motifs, were appreciated by the people expressing their longings and hopes through the auspicious meanings of patterns and striking visual effects of color combinations.

Faded Color Correction using Classification Map in LCybCrg Color Space (LCybCrg 색 공간에서 분류맵을 이용한 바랜 색 보정)

  • Generally, correction methods for faded images use illuminant estimation algorithms, such as the gray world assumption and white patch Retinex methods, as the phenomenon of color fading is regarded as an illuminant effect. However, this induces inaccurate faded color correction, as images fade at different rates according to the ink property, temperature, humidity, and illuminant. Therefore, this paper presents a color correction method for faded images using classification in LCybCrg color space. The input faded image is first separated according to the chromaticity based on LCybCrg opponent color space. The faded color correction is then performed based on the gray world assumption in RGB color space. Thereafter, weights calculated from CybCrg values are applied to reduce contour artifacts. As a result, the proposed method provides better color correction for faded images than previous methods.
