건강생활실천이 왜 필요한가1

  • 현대 질병의 구조가 비전염성 만성퇴행성 질환 중심으로 바뀜에 따라, 건강관리의 방법도 질병예방 중심으로 바뀌어야 한다고 한다. 또한 질병 예방을 위해서는 건강생활실천이 우선되어져야 한다는데, 그 이유를 현대 질병 구조의 변화와 그에 다른 여러 가지 상황 변화를 살펴보면서 알아보기 위해 본 논단을 마련했다. 이 원고는 한국보건사회연구원의 변종화 연구위원이 지난해 보건교육 담당자 교육에서 발판한 ‘국민건강증진 시범보건소 운영 모형’중 일부를 발췌한 것이다.

건강관리 성공사례담-구미시 공업단지 의료보험 조합

  • 건협 경북지부는 구미 공업단지 의료보험조합 산하 근로자에 대한 건강검사를 실시하고 있다. ‘87년 1만 명을 대상으로 실시했던 간염검사를 시작으로 해마다 이들에 대한 건강검사를 실시해 근로자들로부터 많은 신임을 얻고 있다. 근로자의 보건의식 향상을 위해서 그리고 국민건강 증진을 위해서는 우선적으로 보건계몽 교육을 정착시켜야 한다는 점이 새삼스럽게 증명되고 이를 확대시켜 나가는 계기가 되었던 이 검사의 현장을 찾아가 의보 담당자의 근로자들의 얘기를 직접 들어봤다.

Labor union associates' perception and participation on the safety and health education at work (노동조합관계자들의 산업장 안전보건교육 참여와 관련된 인식 특성)

  • Objectives: This study identified the labor union associates' perception and participation status on SHEW and analyzed these two Constructs correlations with Safety and health education at work(SHEW) in manufacture and construction industries. Methods: Self-administered survey was successfully finished by 103 labor union associates (91 employed in 78 manufacturing companies and 12 employed in 12 constructing companies over 12 areas). Two questionnaires, survey direction slip, the official letter to ask survey participation from Korea Ministry of Labor, and a posted envelop to return were delivered to each workplace labor union office in conveniently selected companies. Most participants' companies were at least medium to large in manufacturing industry and most associates were men and married. A survey questionnaire examined demographic characteristics, SHEW status (participation status included), and perceptions of SHEW. Results: Overall, manufacturing companies had better infrastructures for SHEW, employer support for SHEW, and current educators' competencies than constructing companies. These infrastructures for SHEW were closely correlated with company labor union participation on SHEW and the correlation coefficients were greater than any other expectations or needs variables for SHEW. Conclusions: The primary strategies for better participation and support from labor union need to be developed in supporting for organizational infrastructures related to SHEW and strengthening safety and health education training programs for supervisors or educators at work.

보건산업 종사자의 교육훈련 참여 애로요인에 대한 분석연구

  • 교육훈련은 기업의 인적자본을 축적하고 혁신을 자극하여 공급측면을 확장한다. 또한 기업 경쟁력 강화에 따른 임금상승과 소비증대, 투자 확대 등 총수요 확장효과도 있다. 그러나 만성적인 현장의 인력 부족, 높은 비정규직 비율 등의 특성을 안고 있는 중소기업의 경우 근로자에 대한 교육훈련 비율이 상대적으로 낮은 것으로 나타나고 있다. 본 연구는 미래신산업으로 평가받고 있는 보건산업분야 교육담당자 및 교육생을 대상으로 교육참여 애로사항을 조사하고 정책적 시사점을 도출하였다. 첫째, 업종 및 기업규모와 관련 없이 가장 큰 애로요인은 교육에 참가할 시간부족이 나타났다. 업종별로는 병원분야가 제조업인 제약, 의료기기, 화장품분야 보다 시간적 제약에 대한 지적이 많아 병원분야 인력부족 문제가 교육 참여에도 영향을 미치고 있는 것을 보여주었다. 둘째, 지방소재 기업일수록 지리적 접근성을 애로요인으로 지적하고 있어 지역 교육 및 기업 현장으로의 찾아가는 교육의 필요성이 도출되었다. 셋째, 중소기업에서 교육정보 인지도를 문제로 지적했는데, 이는 교육 관련 조직이 미비한 중소기업일수록 교육정보 확보 및 사내전파가 낮기 때문으로 추정된다. 이러한 연구결과는 단기 다수교육과정 즉 카페테리아식 교육과정과 사이버과정을 통한 종사자들의 선택권 강화, 지역 및 기업 현장으로의 찾아가는 교육, 중소기업에 대한 지속적인 교육정보 제공 및 사내 전파, 교육참여 우수기업과 종사자에 대한 표창 등의 유인체계가 필요함을 시사한다.

Evaluation of an Education Program for Public Health Service Workers in Public Hospitals: Learning Achievement and Satisfaction Levels (공공병원 공공보건의료사업 담당자를 위한 교육프로그램이 학습목표 성취도와 교육반응도에 미치는 효과)

  • Objectives: This study aims to evaluate the outcomes of an education program for public health service workers in public hospitals, utilizing the Kirkpatrick model. Methods: The study participants were 118 staff in 48 public hospitals. Of the stages in the Kirkpatrick model(reaction, learning, behavior, and result), reaction and learning stages were analyzed in this study. A 10-item self-evaluation questionnaire was used to measure satisfaction level for the reaction, and achievement of learning purposes for the learning. The education program consisted of general courses and special two tract courses(Tract A: chronic diseases, Tract B: health promotion). Results: The highest score for reaction was for Tract A(score=4.4), whilst the lowest score for reaction was for lecture(score=3.0). Learning achievement was significantly different between pre-education and post-education(p<0.01), except for health technicians. Conclusions: The results of this study could be utilized to develop effective systematic education programs for public health service workers in public hospitals.

A study on the knowledge and awareness of care workers on the geriatric oral health (요양보호사의 노인 구강보건에 대한 지식과 인식도 연구)

  • The study aims to examine the knowledge and awareness of care workers on oral health knowledge at the geriatric care facilities in order to improve and develop oral health services. For the research method, the study carried out a questionnaire survey to 163 care workers working at the geriatric care facilities (10) in D Metropolitan City from May 1~31, 2015 and then the collected data were statistically analyzed. As a result, the oral health knowledge of care workers was 20.09 points out of total 26 points (77.2%). The highest knowledge was 'proper toothbrushing method' with 93.0% and the lowest one was 'knowledge on the use of oral supplementary goods' with 58.1%. Those with experience of oral health education had higher demand on oral health education (P<0.001), and those with higher experience of oral health education had significantly higher oral health knowledge (P<0.001), demand (P<0.01) and awareness (P<0.05). As for factors influencing care workers' oral health awareness, if they had higher oral health knowledge points (P<0.01), oral health education demand (P<0.01), they had higher oral health awareness level. Accordingly, it is required to provide efficient, sustainable and practical oral health education of care workers considering oral characteristics of the long-term hospitalized patients at the care hospital. And, the role of dental hygienist as the person in charge of oral health education is necessary. Therefore, institutional support from the government is required to assign professional personnel.

Training, Working State and Ways of Improving Work of Sex Education Counselors in Health Centers (대구·경북지역 보건소 성교육 담당자의 훈련 및 업무현황과 개선방안)

  • This present study was conducted to reduce problems by analyzing training and work of sex education counselors and to come up with ways of improving sex education counseling. A survey was performed in 57 subjects at health centers who finished training on sex education counseling in Taegu Metropolitan City and cities, kuns, and gus of Kyongsangbuk Province from December, 1999 to February, 2000 on general characteristics, items relating to the work of sex education, and ways of improving work. The results are as follows. Out of the sex education counselors, there were 55 females, taking 99% out of the total counselors, and the average age of these counselors was 42 years. There were 26 nurses, and their government grade was level 7 in 36 and level 6 in 14. The members who had finished sex education counseling at each public health center was 2.1 counselors at an average. Among those had finished sex education training, 30 was not in sex counseling. When analyzed the answers given by 27 sex counselors who were counseling at the time and the results are as follows. As for the amount of work, 15 answered to have too much work and 1 little; as for having pride on being a sex education counselor, 18 answered to felt pride and 7 so-so; as for materials for sex education and counseling, 25 answered to use videos, 23 books, 10 pictures, 8 beam projectors, and 7 slides. All of the subjects answered to have other responsibilities besides sex education and counseling, and the satisfaction felt on having other responsibilities was 6 satisfied, 12 average, and 2 dissatisfied. The proportion of work load in sex education counselors was other work besides sex education 76.2%, sex education at schools 7.6%. collecting sex education materials 5.7%, counseling of adolescents 4.9%. development of sex education materials 3.5%, and administrative work related to sex education 3.1%. The biggest problem of their work was over-load in 9 respondents, lack of sex education materials in 8, lack of training in 6, and shortage of professionals in 2. As for the answer on the ways of improving matters related to work of sex education counselors, the most frequent answer was that the organizations responsible for sex education needs to be more professional and systematic, followed by dividing the work load so that they could concentrate on developing education materials and sex education and counseling. Thus, the results of the present study indicated that in order to utilize human resources efficiently, the speciality of counselors needs to be considered when making personnel transfers among health centers, and continued activity as a sex education counselor needs to promoted by reducing other overloading tasks. And systematic re-training of the counselors needs to be done, and education manuals that are diverse and realistic to applicable to the children, who are to be the subjects of sex education, need to be developed and distributed.

지역사회 건강관리담당자의 만성질환 관리실태:전라남도를 중심으로

  • Objectives: This study was performed to investigate the management status of chronic disease at community health centers. Methods: The study subjects were 450 employed persons at community health centers in Jeonlanamdo. General characteristics, status of chronic disease management and health education were collected for statistical analysis. The differences on management status among working areas were assessed with chi-square test and ANOVA. Results: The mean values of work duration were 18.7 years in rural, 14.4 years in fishing village, and 17.4 years in urban-rural, respectively. The number of management registration was highest in hypertension. The ways of disease management were medication check-up, diet stopping smoking. The contents of group health education were exercise, diet and prohibition of smoking. The place of health education was town assembling hall. The fields which officials wanted to be educated were symptom, diagnosis, treatment and complication. The most important field was early detection of chronic disease patients and health education. Finally, the field requiring support was work standardization. Conclusions: Community health workers have worked positively in chronic disease management. The barriers to work were the lack of professional and preliminary data. The support system with other health organ and health education were needed for the improvement of working ability.

서울시 에이즈 현황 및 관리대책 -올 3월까지 총 HIN감염인 1,069명-

  • 70년대 말에 발생된 것으로 추측된 이래 1980년대부터 세계적으로 심각한 보건문제로 떠오른 HIV/AIDS는 2003년 한 해 동안 500만 명이 새로 발생하여 현재 4,000만 명이 감염인인 채 살아가고 있다. 우리나라도 최근 1일 1.5명꼴로 발생하여 2004년 3월말 현재 2,679명(서울시 1,069명)이 발생하고 있으나, 감염인은 통계보다 더 많을 것으로 추측되고 있다. 이와 함께 에이즈에 대한 업무기피가 담당자의 수시 교체로 이어져 전문성 결여 등의 결과를 초래하여 우리시에서는 에이즈 예방에 관한 교육과 홍보를 전문단체에 위탁하여 사업을 수행하고 있다.
