The objective of this research was to analyze curriculum of dental hygiene education program for B.S degree in US and compare with Korea and Japan. The curriculum was classified six domain based on job classification and National Board Examination in Korea. Oral biology content included oral anatomy,dental anatomy,oral histology,oral pathology. Oral physiology was excluded. Clinical dentistry content included only oral radiology, periodontics, dental material,pain control. Most program integrated clinical dental hygiene courses. Most program provided dental practice management content and dental hygiene research courses. Diverse program such as A.S degree,B.S degree,degree completion,distance education programs enabled students to develop their career effectively.

There is a strong need to develop a training program for specialized personnel called mental health librarian. The study examines the necessity of ongoing education as series of steps to be considered in actual curriculum development, by looking at the features of bibliotherapy through a literature review and through an analysis to the requirements of a qualified mental health librarian and its training system. The result shows that, in order to train librarian in mental health, it is necessary to establish courses corresponding to the bibliotherapy field within the subject of library and information sciences and to strengthen the specialization in the its curriculum. It is desirable to establish the mental health librarian educational programs in library and information science graduate programs in Korea. The results of this study, as fundamental data for future research, will promote the role of the specialized mental health librarian and guidelines for developing and expanding the qualities and training of specialized librarian to resolve the immediate problem of the Korean library scene and academia.

Purpose: To investigate the status of health education courses in elementary schools. Method: From September to December in 2003, 607 school nurses were surveyed by questionnaires. Results: 1) Of the schools, 32.1% had health education programs as part of the school health service. A higher proportion was found in schools in suburban and rural areas. Mass media in health education was used by 75% of school nurses. Regular classes were more frequently utilized in schools in rural areas, while the classes in health-related subjects were utilized in urban areas. For 20.6% of school nurses, there was a substitute person to provide health care while the nurse was in health education classed, but 94.2% of school nurses found they had to give up health education due to pressure from other health services. 2) Of the nurses, 97.0% felt the need to provide health education courses, but 60.6% insisted that their work load needed to be modified and supplemental personnel were necessary if health education courses were to be provided. 3) More than 30% school nurses responded that educational materials and media, and concern by teachers and administrators were insufficient. 4) School nurses suggested that the content for health education courses should include healthy life and dental health care for students in lower grades, dental health care, sex education and safety for students in middle grades, and sex education and drug abuse prevention for students in higher grades. Conclusion: There is an urgent need to provide health education courses in elementary schools but conditions in the schools are not satisfactory. For successful school health services, personnel supplement, modified work loads and sufficient educational materials and media should be in place before health education courses are provided.

Voluntarism as an ethics standard for the human race in the 21st Century, suggest to us partical and realistic measures as well as an ideological framework which can solve the problems in the national area. Volunteer activities in the society by university and university students are very important within the nation, provincial communities as well as in the country area. This study focuses on voluntary activities of university students of all the local university on gyungsang buk do after looking in to the present situation of voluntarism and issues and seeks to search into the policy issues that university students voluntary activities should be directed towards. For the active execution of college students voluntary activities, it is necessary to establish partnerships between local communities and university, policy support from the university authorities, program development and expansion of the boundaries of volunteer avtivities, and connections between university Health voluntary health center.

In this study, we examined the satisfaction level of J university's compulsory liberal arts subject with quantitative research. The results quantitative research are as follows. First, men are more interested in creative thinking, college life guidance and career path design than girls. Second, the level of satisfaction with the required liberal arts subject by grade was found to be without a statistical significant difference. Third, the satisfaction level of each line of learning was shown in the order of natural engineering, health and welfare, physical fitness, and humanities. The satisfaction level of the lines of learning was found to vary. Fourth, The satisfaction level of each campus was found to vary. The results of this study could be used as basic data to improve the college liberal arts curriculum, especially the compulsory liberal arts curriculum. Objectives: This study describes the development process of courses for health education specialists. The history, background, development process, and contents of courses for health education specialists are described. Results and Conclusion: In order to enhance the course implementation and training for health education specialists, the followings should be considered: First, the course and examination requirements for Health Education Specialist Level 3 should be increased. Second, requirement policies for elective courses should be revised. Third, health education practicum requirements should be specified, including specific training contents, types of participating training organizations, and the number of hours required. Fourth, support should be made available for revision and improvement of the courses such as Health Program Planning and Evaluation, Health Education Methods, Health Program Management, Health Communication, and Health Ethics.

대학에서 학습효과를 높이기 위해 신입생들을 대상으로 기초학습능력검사를 실시하고 있다. 대학별 수시 비율이 높아짐에 따라 특성화고등학교 학생들이 입학의 기회 폭이 증가하였다. 이과와 문과의 계열성을 떠나 수학, 영어 등의 기본 교육과정이 다르기 때문에 대학에 진학해서 그동안 배우지 않은 전공 교과목에 많은 어려움을 느끼고 있다. 이에 본 연구는 보건계열 치위생과에 입학한 학생들의 가장 기본 전공과목인 치위생학개론 수업 전 구강에 관련된 지식을 다 각도에 따라 분석하여 이를 기초한 교수 학습 방법 및 학습자의 능동적인 수업 참여와 함께 동기 유발이 될 수 있도록 함에 있다.

In this paper, an effective curriculum for the department related to industrial safety and health is developed through task analysis by the following approaches. The first approach is DACUM. The method is reflected the demand of industrial fields on subjects in curriculum. In this paper, DACUM workshop involves a trained DACUM facilitator and a committee of 6 expert workers from industrial safety and health area. 21 subjects which are necessary in the industrial fields have been selected by the DACUM analysis. The other is to understand the relative importance among each subject by AHP method. The relative importance of the subject is shown in the order of safety management, mechanical safety, construction safety, human factors engineering and system safety, chemical safety, electric safety by AHP analysis. The competition of department can be improved, if the result of this research is adapted to the department curriculum related to industrial safety and health.

The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of SERVICE-LEARNING related to geriatric oral health according to dental hygiene education. The result of this study were summarized as follows: 1. Self-efficacy and altruism & social responsibility was higher in post SERVICE-LEARNING than in pre SERVICE-LEARNING(p < 0.05). 2. Comparing pre-score of self-efficacy and altruism & social responsibility in terms numbers of grade and service frequency, they showed statistically significant (p < 0.05). 3. Comparing the service frequency and satisfaction score after SERVICE-LEARNING, they showed statistically significant (p < 0.05). 4. Comparing service satisfaction score in terms numbers of grade and service frequency, they showed statistically significant (p < 0.05). 5. Comparing the service frequency and curriculum subject evaluation after SERVICE-LEARNING, they showed statistically significant (p < 0.05). 6. Comparing the curriculum subject evaluation score in terms numbers of grade and service frequency, they showed statistically significant (p < 0.05). 7. Result of post test(1 & 3grade, 2 & 3grade) for score difference of self-efficacy, altruism & social responsibility, service satisfaction, curriculum subject evaluation showed statistically significant(p < 0.05).
