Influence of Boundary Stress Singularities on the Vibration of Clamped and Simply Supported Sectorial Plates With Various Radial Edge Conditions (다양한 방사연단 조건을 갖는 고정 및 단순지지 부채꼴형 평판 진동에 대한 경계응력특이도의 영향)

  • This paper reports the first-of-its-kind free vibration solutions for sectorial plates having re-entrant corners causing stress singularities when the circular edge is either clamped or simply supported. The Ritz method is employed with two sets of admissible functions assumed for the transverse vibratory displacements. Accurate frequencies and normalized contours of the transverse vibratory displacement are presented for the spectra of sector angles.

  • The resolution of analog sensor is determined by its sensitivity and amplitude of noise. This paper presents modeling of inductive gap sensor base on equivalent magnetic circuit and analysis of sensitivity. We can simulate static characteristic of inductive gap sensor using this model. Computer simulation show that sensor's sensitivity is affected by magnetic flux's leakage and fringing, and that they are affected by shape of sensor probe. Base on this, we designed shape of inductive position sensor probe.

  • To investigate the vortex induced vibrations the 2-d.o.f. spring mounted circular cylinder was tested in the wind tunnel. The circular cylinder was designed to have the translational and the rotational mode uncoupled to each other. During the wind tunnel tests the resonance behaviors of the translational and the rotational modes by the locking-on phenomena were observed. From the locking-on phenomena observed it is shown that the vortex shedding is correlated with the responses of the structures. And the forces generated by the vortex shedding are influenced by the amplitudes and the frequencies of the cylinders.

  • An algorithm is proposed for computing dynamic displacements of a bridge using FBG sensors. An existing algorithm for estimating dynamic displacements of a simply supported beam through mode superposition is extended and applied to various types of bridges with bending and torsional modes. The proposed algorithm is examined through field tests on a suspension span steel deck plate box girder bridge. Guidelines are provided for determining the number of modes and the number of strain gages to be used.

  • 비접촉방법데 의한 변위 측정기술은 공작물의 가공중(in-process)형상치수의 측정 또는 각종 계 측에 대한 자동화기술의 필요성이 증대됨에 따라 다양한 원리를 응용하여 발전되고 있다. 전통적인 방법으로는 가변 리럭턴스(variable reluctance)형, 와전류(eddy current)형, 콘덴서(capacitance)형 등의 전기적 센서들이 주를 이루고 있으나 최근에 들어서는 광전자기술의 발달에 힘입어 여러 광학 측정법들이 연구되어 실용화 되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 측정자동화 용도로 사용될 수있는 광삼각법에 의한 비접촉방식의 광학센서에 대한 기본 연구 결과를 서술하였다. 광삼각 비접촉 측정의 기본 원리와 측정 범위 및 분해능 관점에서의 센서 설계의 기본 방법을 제시하며 또한, 실제적인 센서의 설계 및 제작을 위해 응용될 수 있는 기본광학소자의 현 기술적 수준과 성능을 기술하였다. 최종적으로는 실제적인 센서의 설계제작 과정과 시제품의 성능 실험을 통한 응용 가능성이 검토되었다.

Improvement of Finite Element for Mindlin Plate Bending (Mindlin 평판 유한요소의 개선)

  • The present work is concerned with the improvement of finite element for the analysis of plate bending structures. The element formulation is based upon Mindlin plate concept. The displacement field of this element is formed by adding nonconforming modes to two rotational displacement components of a 'heterosis plate element. The element has the requisite numbers of zero eigenvalues associated with rigid body modes to avoid the spurious zero energy mode. It is shown that the results obtained by the element converged to the exact solutions very rapidly as the mesh is refined and exhibited reliable solutions through numerical studies for standard benchmark problems. This element is shown to overcome the shear locking problem completely in very thin plate situation even for irregular meshes.

  • A simple finite element approach to predicting deformed shape and load-deflection curve of elastomers is presented in this paper. The method is based on several simplifications in deformation pattern and material behavior. The conventional updated Lagrangian approach is employed together with material data obtained by a simple tension test. The presented approach is verified through comparison of predicted results with experimental ones and applied successfully to shape design of various elastomers for shock, vibration and noise control. The advantage of the presented approach lies in easiness, simplicity and accuracy enough for engineering application.

  • A new design of cylindrical capacitive sensor(CCS) for the displacement measurement of precision active magnetic bearing(AMB) spindle is presented in this paper. This research is motivated by the problem that existing 4-segment CCS is still sensitive to the $3^{rd}$ harmonic component of the geometric errors of a rotor. The procedure of designing new CCS starts from the modeling and error analysis of CCS. The angular size of CCS is set up as a design parameter, and new 8-segment CCS is introduced to possess an arbitrary angular size. The optimum geometry of CCS to minimize the effect of geometric errors is determined through minimum norm approach. Experimental results with test rotors have confirmed the improvement in geometric error suppression.

  • One of the often espoused merits of close-range photogrammetry is the effectiveness of the method for measuring non-accessible objects of unusual and complex shape. In this study, techniques of deformation measurement using close-range photogrammetry for electric power structures were developed. Absolute deformation could be found efficiently through close-range photogrammetry in the structure deformation analysis based on time variation. Also, feasibility of the structures management system was presented based on this study.

  • Conventional force sensors such as piezoelectric sensor has limitations for measuring micro/nano-scale thrust. In this study we developed nano-scale measurement system using laser displacement sensor and cantilever. And electrospray microthruster was fabricated by using stainless capillary and extraction electrode, to generate nano-scale thrust. The measurement system can measure the around 90 nN thrust from this thruster. In addition, we designed and fabricated electrospray micro thruster based on PMMA(Polymethyl methacrylate), which has a nozzle protruded from the substrate.
