An Analysis on the seismic Performance of Additional Shear-Wall Construction for the Remodeling of Shear-Wall Type Apartment Buildings (벽식구조 아파트 리모델링을 위한 전단벽 신설공법의 내진성능 분석)

  • The purpose of this study is to suggest structural design guidelines in additional shear-wall construction method for apartment remodeling with understanding the effects of the position, length and thickness of the additional walls. The slab-wall frames under seismic loads are analyzed using effective beam width model, which can practically evaluate the structural performance of existing building system. According to the results, proper design guidelines of additional shear-wall construction method(position, length and thickness) is suggested to get the required seismic performance.

The Nonlinear Behavior Characteristics of the 3D Mixed Building Structures with Variations in the Lower Stories (입체 복합구조물의 하부골조 층수 변화에 따른 비선형 거동특성)

  • The upper wall-lower frame structures(mixed building structures) are usually composed of shear wall structure in the upper part of structure which is used as residential space and frame structure in the lower part of structure which is used as commercial space centering around the transfer system in the lower part of structure. These structures are characteristics of stiffness irregularity, mass irregularity, and vertical geometric irregularity. The purpose of this study is to investigate the nonlinear response characteristics and the seismic capacity of mixed building structures when the number of stories in the lower frame is varied. The conclusions of this study are following. 1) As the result of push-over analysis of structure such as roof drift(i.e. roof displacement/structural height) and base shear coefficient, when the stories of lower frame system are increased, base shear coefficient is decreased, but roof drift is increased. 2) According to an increase in stories of the lower fame, story drift and ductility ratio of upper wall system are decreased and behavior of upper wall system is closed to elastic. 3) When the stories of lower frame system are increased, the excessive story drift is concentrated on the lower frame system.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the seismic behavior of reinforced concrete pier walls under cyclic out-of-plane loading and to develop improved seismic design criteria. The accuracy and objectivity of the assessment process can be enhanced by using a sophisticated nonlinear finite element analysis program. A computer program, named RCAHEST (Reinforced Concrete Analysis in Higher Evaluation System Technology), for the analysis of reinforced concrete structures was used. A 4-node flat shell element with drilling rotational stiffness is used for spatial discretization. The layered approach is used to discretize the behavior of concrete and reinforcement through the thickness. Material nonlinearity is taken into account by comprising tensile, compressive and shear models of cracked concrete and a model of reinforcing steel. The method is verified a useful tool to assess the seismic performance of reinforced concrete pier walls subjected to cyclic out-of-plane load through comparing with reliable experimental results.

  • 불연속적 거동이 탁월한 벽식 프리캐스트 구조물을 해석하기 위한 방법으로 유한요소법과 강체요소법 등이 있으나, 이들 해석법은 접합부의 거동을 정확히 반영하지 못하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 패널은 강체적 거동을 하고, 판널과 판널 사이의 접합부는 고체적 거동을 가정하는 강체-고체 복합모델(Coupled Model by Rigid and Solid bodies)에 의한 해석법을 제안하며, 간단한 모델의 예를 통해 검증하였다.

Seismic Performance Preliminary Evaluation Method of Reinforced Concrete Apartments with Bearing Wall system (기존 철근콘크리트 벽식 공동주택의 내진 성능 예비 평가법에 관한 연구)

  • In Korea, the seismic design regulations was established since 1988 about regularity scale of structures. However, It was not established about seismic performance and evaluation method as the most existing buildings was constructed before Earthquake-Resistant Design(1988). In this study, for model structures which are 4 units of non-seismic designed apartment and 3 units of seismic designed in Korea performed seismic performance evaluation by suggested KISTC (2004). And the result compare to evaluate Capacity Spectrum Method by using MIDAS Gen and SDS. As a result, we observed that suggested KISTC's method have overestimated for shear stress and drift index. The purpose of this study provides most conformity seismic performance evaluation process and the appropriate method of calculating the seismic performance index in Korea.

Efficient Three Dimensional Analysis of High-Rise Shear Wall Building with Openings (개구부가 있는 고층 벽식 구조물의 효율적인 3차원 해석)

  • The box system that is composed only of reinforced concrete walls and slabs we adopted on many high-rise apartment buildings recently constructed in Korea. And the framed structure with shear wall core that can effectively resist horizontal forces is frequently adopted for the structural system for high-rise building structures. In these structures, a shear wall may have one or more openings for functional reasons. It is necessary to use subdivided finite elements for accurate analysis of the shear wall with openings. But it would take significant amount of computational time and memory if the entire building structure is subdivided into a finer mesh. An efficient analysis method that can be used regardless of the number, size and location of openings is proposed in this study. The analysis method uses super element, substructure, matrix condensation technique and fictitious beam technique. Three-dimensional analyses of the box system and the framed structure with shear wall core having various types of openings were performed to verify the efficiency of the proposed method. It was confirmed that the proposed method have outstanding accuracy with drastically reduced time and computer memory from the analyses of example structures.

  • Safety and efficiency in the construction of RC structures mainly depends on optimal operation of shore-slat systems. The disasters in RC construction are mainly due to excessive load applied to falsework and premature removal of supports. Development of sufficient compressive strength of early-age connote is essential for the safety of structures during construction. Most of studies on shore-slab interaction have focused on flat slab structures. In this study, load distributions in floor slabs and supports during the construction of shear wall-type RC apartment building structures is investigated using finite element analysis.

  • In this paper, TVLEM is selected for the shear wall model which was proposed by Kabeyasawa and the characteristics of spring models composing TVLEM was studied. In axial stiffness spring model, the horizontal displacements when Kabeyasawa model and simple axial stiffness hysteresis model were used, were closely similar. When the large shear-displacement was occured, stiffness degrading model was more adquate to the shear wall modelling than OOHM. Also for the purpose of modelling the horizontally continuous wall, the seperational method for TVLEM was used. The results of nonlinear analysis by this method were closely similar to experimental results .
