This work, which was about the synthesis of 3-(1,8-Naphthalimido) propyl methacrylate and GMA copolymers and their physical properties, investigated the compositions of the copolymer, the reactivity ratios of the monomer, resonance effect(Q), polar effect(e) and fluorescence effect of 1,8-naphthalicanhydride. Azobisisobutyronitronitryl(AIBN) as an initiator was employed at $60^{\circ}C$ with dimethylformamide(DMF) of solvent for the copolymerization of NIPM. $r_1$ was found to be higher than $r_2$ from the reactivity ratios of the monomer obtained from F-R and K-T methods. NIPM was found to be more copolymerized than GMA. The fluorescence spectrums of these polymers showed a weak monomer fluorescence band at 380 nm and a strong excimer fluorescence band at about 460 nm.

The determination of chlorite ion by flow injection analysis(FIA) with iodometric UV detection were investigated. Under rather acidic condition, chlorite ion react with iodide ion to form iodine and itself is reduced to chloride ion. The chlorite ion was determined indirectly by measuring absorbance of yellow colored iodine at 370 nm. The lengths of the mixing coil and the reaction coil, the pH of the acid stream, the concentration of the iodide ion, the injection loop volume, temperature, and flowrate were optimized as parameters for selectively determining a sort of inorganic disinfection by-product, chlorite ion by using FIA-UV detection setup. Masking agents for removing oxidants or interferences from the prepared water were tested. Independent calibration curve presented linear range of 0.002-0.2 mg/L for chlorite ion with a correlation coefficient of 0.999 or better. The limit of detection(LOD) was 0.18 ${\mu}g/L$ for chlorite ion.

In this research, we have synthesized new pendant-type polyurethane polymers by introducing various chromophores with stilbene derivatives in the side-chain of the polymer backbone. The Stilbene monomers, N,N-bis(2-hydroxyethyl) amino-4'-cyanostilbene, N,N-bis(2-hydroxyethyl)amino-4'-methoxy stilbene, N,N-bis(2-hydroxyethyl)amino-4'-acetylstilbene, and N,N-bis(2-hydroxyethyl) amino stilbene, were synthesized by Wittig reaction. Another stilbene monomer, N,N-bis(2-hydroxyethyl)amino-4'-nitrostilbene, was synthesized by Knoevenagel condensation. By the measurement of UV-Vis absorption and Photoluminescence (PL) spectrum, we found that introduction of the electron-withdrawing group as a substituent shifts both UV-Vis and PL spectra to longer wavelength, and the introduction of the electron-donating group results in blue-shift of the spectrum. In case of polymer with $NO_2$ group as a substituent, PL is quenched.

Ceramic pigments, which show good thermal and chemical stabilities, have been applied for various industry with development of digital printing technology. Ceramic inkjet printing has advantages of high efficiency of ink usage and eco-friendly process. Thus, the interest of the ceramic pigments with various function and color including CMYK (cyan, magenta, yellow, black) digital primary color is increasing. Here, we investigated the thermal and chemical stabilities of white ceramic pigment for digital inkjet printing process. The microstructure and crystal structure of MgO, $Al_2O_3$, $MgAl_2O_4$, $CeO_2$ were analyzed, and the stability with glaze were evaluated. In order to evaluate the applicability for digital inkjet printing, the chemical stability of white ceramic pigments at high temperature was investigated by characterization of the mixed color properties with CMYK ceramic pigments after firing process.
This work, which was about the synthesis of naphthalimidopropyl acrylate and GMA copolymers and their physical properties, investigated the compositions of the copolymer, the reactivity ratios of the monomer, resonance effect (Q), polar effect (e) and fluorescence of naphthalene. Azobisisobutyronitronitryl (AIBN) as an initiator was employed at $60^{\circ}C$ with dimethylformamide (DMF) of solvent for the copolymerization of NIPA. $r_1$ was found to be higher than $r_2$ from the reactivity ratios of the monomer obtained from Fineman-Ross (F-R), Kelen-$T{\ddot{u}}d{\ddot{o}}s$(K-T) methods. NIPA was found to be more copolymerized than GMA. $r_1{\cdot}r_2$ product was lower than 1, copolymerization was maked random-alternating type. The fluorescence spectrum of these polymers showed a weak monomer fluorescence band at 380 nm and a strong excimer fluorescence band at about 460 nm. Fluorescence life time of NIPA monomer showed fluorescence cover with UV 355 nm at room temperature, and life time showed $5.1449{\times}10^{-7}s$.

Rapid and accurate identification of marine microalgae causing harmful algal blooms (HABs) is a crucial tool for predicting and managing HABs. We previously developed a nuclease protection assay sandwich hybridization (NPA-SH) method for the in situ detection of blooming microalgae Cochlodinium polykrikoides. In this study, we improved the applicability of the NPA-SH method for the detection of C. polykrikoides by simplifying the reaction step. For this purpose, invertase (INV) was conjugated to the signal probe instead of using fluorescence, and sucrose was used as a reactant to induce a color reaction. The INV-signal probe conjugation was confirmed by SDS-PAGE and epifluoromicroscopy. The treatment time and appropriate amounts of the probe and sucrose that optimized the reaction were determined. As a result, the developed INV-SH reduced the treatment time in the field compared with NPA-SH, and also enabled the use of a relatively small volume and low-priced personal glucose meter, as well as an absorbance meter. INV-SH is the first C. polykrikoides species identification technology to which INV has been applied and could be an improved field technique.
To analyse the antigen specificity of patients sera from 24 confirmed neurocysticercosis and a monoclonal antibody, SDS-PAGE using 10~15% linear gradient gel and EITB were done. Cystic fluid, saline extracts of scolex and of whole worm of C. cellulosae, saline extracts of sparganum, hydatid cyst fluid, saline extracts of Fasciola, Clonorchis and Paragonimus were used as antigen. Of protein bands in cystic fluid of C. cellulosae, patient sera reacted frequently to bands of 152, 94, 64, 48, 24, 15, 10 and 7kDa proteins. To saline extracts of scolex and whole worm of C. cellulosae, patients sera reacted frequently to 94, 64, 52, 39, 34, 15 and 10kDa bands. Two bands in sparganum extract (130 and 64kDa) and two bands in hydatid cyst fluid (52 and 27kDa) were cross-reacting bands with sera from cysticercosis patients. Saline extracts of Fasciola, ClonorchiJ and Paragonimus did 'not exhibit cross-reacting bands. Monoclonal antibody to cystic fluid of C. cellulosae was found to react with low molecular weight proteins of 15, 10 and 7kDa.

Sera from confirmed patients of 5 hydatidosis, 67 neurocysticercosis and 89 other parasitic diseases were tested for specific antibody (IgG) levels by ELISA to cystic quid antigens from metacestodes of Echinococcus granuzosus (HF) and Taenia sodium (CF). All hydatidosis sera reacted positively to both HF and CF while neuro- cysticercosis sera did in 49.3% to HF and 85.1% to CF, The frequencies of cross- reactions were lower in other parasitic diseases to both antigens, By SDS-PAGE, protein bands of 64, 35, 22 and 7 kilodaltons (kDa) were found common in HF and CF. SDS-PAGE/immunoblot exhibited that hl·datidosis sera reacted crossly to CF at 135, 110, 100, 86, 64, 45, 39, 35 and 24 kDa bands while neurocysticercosis sera did to HF at 135, 100, 86, 64, 52, 39, 35, 29 and 24 kDa bands. These results indicated that protein bands of 135, 100, 86, 64, 39, 35 and 24 kDa were major common components in HF and CF. Protein bands of 7 kDa in HF and 15, 10 and 7 kDa in CF did not react crossly and were specific components in respective antigens.
Human gastric adenocarcinomas are fixated with low energy of microwave (LEM) to study fixation effects in level of ultrastructure and antigenicity of the cancer. For the Ag-Ab reactions , the LEM fixated sdenocarcinomas are incorporated with monoclonal mouse anti-human p53 (IgG2b, kappa) and rabbit anti human cerbB-2. The retrieval of antigenicity are easily recognizable in the LEM fixated sections compared with that of frozen sections which show often diffused colour reactions. And the LEM fixation methods have preserved ultrastructures of the adenocarcinoma, but it was often difficult to maintain constancy in fixation effects. For the constancy, LEM was coupled with low concentration of chemical fixatives, such as glutaraldehyde (<1%) and $OsO_4$ (<0.5%). The results were acceptable, but there are tendencies that the adenocarcinoma requisitioned rather weak microwave energy to come into the optimal fixation effects. Therefore , cultured HeLa cells were fixated with lower energy of microwave than that used to the adenocarcinoma. The ultrastructures of the single HeLa cell have been preserved. The results may imply that a different energy levels of microwave are requisitioned in accordance with kinds of cells and tissues for the optimal fixation effects. It is reported and discussed that the fixation methods of LEM used in this work could be applied routinely to conceal a insufficient diffusion rate of chemical fixatives into some kinds of cancer without compromising the ultrastructures as well as to improve antigenic quality of frozen sections.
An investigation was carried out to study the characteristics of lipoxygenase in dioctyl sulfosuccinate (aerosol-OT, AOT)/isooctane revered micelles of microaqueous system containing infinitesimal water. ${\alpha}-Linoleic$ acid as a substrate could be analyzed by the colorimetric methodology using 5%(w/v) cupric acetate-pyridine solution and the activity of lipoxygenase was able to be assayed by the degree of ${\alpha}-linoleic$ acid consumption per minute. Optimal pH, temperature, and R-value ([water]/[AOT]) were determined as the value of 5.0, $25^{\circ}C$, and 10.0, respectively. Kinetic analysis of the enzyme reaction under the optimal conditions showed that the values of $K_m$ and $V_{max}$ were 0.31 mM of ${\alpha}-linoleic$ acid and $384.16{\mu}mol$ of ${\alpha}-linoleic$ acid decomposed/min, respectively. The results indicate the reaction to be lipoxygenase-catalyzed oxidation of ${\alpha}-linoleic$ acid in AOT/isooctane reversed micellar system. The inhibitory effect of natural antioxidants on lipoxygenase showed little inhibitory effect of L-ascrobic acid while ${\alpha}-tocopherol$ showed 72% of inhibitory effect.
