A dual-mode multiplier (DMM) that performs single- and double-precision multiplications has been designed. An algorithm for efficiently implementing double-precision multiplication with a single-precision multiplier was proposed, which is based on partitioning double-precision multiplication into four single-precision sub-multiplications and computing them with sequential accumulations. When compared with conventional double-precision multipliers, our approach reduces the hardware complexity by about one third resulting in small silicon area and low-power dissipation at the expense of increased latency and throughput cycles.

This research conducted concerning measures for the influence reduction to an investigation in the structure of offshore breakwater maintenance, an evaluation, a reexamination of the forecast, and a peripheral sediment transport environment. Furthermore, it aimed at the establishment of the beach transformation forecast method based on a hydraulic model study and a numeric simulation. A good result was obtained from a hydraulic model experiment and a numeric simulation as part of the basic research. And a qualitative evaluation of the flow field around the structure became possible since a numeric simulation examined flow field characteristics.

Many methods are available to measure leaf area index(LAI) directly and are variations of either Leaf area index(LAI) and leaf angle distribution are widely used indices of canopy structure that are difficult to measure directly. Direct measurements of canopy structure are tedious and labor intensive in small canopies and nearly impossible in large forest canopies. This study introduced fundamental theories in LAI measurements and applied that for several crops.
