  • FREP(Fiber Reinforced Epoxy Panel) are used for strengthening the damaged RC beams due to its good tensile strength, low weight, resistance to corrosion, and easy applicability. This study sets up structure equation for FREP bending reinforcement before and during the usage of RC beam. It finds the difference and finds the mechanical characteristics of rip-off failure that is caused by stress concentration in reinforcement material cutting part to estimate the performance of bending reinforcement. The result of this research can be summarized as two main consequences. The main failure of FREP reinforced concrete beam is rip-off failure and it evaluated rip-off failure of RC reinforcing bean based on the test and analytical conditions of this study. It found that stress was concentrated due to rapid change of bending rigidity in reinforced cutting part as a result of excessive reinforcement thickness of FREP. It resulted in rip-off failure. It means that it should evaluate the rip-off failure when designing reinforcement. It analyzed the reinforcement effect according to reinforced period for FREP. It found that reinforcement effect of P-Type that was reinforced during the usage decreased compared to I-Type that was reinforced before the usage. So when reinforcing a existing structure that is being used, it should consider the stress that is produced due to the fixed load.

  • Numerical analysis was performed on the shock wave-boundary layer interaction generated in the internal flow path of the curved interstage of the scramjet engine flight test vehicle. For numerical analysis, the turbulence model k-ω SST was used in the compressibility Raynolds Averaged Navier Stokes(RANS) equation. Representatively, the separation bubbles on the upper wall of the nozzle, the interaction between the concave shock wave and the boundary layer, and the shock wave-shock wave interaction at the edge were captured. The analysis result visualizes the shock wave-boundary layer interaction of the curved internal flow path to enhance understanding and suggest design considerations.

  • The weathering characteristics of periodically submerged sedimentary rocks in the Sayeon dam, Ulsan was examined by field work, electron probe micro-analysis, X-ray diffraction, and X-ray fluorescence spectrometry. Analysis of fracture zone and exfoliation showed the submerged sedimentary rocks have undergone severe mechanical weathering. Mechanical weathering in the water-rock interface accelerated chemical weathering, such as dissolution and alteration of the most of minerals except for quartz in the weathering zone. The dissolution of carbonates specially calcite, is remarkable creating the cavities, whereas formation of minerals including clay minerals is not active. The sedimentary rocks have been periodically submerged for a certain period of time, and have repeated freezing and thawing. This mechanical weathering favored infiltration, which accelerated mineral dissolution. The high content of easily soluble carbonate of the sedimentary rocks is likely the major cause of intense chemical weathering. The dissolved elements within the infiltrated water interrupted the occurrence of clay and weathering minerals, and expend fractures by infiltrated water accelerated weathering process.

  • Finite element analysis of T-beam laminate structure under bending-torsional loading was conducted to prevent the delamination which is the major failure behavior on laminated composites. Three-dimensional preform, which is that fabric is braided through thickness direction, is suggested from the laminate analysis. The analysis aimed to optimize the fiber ratio in laminated composites. After it is suggested that guideline for design of T-beam structure using commercial software ANSYS Composites PrePost. The results show that strength of T-beam structure is increased 21.6% when the fiber density along with beam length direction is two times bigger than transverse direction. It is expected that development of high strength T-beam structure using designed three-dimensional preform.

  • Increasing cruise speed is an important issue for the development of the next generation rotorcraft. Among several concepts proposed by previous research, the rotorcraft with ducted fan demonstrates its possibility of high-speed flight. In this study, numerical simulations are conducted to investigate the aerodynamic and flow characteristics of multi-ducted fan in forward flight. The aerodynamic efficiency around front ducted fan is determined by interaction between free-stream velocity and the induced velocity. While flow characteristics of rear ducted fan are dominantly influenced by the front ducted fan. Separation in the front ducted fan occurs faster than that of rear ducted fan, and the separation at duct inlet induces an increase of fan thrust. As a result of interaction effect between each ducted fan, relatively aligned inflow enters to the rear ducted fan. Therefore, thrust of the rear fan is decreased steadily before separation, and sudden changes of thrust in fans occur simultaneously. Due to the pressure decrease on lower surface, the normal force of rotorcraft is reduced with forward speed.

  • The Physics of the Plume-induced shock and separation Particularly at a high Plume to exit pressure ratio and supersonic speeds up to Mach 3.0 with and without a passive control method, porous extension, were studied using computational techniques. Mass-averaged Navier-Stokes equations with the RNG $\kappa$-$\varepsilon$ turbulence model were solved using a fully implicit finite volume scheme and a 4-stage Runge-Kutta method. The control methodology for plume-afterbody interactions is to use a perforated wall attached at either the nozzle exit or the edge of the missile base. The Effect of porous wall length on plume interference is also investigated The computational results show the main effect of the porous extension on plume-afterbody interactions is to restrain the plume from strongly underexpanding during a change in flight conditions. With control, a change in porous extension length has no significant effect rut plume interference.

  • The plume interference is a complex phenomenon, consisting of plume-induced boundary layer separation, separated shear layer, multiple shock waves, and their interactions. The base knowledge of plume interference effect on powered missiles and flight vehicles is not yet adequate to get an overall insight of the flow physics in plume-freestream flow field. Computational studies are performed to better understand the flow physics of the plume-induced shock and separation for Simple, Rounded, Porous-extension test model configurations. The present study simulates highly underexpanded exhaust plume effect on missile body at the transoni $c^ersonic speeds. In order to investigate the plume-induced separation phenomenon, Simple, Rounded and Porous-extension plate are attacked to the missile afterbody. The computational result shows that the rounded afterbody and the porous-extension wall attached at the missile base can alleviate the plume-induced shock wave and separation phenomenon and improve the control of the missile body.dy.

  • This study is to manufacture HSCC (High flowing Self-Compacting Concrete) be able to construction without vibration & hardening, and it is stable according to the change of the surface number of aggregate and to examine the factor of reduction occurred before after hardening through the indoor experiment. It is essential to use of the thickener to increase the viscosity in the combined HSCC. In this result, it make more bubbles than HSCC of pulverulent body. The result of study has shown, through the surface air bubble by not passed air bubbles within concrete after hardening, It has bad effect in not only appearance of structures but strength & duration. It is the experiment for air bubble of concrete according to the types of aggregate (fine aggregate), mixing time of concrete, exfoliation, material of model form and so that reduce the air bubble of combined HSCC. Experiments have shown, the effect of exfoliation was bigger than the effect of form for the performance of surface finishing of combined HSCC after hardening according to the exfoliation or material of model form and the opaque guris has good condition of finishing.

  • In the modern propulsion systems, requited thrust is obtained using a nozzle. Sometimes shock and induced boundary layer separation is generated in an over-expanded convergent-divergent supersonic nozzle. It occurs because the nozzle expansion ratio is too large for a given nozzle pressure ratio (NPR). This phenomenon can be explained that it redefines effective nozzle geometry, shorer nozzle geometry and lower pressure ratio, in a given pressure ratio. Numerical studies were conducted about a fixed geometry 2D nozzle in overexpanded condition and compared with Hunter's experimental result. For the numerical simulation of the supersonic nozzle, Navier-Stokes equations are considered and as a turbulent model, $\kappa$-$\varepsilon$ /$\kappa$-$\omega$ blended SST two equation turbulent model is used. The characteristics of $\lambda$-shape shock systems due to the interaction of shock and boundary layer was investigated in a low NPR. And the result of comparison of thrust value shows that a fixed geometry nozzle can cover required flight mission.

  • This paper provides the test results of bonding behavior of the interface between concrete substrate and carbon fiber in the rehabilitation method applying carbon fiber with epoxy based resin adhesive. The difference in each components was gradually increased subjected to the repetition of temperature variation, regardless of the strength of the substrate concrete, while the ultrasonic interface between each component occurred. An increase in difference of the temperature resulted in a decrease in bond strength of each component. Associated failure mode was shown to be interfacial failure and substrate concrete failure. No remarkable changes were found in the deformation and ultrasonic velocity of each component until the four cycles of the dry and moisture test. Hence, the moisture condition may not affect the bonding behavior of each component. After the repetition of dry and moisture test, corresponding bond strength was reduced to 40% of that before test. For the effect of freeze and thaw test, the cycle of freeze and thaw within 4 cycles resulted in debonding of each component.
