A Study on Improvement for Art-related Cultural Programs in Public Libraries (공공도서관 미술 관련 문화프로그램 개선에 관한 연구)

  • This study aims to improve art-related cultural programs led by public libraries. Thus, after conducting a literature review about art-related cultural programs of public libraries and investigating art-related cultural programs of foreign public library cases, this study carried out a survey on managers and users in art-related cultural programs of Korean public libraries. These results, based on which this study proposed guidance for operation improvement art-related cultural programs of Korean public libraries while dividing them into operation factors and content factors. It is expected that the result of this study will be used to plan and operate art-related cultural programs for public libraries in the future.

  • The purpose of this study was to develop a natural object configuration items of art education programs for children and hade verify compliance. To this end, through the literature review and analysis of previous research and the Delphi investigation of natural objects art activities were developed natural objects of art education programs. The program was applied consisting of a total of 24 times periods for 12 weeks to five year olds, represented through the art skills of children and nature-friendly attitude tests were proven the effectiveness of the program. The results showed that the natural objects of art education programs for children in the study developed effective representation in art and nature-friendly attitude, the ability of young children. This study natural objects for the art education in early childhood development programs could be provided as a basis to help plan and practice the art education activities utilize the natural objects of children in early childhood education.

Art Education through Artwork: Focusing on the Mathematical Principle (미술작품을 통한 미술교육: 수학 원리를 중심으로)

  • Mathematical principle is present in artwork or architectural building. It is important for middle school students to find these mathematical principles in artwork. But it is difficult to achieve original purpose of art education through student activity that only looks for mathematical principle present in artwork and architectural building. Thus, it is necessary for students to have activities to find mathematical principle in artwork for themselves through artistic experience and appreciation of artwork and to create, appreciate and express new artwork to which they apply the mathematical principle. In this article, I researched a couple of artwork or architectural buildings from this point of view in which mathematical principle is present. I also developed hypothetical teacher activities and student activities for program by providing artwork of Escher in which mathematical principle is present as an example.

  • Learning the principles of perception belongs to both the psychology and art field. However, people define that an art education is an activity of expression, so an activity of an art appreciation is either downsized or hardly proceeded in an art class. Therefore, the art appreciation educational program that gives a motivation to appreciate the work of art and to minimize a burden towards the activity of an art appreciation is needed. This paper proposes an educational program that includes activities to appreciate the work of art using the principles of perception and to create personal portfolios. Also, we analyze the eye movement of the paintings according to the principles of perception. Finally, proposes the art appreciation education program based on Feldman's critique method. In addition, we illustrate the example of the proposed art appreciation educational program with the analyzed paintings from section III.

A Study on the Development of Art Programs for Supporting Young Children's Prosocial Behavior : Focusing on young children from Multicultural and Typical Korean Families (유아의 친사회적 행동 지원을 위한 미술 프로그램 개발 연구 : 다문화 가정 유아와 일반 유아를 대상으로)

  • This paper aims to develop the art programs supporting prosocial behaviors of young children from multicultural and typical Korean families. On the basis of the survey results and literature review, art activities were planned. And the program was executed amongst young children from multicultural and typical Korean families to test the applicability of the program. The young children in the program showed either positive attitudes or conflicts with their peer group at the beginning. As the program continued, young children were gradually harmonized, yielding to each other and were negotiating. During the last stage of the program, young children from multicultural and typical Korean families demonstrated prosocial behaviors of sharing, helping, and cooperating with each other. These kinds of results prove that the art programs are helpful in promoting prosocial behavior among young children from multicultural and typical Korean families. Therefore, it appears that an educational institute in which young children from multicultural families are taught would be able to support prosocial behavior for young children from multicultural and typical Korean families using this program.

The Effect of Group Art Therapy Program on Self-esteem and School Life Adaptation of High School Girls (집단미술치료 프로그램이 여고생의 자아존중감과 학교생활적응에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of group art therapy program on self-esteem and school life adaptation of high school girls. For this purpose, a group art therapy program was performed for 6 students of S girls' high school in S city in Chungcheongnamdo and the effects were analyzed by integrated method. The main results are as follows. First, group art therapy programs were found to positively affect the self-esteem of high school girls. Second, it showed a positive effect on school life adaptation of high school girls. However, there were some cases in which there was a significant change in self-esteem only by quantitative analysis and a change in school life adaptation only by qualitative analysis. Finally, based on this study, the policy measures to improve lowered self-esteem and low adaptation to school life of high school girls were discussed.

A Study on Early Childhood Teachers' Perceptions of ESD-Oriented Ecological Art Activities (지속가능발전교육(ESD) 지향 생태미술활동에 관한 유아교사의 인식연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the perception of early childhood teachers on ecological art activities oriented to education for sustainable development. The research results are as follows. First, Early childhood teachers recognized the visual art of natural media, the pursuit of community values, and the participation and communication of social members as educational significance of ecological art activities. And difficulties in practicing ecological art were recognized as lack of educational environment, lack of ecological art teaching materials and specific examples, and teachers' lack of understanding of ecological art. Also, they recognized that ecological art activities foster core competencies in art experience area, such as nature-friendly communication skills, eco-friendly sensibility, and creative convergence skills. Second, regarding ecological art activities and sustainable development education, early childhood teachers considered the difficulties in practice as lack of awareness about sustainable development, lack of play meia and materials, lack of educational policies and support, and insufficient teacher training programs. Also, regarding the SDGs that can be practiced in ecological art activities, teachers were found to be highly aware of 'grow affordable and clean energy', 'improve clean water and sanitation', 'provide quality education' in the order. In the contents of education for sustainable development that can be practiced in ecological art activities, teachers are given the order of 'climate change response', 'clean energy', 'water and sanitation', 'quality education', 'health and well-being' and 'marine ecosystem'. was highly recognized. If an ecological art activity program is developed, the rate of responding that it will be used is high, so it is considered that the development of an ESD-oriented ecological art activity program is urgent.

A Case Study of an Art Therapy-Based Social Skills Training Program for a Child with ADHD (미술치료를 활용한 사회기술훈련 프로그램의 적용 : ADHD 아동의 단일 사례연구)

  • The study examined how a specialized program combining art therapy and social skills training can reduce core ADHD symptoms in a child. This case study focused on a first-grade male student diagnosed with ADHD and involved 12 weekly sessions, each lasting 60 minutes, conducted at a counseling center in Seoul. The study's effectiveness was measured through pre- and post-assessments using the scales for inattention and hyperactivity-impulsivity, and the process of change was analyzed qualitatively. The results indicated a decrease in attention deficit and noticeable improvements in hyperactivity and impulsivity following the intervention. These findings suggest that integrating art therapy with social skills training is an effective approach for alleviating primary ADHD symptoms, providing a promising strategy for treating children with ADHD.

Picture Book and Famous Paintings Art Programs : Effect on Young Children's Artistic Appreciation and Artistic Expression (그림책과 명화를 활용한 미술프로그램이 유아의 미술 감상능력과 미술 표현능력에 미치는 영향)

  • This study of the effectiveness of various art programs took place in Gwangju with asample of 60 four- to five-year-old children from three kindergartens. The children were assigned to one of three experimental groups : 20 children in the picture book group(experimental group 1), 20 children in the famous paintings group(experimental group 2), and 20 children in the traditional group(control group). Data were analyzed by ANCOVA using the scores of the pre-test as covariance. Results showed that the picture book and the famous painting art programs affected young children's art ability more positively than the traditional art program. The picture book art program showed particularly high educational effectiveness.
