Basic Research for Introduction Plan of Building Dismantlement (건축물 분별해체 제도 도입을 위한 기초연구)

  • This study was conducted basic research for introduction plan of building dismantlement to reduce construction waste fundamentally and efficiently. The current domestic and overseas legislations relation with dismantlement were compared. In addition, the difference of construction waste treatment and pure demolition cost that were applied to dismantlement and general deconstruction method in building were compared. The total cost that was estimated to apply dismantlement in building was higher about 6% than that of general deconstruction.

  • Concrete produced from the construction wastes has been largely used as the recycled aggregate. These wastes, however, is mostly used as filling materials. For any recycled aggregate like waste concrete to be used as normal construction materials, it is necessary to actively find out the proper market places as much as possible with the improved quality. In this study, we have investigated the present status on the occurrence and treatment of both domestic and abroad construction wastes, and also the recycling status and related legislation with some inhibitory factors. Based on these investigations, we suggested some effective ways to increase the recycling of construction wastes.

Feasibility Evaluation of Co-Incineration with MSW for Efficient Recycling of the Rejects after Separation Processes in MRF (재활용 기반시설에서 발생하는 선별 잔재물의 자원화를 위한 도시생활폐기물과의 혼합소각 가능성 평가)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the possibility of an alternative fuel resource by incinerating a mix of combustible MSW (municipal solid waste) and offals after separating recyclable material at the MRF (material recovery facilities) location. We analyzed the physical and chemical properties including the 3-contents, the calorific value, and chemical compositions of the separation rejects in MRF, and compared the results with combustible MSW. Moreover, we experimented the trend of combustible properties and the concentration change of air pollutants at mixed incineration in the MSW incinerator. According to the results of the experiment, the separation rejects showed higher heating value (5,865 kcal/kg), and lower moisture and ash content than combustible MSW. Since we have incinerated MSW in the MSW incinerator mixing the offals at 30% and 50% respectively, we know that the change of the concentration of dust, $SO_2$, $NO_2$, and CO did not appear significant, and not exceed the pollutants emission regulation. But, considering the enhancement of the HCl emission concentration (max. 33.7 ppm) at the co-incineration of the 50% offals, we believe that the proper mixing ratio of the separation rejects would become within 30%.

Environmental analysis on Waste Catalyst Recycling Technology using Life Cycle Assessment (전과정평가를 통한 폐촉매 재활용 기술의 환경성 분석)

  • This study aims to analysis the environmental impact on waste catalyst recycling technology using entire life cycle assessment. Environmental impacts consist of the five categories of impacts: global warming, resource depletion, acidification, eutrophication, and photochemical oxide production. The waste catalyst recycling presently have a GWP 3.53 ton $CO_2$ equivalent/ton, a ADP 0.017 ton Sb equivalent/ton, a AP 0.051 $SO_2$ equivalent/ton, a EP 0.0092 $PO{_4}^{3-}$ equivalent/ton, a 0.0019 ton $C_2H_4$ equivalent/ton. The smelting reduction process is the greatest contributor to all categories of environmental impacts in waste catalyst recycling. Electricity used in the smelting reduction process is the major contributor of all impact categories.

A Study on Monitoring System Architecture for Calculation of Practical Recycling Rate of End of Life Vehicle (폐자동차의 실질적 재활용률 산정을 위한 모니터링 체계에 관한 연구)

  • The end-of-life vehicles (ELV) are important recycling sources, and there are several stages involved in the recycling such as dismantling, shredding, and treatment of shredder residues (ASR). The legal recycling rate should be at least 95% on and after 2015, while we need a proper system to monitor recycling of ELV components and to calculate the practical recycling rate. The paper suggests a monitoring system that calculates practical recycling rates of dismantled components by use of a database of standard recycling rate as well as a web-based monitoring, which is linked to the Eco Assurance system for electric & electronic equipment and vehicle (EcoAS). Also the system supports dismantling and monitoring process by incorporating a standard vehicular component database, which facilitates recording dismantled weight data but also monitoring of dismantled components.

  • 소프트웨어 획득부서에서는 정보체계획득 및 개발표준화를 위해 아키텍처 프레임워크와 CBD 방법론을 개발하여 정보체계의 상호운용성과 재사용성 확대를 통해 효율적인 통합 및 표준화 관리가 이루어지도록 하고 있다. 그러나 AF와 CBD 방법론간의 산출물 상호관계에 관한 명확한 가이드라인과 활용방안이 없는 실정이다. 이로 인해 산출물 중복작성 등으로 불필요한 개발기간 연장과 비용 중복 등 비효율적인 업무수행이 이루어지고 있다. 본 논문에서는 두 절차에서 요구산출물들의 연관관계 및 중복성을 분석하여 CBD 프로세스에 따라 AF 산출물의 재활용 방안을 제시해 봄으로써 산출물의 작성 부담을 경감시키고 내용에 충실하게 작성하도록 하여 산출물의 품질 및 재사용성을 높여 효율적인 정보체계를 구축하는데 도움이 되고자 한다.

  • A topic of particular interest for biotech researchers are handling of human tissue specimens that may be used for present, or stored for future, research purposes. This article examines the ethical and legal legitimacy of using human materials for research purposes with special attention to the issues of informed consent and confidentiality. The purpose of this paper is moral and for law legitimacy exploring of the utilization of the human material without donator's consent. It is a known fact that future medical care should be exchanged a paradigm by preventive health care through a human meterial research. The developed country have established a biobank for a human meterial research and supported a researcher. Korea is the same, too. When it is done a defect, as for the thing researcher derived from the Korean human meterial research. The written consent of the donator can keep a human meterial research origin thing, but cannot use it now. I will justify morally and for law that researcher can use the human material without written consent. We can change the concept of recycling of human material. It is not mean only burning that recycling of human materials for research.

  • 섬유 공정의 특성상 산업적으로 배출되는 상당한 양의 폐수는 피할 수 없는 현실이며, 폐수에는 dyes, sizing agents, electrolytes, soaps, fat, oils, proteins 등 여러 혼합물질을 포함하여 이들은 각각 오염원으로 작용하게 된다. 따라서 이러한 폐수의 처리에 드는 비용도 나날이 증가하고 있는 추세이다. 근래에 들어서는 상당한 비용을 감수하더라도 물의 재활용을 위해 이들 오염원을 제거하거나 물의 재활용 방법을 개발하고 있으며 실질적으로 도입되어 실용화되고 있는 실정이다. (중략)
