Development of FRP Recycling Process for Regenerating Applications of Fire Resistance Performance of High Strength Concrete (고강도 콘크리트의 내화성능 용도에 따른 FRP재활용 공정 개발)

  • In the last decade, increasing national research fund for recycling the waste FRP (fiber reinforced plastics) ships which has caused environmental problems, improves the technology making concrete-reinforcing fibers out of the waste FRP. Furthermore, the concrete with recycled FRP fiber was tested for the structural performance. Experimental strength tests show that use of recycled FRP powder does not reduce the compressive strength of high strength concrete, and does increase the fire resistance performance of high strength concrete significantly. But, the study in investigating the properties of recycled fiber powder from waste FRP has not been completed because of the absence of the method of separation of mat layer from the waste FRP. This study is to propose a new extracting method of the mat layer from waste FRP, which is the efficient and environment friendly system. and thus it is considered to be the useful recycling method for fire resistance high concrete products or structures.

Recycling of Carbon Particle from Phenol Resin Waste using Supercritical Fluid (초임계 유체를 이용한 폐페놀수지로부터 카본입자 재활용 연구)

  • In this study, we investigated a new recycling method of phenol resin, which is widely used to make electric insulation boards and adhesives, into carbon particles by using supercritical fluids. Because phenol resin is insoluble and infusible, most of the phenol resin wastes are buried in the ground or incinerated, which leads to environmental pollution. Therefore, development of a new method to recycle phenol resin waste is an urgent issue. In this study, phenol resin waste was treated with four sub/supercritical solvents: ethanol, acetone, water, and methanol. For all the sub/supercritical solvents, the phenol resin wastes were broken down into carbon nano particles at much lower temperatures than that required in the existing carbon particle manufacturing processes. We investigated the difference of morphologies and physical properties of recycled carbon particles according to the use of various solvents. As a result, carbon nano particles with the same amorphous structure were obtained from phenol resin waste with the usage of various sub/supercritical solvents at much lower temperature.

  • The annual requirement of domestic waste photoresist stripper solution is about 1 trillion won level (50,000 tons) depends entirely on imports for its supplies. Nevertheless, there waste strippers which contain the impurities have been recycled or incinerated to a low level of recycle. These days the recycling technologies of the waste stripper solution has been widely studied from the view points of economy and efficiency. In this paper, the recycling technologies on patent of the waste stripper solution were analyzed. The range of search was limited within the open patents of USA (US), European Union (EP), Japan (JP), and Korea (KR) up to september, 2007. Patents have been collected using key-words searching and filtered by filtering criteria. The trends of the patents was analyzed by the years, countries, companies, and technologies.

Analysis of the Applicability of Ground Stabilizer Using Recycled Resources as Prebored Piles (매입말뚝 주면고정액으로 순환자원을 재활용한 지반안정재의 활용 가능성 분석)

  • In this study, tests were performed to analyze the feasibility of using the ground stabilizer from recycled resources such as blast furnace slag powder as filling material of prebored piles. For this, specimens were prepared by applying 70% and 83% of the general water/binder ratio of the filling material of prebored piles. And compression test, model test, and shaking table test were performed to determine the compressive strength, skin friction on the surface between prebored pile and filling material, and seismic performance of ground stabilizer. As a result of the tests, the compressive strength exceeded the relevant domestic standards, and the skin friction was equivalent to that of ordinary portland cement. In addition, the amount of vertical and horizontal displacement caused by earthquakes was found to be much smaller than the domestic standard. Therefore, when considering the test results comprehensively, it is judged that the feasibility of using a ground stabilizer from recycled resources as filling material for prebored pile is sufficient.

  • 우리나라는 도시의 집중화 현상이 점차 심화되고 있으며, 기후변화에 따른 기상 수문학적 영향으로 인해 집중호우, 홍수 등 수재해 증가, 가뭄으로 인한 물 부족 및 물 자급율 저하로 도시의 수원 다원화 및 재활용에 대한 관심이 증가하고 있다. 최근들어 이러한 문제점을 인식하고 각 지자체 별 도시의 건전한 물순환을 회복시키기 위한 노력이 이루어지고 있다. 서울시는 서울특별시 빗물관리 기본계획을 수립하였으며, 수원시는 2013년부터 레인시티를 본격적으로 도입하였고, 환경부는 5곳의 물순환 선도도시를 공모하여 선정하였다. 또한 한국토지주택공사에서는 LID 분산형 빗물관리 기준을 수립하여 지구단위계획지침에 토지이용별 빗물관리 기준을 명시 하였으며, K-water는 에코델타시티와 송산그린시티 개발사업을 수행하면서 도시개발부터 건전한 물순환체계를 유지하기 위하여 저영향개발 기법을 적극 활용하기 위한 연구를 수행하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 수변도시 및 물순환 도시에 대하여 소개하고 수변도시, 물순환도시를 정의할 수 있는 여러 방향에 대한 고려사항을 제시하여 물순환 도시에서 검토되어야 할 사항을 확인하고자 하였다.

  • Nowadays it is tendency to make a remodelling or demolition of old structures with the rapid development of blasting technique. In this treatise it is arranged of improvement procedure of blasting demolition method in korea which was begun since August 1991. Recently, the blasting demolition method has much merits with 60-70% reduction effect of construction period than mechanical demolition method. and so that it has much economical points specially over than 5 storied high buildings. In order to maximalize economical effects of the blasting demolition method, environment safety and recycling, it must be needed. at first to develop the estimating programs against vibration, noise, flying stones, and dust. Also it is required to take a responsibility for using recycling materials after blasting demolition of old structures, and to be invested to advance the blasting demolition techniques.

A Case Study on CO2 Uptake of Concrete owing to Carbonation (콘크리트 탄산화에 의한 CO2 포집량 평가의 사례연구)

  • The present study assessed the amount of $CO_2$ uptake owing to concrete carbonation through a case study for an apartment building with a principal wall system and an office building with Rahmen system under different exposed environments during use phase and recycling application. The $CO_2$ uptake assessment owing to concrete carbonation followed the procedure established by Yang et al. As input data necessary for the case study, actual surveys conducted in 2012 in Korea, which included data about the climate environments, $CO_2$ concentration, lifecycle inventory database, life expectancy of structures, and recycling activity scenario, were used. From the comparisons with the $CO_2$ emissions from concrete production, the $CO_2$ uptake during the lifetime of structures was estimated to be 5.5~5.7% and that during recycling activity after demolition was 10~12%; as a result, the amount of $CO_2$ uptake owing to concrete carbonation can be estimated to be 15.5~17% of the $CO_2$ emissions from concrete production, which roughly corresponds to 18-21% of the $CO_2$emissions from cement production as well.

  • 폐기물 소각시 발생되는 각종 유해가스 및 비산회재(fly ash)는 후처리 설비에 의해 배출허용기준치 이하로 처리된 후 대기 중으로 방출되도록 환경 규제되고 있다. 그러나 포집된 비산회재(fly ash) 및 노하부 배출재(bottom ash) 내에는 미 연소된 상태로 배출된 유해성 유기물질(다이옥신, 퓨란류 등)과 중금속 성분이 함유되어 있어 이들 소각잔류물(incineration residues)을 안정화나 무해화 처리 없이 단순 매립할 경우 강우에 의해 소각잔류물 내의 유해성분이 침출됨에 따라 토양이나 지하수 등에 2차 환경오염을 일으키게 된다.   • 중수도란 한번 사용한 물을 어떤 형태로든 한번 혹은 반복적으로 사용하는 물을 말하며 수도법 제3조에서는 사용한 수돗물을 생활용수, 공업용수 등으로 재활용 할 수 있도록 다시 처리한물을 중수라고 하며 이의 처리시설, 급배수시설, 이용 설비 등을 총체적으로 중수도라고 한다. 국내에서 중수도 시스템을 적용한 최초의 공동주택으로는 '93년 9월에 준공된 산본주공아파트(3개동 415세대)가 최초이며, '94년 1월 현대산업개발에서 군산나운아파트 1개동에 설치한 것이 전부이며 현재는 시설을 운영하지 못하고 있는 실정이다.
