Application of digital photogrammetry for 3D embodiment of tumulus (봉분(封墳)의 3D구현을 위한 수치사진측량의 적용)

  • 우수한 문화유산을 보유하고 있는 우리나라는 그간 전쟁과 관리소홀로 인하여 많이 파괴되고 유실되는 피해를 입어왔다. 한번 손실된 문화재는 기존 자료 없이는 완전복구가 어려운 실정이며, 이러한 문화재의 복원을 위해 그 모습을 수치화시켜 영구 보전함으로써 그 활용가치를 높일 수 있다. 또한, 문화재의 복원 전·후의 모습을 체계적으로 정리하기 위해서 문화재의 3차원 구현을 통한 자료의 전산화 작업이 필요하다. 따라서, 본 연구에서는 수치사진측량용 카메라를 이용하여 봉분을 촬영하고, 이렇게 취득 데이터를 사용하여 3차원형상을 수치화 하여 복원 이전의 발굴상태를 영구히 보존함과 동시에 발굴된 유적을 기초로 하여 복원시킨 봉분의 형상을 추측하기는 자료로도 활용할 수 있다. 이러한 복원 작업을 효율적이고, 신속하게 분석하여 재현함으로써 문화재의 유지관리·복원을 위한 기초 자료기반을 구축함에 그 목적이 있다.

  • 본 논문은 2차원적인 문화재 이미지를 모델링 하여, 대한민국의 시대 별 탑의 차이점과 특징을 분석하고 인공지능을 이용한 3D 복원과 구현을 위한 연구이다. 오늘날 현대 사회에서 디지털 매체 및 정보화 시대에서 여러 산업 분야에 적용이 되고 있다. 기존 2D 이미지를 벗어나 문화재의 모습을 다양한 각도에서 쉽게 관찰해 볼 수 있도록 하여, 3D 형태의 복원이 적합하여 연구를 진행하였다. 최근 인공지능 및 기술의 발달로 문화재 정보를 바탕으로 한 3차원 기술을 사용하여 다양한 데이터들과 프로그램을 이용한 모델링이 가능하다. 현재 문화재 복원은 다양한 자료와 전문가의 기술 및 역사적인 기록물 자료에 의존해 복구한다. 이러한 기법의 문화재 복원은 기록에 남길 수 있는 정보 수집의 효율적인 방법이 될 수 있다. 본 연구는 우리나라의 시대별 탑의 특징을 보여주며, 복원이 실제적이고도 구체적인 다각도의 방향에서 더 정밀하고 정확하게 도출하는데 기여할 것으로 기대된다.

  • Nowadays, the progress of high technology in modern society provides humankind with the opportunity to obtain diverse information easily and quickly. Among those rapidly progressing fields of high technology, digital media field has the ability to substitute for the multimedia information society by being applied to many related fields and daily life. Specifically, the concern and enthusiasm for the restoration of cultural property has risen. So, effective methods are required to decide on the preservation, restoration and academic value of cultural property. Among these, image processing technology using computers has been introduced. The restoration of cultural property using this technique has been studied vigorously in many advanced countries because this would allow us to restore damaged parts without destroying the original asset. However, in Korea, though we have numerous examples of cultural property with recorded history, research related to the items has scarcely been conducted. Accordingly, this study focuses on the investigation of virtual reality and the techniques applicable to restoring cultural property in addition to suggesting the significance and possibility of digitally restoring cultural property following the introduction of applicable examples both domestically and abroad.

  • Today, computer graphics have moved into spotlight within many related fields. The use of computer graphics in many fields as well as in design is now universalized. More than ever, those fields which utilize virtual reality are being vigorously researched and are rapidly progressing. Many advanced countries are obtaining positive results, allowing the world to learn about their culture and history by using virtual reality techniques for the restoration of cultural property. Above all, the West has utilized the diversity of the CAVE system which could best express the artificial system among virtual reality systems. However, in Korea this technology remains in its early stages of development. Moreover, the field, digital restoration of cultural property, which will be discussed in this study, hasn't yet been explored. Accordingly, this study presents the way of digitally restoring cultural property based on the CAVE through the empirical research and suggests the significance and possibility of digitally restoring cultural properly in the CAVE system. For them, this study processes the digitally restoring of Pulguksa Temple and Sokkuram and refers to the limitation and the future study following the investigation of CAVE and the introduction of applicable examples in abroad.

  • The descendants have a responsibility to conserve their cultural treasure and hand it down to posterity. Most of existing wooden properties, affected by environmental factors for many years, have been rebuilt or repaired many times. Kwandeogjeong, Cultural Properties Materials 322, has gone through rebuilding or repairing 11 times. It was natural that Kwandeogjeong lost its originality and attempt to restore it was made by Cultural Heritage Administration of Korea. But the restoration depends on a piece of picture, which was taken before 1900. It had been impossible to draw any data from the picture for restoration. In this study, I was able to obtain data for its restoration through geometrical analysis, using the vanishing point of the picture. These data were also used as preliminary data for its restoration.

Study on the Urethane Restoration Filling Material and Adhesive for Stone Cultural Heritage (석조문화재 복원용 우레탄 메움제 및 접착제에 관한 연구)

  • A Urethane resin restoration material was made to be used in the restoration of stone cultural assets. The Urethane resin restoration material showed strong adhesive strength and tensile strength similar to epoxy recovery material, which had been mainly used for the recovery of stone cultural assets. The sealing property, anti-shrinking property and paint-ability of Urethane resin restoration material are also similar to existing epoxy system restoration materials. Especially, this Urethane resin restration material is expected to give permanence and continuous stability in the restoration of cultural assets made in stone by resolving the two big issues of existing epoxy recovery material, which are 'yellowing' and 'ir-reversibility'. This Urethane resin restration material had been directly applied as a filling material and adhesive and it was dissolved again. The Urethane resin, which had been used for the recovery, was able to be perfectly removed, which means that this Urethane resin recovery material has perfect reversibility. This Urethane resin restoration material also has enhanced convenience since user can adjust the working-life dependent on work environment. It is believed that this Urethane resin restoration material can also be used as a filling material or adhesive for other cultural assets made of ceramic or metal heritage, in addition to stone, since it has strong adhesive strength and tensile strength.

  • Recently, digitizing technologies for conservation and restoration of tangible intangible cultural properties are coming into spotlight. Because cultural properties are easy to be lost and damaged over the years, After construction of cultural assets database we can reconstruct the cultural asset making use of the reverse engineering when needed, and implement digital contents such as computer graphics, 3D virtural realization, hologram, etc. So in this paper, we scrutinize visual and technical factors occurring in different types of digital restoration of cultural properties, and present problems and improvements, and try to research technological prowess and visual mechanism.
