Unifying Metatheory of Clothing and Textile(1987)이 적용되었다.

  • The Korean $taeg{\breve{u}}m$, a horizontal bamboo flute, is considered a representative wind instrument of Korean traditional music. Symbolized by its unique timbre and diverse techniques, this instrument transmits the beauty of Korea, and has become acknowledged even in international music scenes. Being a $taeg{\breve{u}}m$ player, composer, and ethnomusicology researcher, I have developed creative collaborations with musicians from Asian, electro-acoustic, jazz, and Western art music traditions developed outside my country of origin and tried to overcome musical boundaries through the 'intercultural performances' (after Turner 1988). Zooming in one collaboration, I detail the process of music creation and performance, collaborating with prominent Korean composer Kim $Taes{\breve{o}}ng$ (b.1967), who was commissioned by myself to write two compositions for the $taeg{\breve{u}}m$ and Western art music. The purpose is twofold: firstly, the modernization and appropriation of the Korean flute is briefly tracked down within the context of Western Art music. Secondly, a performance project is illustrated with the support of technical apparatuses such as DVD and CD recordings and delves further into the question of the 'cultural relativism' (Michael Tenzer, 2006: 7) through the interactive process. The performance-as-research, as a tool 'actualizing' (Richard Schechner 2003: 32) the hybridity, touches on critical domains in Ethnomusicology. The corresponding two parts discover, as Alan Merriam's(1964) 'tripartite model' suggests, the 'context' of Korean and Western cultures, the 'behaviour' of collaborating and performing and the 'sound' of improvised and composed productions in the course of music making.

  • The paleogenetic analysis has become an increasingly important subject of archaeological, anthropological, biological as well as public interest. Recently, scientific research for human skeletal remains was more activated because of increasing awareness of the valuable archaeological information by the ancient DNA analysis. State of preservation of organic remains vary in different soil and burying environmental condition. Almost all available tissue disappear to analysis ancient DNA of bone in acidic soil caused by climate and geological features in Korea. Many preserved human remains excavated in the 'Heogwakmyo'(limelayered tomb of Chosun Dynasty Period) is able to explain through the relationship between burial conditions and bone survival form the burial method and ceremony. Ancient DNA analysis of excavated human bone form ancient tomb requires to remove contaminants such as microorganism's DNA and soil components that affect authentic results. Particularly, contamination control of contemporary human DNA is major serious problem and should verified by criteria of authenticity. In order to understand migration and culture of ancient population, when possible, ancient DNA studies needs to go abreast both radiocarbon and stable isotope studies because the dietary inferences will suggest ancient subsistence and settlement patterns. Also when the paleogenetic research supported with the arts and humanities research such as physical anthropology and archaeology, more valuable ancient genetic information is providing a unique results about evolutionary and population genetics studies to reconstruct the past.

  • This essay would focus on a kinds of new archival strategy. The main frame has been the kinds of activities regulated by laws, or formal activities since 1999. In the case of presidential archives has no another frame. There had never kinds of presidential archives system until President Noh, if anything. It means that the frame has some important points. Although it is, we have to say about the limits of the frame. This essay show 'metaphor frame' for archival system. I think that we have to guess there are methodologies below the two frames. One is quantitative study methodology, and another is qualitative research methodology. The later focuses on the experiences for making narratives. We have to know that this methodology is out of fashioned in the field of history department and cultural anthropology department for the purpose of alternative studies. This essay says about 'archival field description' and 'narrative records' for the new records in archival field. I have to say about that we needs to discuss about kinds of new archival discours. And to conclude, we should manage the records in culture.

In the field of critical medical anthropology, the practice of health care programs explains that socio-cultural and political and economic factors can be the main variables besides the primary purpose of preventing and eradicating the disease. In the same vein, this study also analyzed how community-based health programs operate by various external factors. As a result, the Minga Ambiental program is a health program called Dengue Fever, which has been tended to be sustained and expanded by various actors, including politicians and corporations in countries and communities, despite concerns about effectiveness. In this case, this study found that health programs can be operated by political and economic relations different from their original purpose, and are intertwined in various social contexts by various actors in constructing health programs.

  • In this study, I examine what is called character. It is to establish what constitutes a relationship between life, culture, and education. In addition, I try to explore the possibility of anthropology of education as an academic basis for character education by using the way of '문 질빈빈(文質彬彬)'. As a result of the study, 'character' in terms of '문(culturality)' aspect implies the qualities, the nature, the disposition, and the meaning of virtue. A 'character education' can be seen in school education as a moral consideration, considering the social context, such as the ability to live harmoniously. In terms of '질(naturality)', I will look at both the innate aspect of the character and the acquired aspect through the 'character' which is the essence of character. Character is the concept of both parties, and if it is influenced by an external environment, one can seek better ways to improve the chances of improvement through education. Furthermore, the role of education is inevitably required in order to achieve the goal of 'lesser human being' to 'better human being'. Home and school education can have a positive impact on the character. An honest mind about humanity among family members is the right character. The importance of humanity is considered as a value to be recognized and protected in our society because the logic that it protects the family by character and helps to maintain the social order influences to the legal culture tradition of the modern. Therefore, the academic approach through anthropology of education has sufficient value of trial study for exploring the relationship between character, education, and culture for teachers and learners, and is appropriate for providing an academic foundation.
