  • Basuki Tjahaja Purnama, Jakarta's Ex-Governor, lost his re-election bid in 2017 and then was jailed on a charge of blasphemy. After his defeat, the rhetorics of Indonesian politics was divided into two opposing sides: anti-Communism and 'pribumi' of the radical Islamic movements and Pancasila of the Jokowi administration. Although Islamic political parties are now preoccupied with their own coalitional politics and survivals, rather than solidarity of Islamic forces, the rising Islamic sentiments confirmed by the Jakarta election indicate that religion will continue to be a key variable in Indonesian politics. Meanwhile, ex-military generals who declared themselves as candidates in the 2018 regional election and the 2019 presidential election, as well as a few measures used by the Jokowi administration against extra-parliamentary political opponents, remind us of Suharto's New Order. Steady growth continues in economy. The raise of minimum wage enlarged middle classes and led to a decline of the poverty rate. Jokowi's commitment to building infrastructure has made tangible achievements. Under these circumstances, enhanced cooperation between Indonesia and South Korea is laudable, though any such cooperation must fully incorporate local sociocultural contexts, such as the strengthened halal certification system.

  • This study tried to establish a system of service paradigm by re-examining the Korean play culture through the people who play in the era of King Jeongjo and revealing the integration of modern service culture. The results of this study are as follows. First, King Jeongjo inspired the autonomy and creativity of the participants through the patronage of Changdeokgung Palace and led the renaissance era of Joseon as a creative play. The creative play of the service industry is reborn as a place of innovation that realizes development through a communicative intellectual network. Second, the 60th birthday Jin Chan-yeon and the aesthetics of slowness that evoke artistic play are the language of innovation that transcends language and culture. Artistic play becomes a channel of communication to share happiness with people around the world based on absolute beauty and aesthetic sensibility. Third, Jeongjo was a humanist in Joseon. This humanistic ideology leads to humanistic religion. K-service, which uses religious play as a medium, has a turning point towards healing and happiness as all participants in the service experience sacredness. There is an implication in that it pioneered a service culture by presenting a new paradigm by combining play and service, and laid the groundwork for building a unique area in global business.

  • This study investigated the effects of corporate entrepreneurship awareness on organizational effectiveness using a case study of a domestic public institution-something that had not been done before. The main purpose of this study was to examine the correlation between corporate entrepreneurship and the personal entrepreneurship of each organization member. Specifically, we studied the effects of four aspects of corporate entrepreneurship-innovation, risk sensitivity, goal orientation, and autonomy-on the effectiveness of the organization with regard to personal entrepreneurship, defined by creativity, job satisfaction, and organizational commitment, in a public institution. We examined the mediating role of the facets of private entrepreneurship-innovation, risk sensitivity, and goal orientation-on the effectiveness of organizations. In addition, we examined the correlation between the recognition of an organization and individual innovation, creativity, and entrepreneurship in domestic public institutions. We found that corporate entrepreneurship significantly influences organizational effectiveness. We also found that private entrepreneurship has partially influenced organizational effectiveness. This result indicates that specifically personal entrepreneurship in a public organization with a corporate structure contributes in part to organizational effectiveness. Therefore, the efforts made for disruptive innovation and the innovative strategies of corporates with personal entrepreneurship should be kept up for the long haul in order to influence the achievements of organizations in the public sector significantly. The need of the hour is for public institutions to disseminate and extend entrepreneurship at the national level. Furthermore, studies on corporate entrepreneurship in different fields in organizations in the public domain are needed.

This study empirically analyzed the effect of CEO competence, corporate orientation, and management performance of small and medium-sized mid-sized business managers on each other. In the study, a hypothesis was established between eight variables. In addition, the relationship between corporate orientation and CEO competency, which has not been studied, was also identified. Set personal effectiveness, willingness to innovate, opportunity recognition, information perception, relationship formation, business management, leadership, organizational culture, and human resource management as measures of CEO competency. After defining the operation in accordance with this study, the analysis was conducted. As a result of the analysis, corporate orientation did not produce a meaningful result in management performance. And CEO competency showed a positive (+) effect on management performance. It can be judged that the CEO variable, a management variable, had a positive effect on management performance. Also, there was a significant result in the relationship between corporate orientation and CEO competency. Innovativeness, initiative, and risk-taking have positive implications for CEO competency. Lastly, corporate orientation showed statistically significant results on management performance through the mediation of CEO competency. • This study examined the effects of entrepreneurship and perception of entrepreneurial environment on business performance. In particular, this study analyzed the difference in the effect of each independent variable on the dependent variable by using the government's participation in the start-up support project as a moderate variable. In order to achieve the purpose of this study, the researcher drew the variables corresponding to entrepreneurship and the variables related to entrepreneurship awareness. Innovativeness and risk sensitivity were selected as variables for entrepreneurship, and market environment and product environment were selected as variables for perception of entrepreneurial environment. Based on the above variables the research model was completed including the degree of participation in the government's start-up support project as a moderating variable. The data for the empirical analysis were collected from start-up companies in Daegu in 2018. A total of 601 questionnaires were collected and 399 copies of the data were used in this study after removing the unfaithful answers. The results of the analysis showed that innovation had a negative effect on management performance, and risk sensitivity, market environment, and product environment had a positive effect on management performance. In terms of the moderating effect, in the case of innovation, the higher the participation in government support projects, the lesser the negative effect. Risk sensitivity and product environment showed a strong impact on companies with a lot of government support projects, and the market environment had a strong impact on those who participated less. This study confirmed the importance and necessity of entrepreneurship and perception of entrepreneurial environment that influence the management performance of entrepreneurs. It is also meaningful in that it deals with the practical effects of the government's start-up support project on the start-up performance.
