Preliminary Study on Soft Keyboard with Recommendation for Mobile Device (모바일 단말기를 위한 추천 소프트 키보드)

  • Recently most mobile devices have soft keyboards on their LCD touch screens. Because of the tiny size of the touch screen of the soft keyboard, adjacent keys are mistakenly typed. Also utilizing a key for multiple key inputs causes key type errors. In this paper, we proposed an algorithm to recommend proper words to the user while the user continues to type keys, which helps to easily correct key type errors. In addition, we presented a soft keyboard called MissLess which implemented the recommendation algorithm. We evaluated recommendation performance of MissLess keyboard through experiments by using 3 test sets. The test results showed that the success ratio of recommendation reached up to about 90% although there were some differences between results. However it is needed to be considered that we recommended 4 words for an input word in this experiments.

  • PC 또는 모바일 기기를 이용한 검색을 위해서는 키보드 또는 터치패드를 이용하여 키워드를 입력하는 고전적인 방식이 현재까지 널리 사용되고 있다. 음성, 이미지, 제스처 등을 이용한 새로운 검색 기술들이 등장하고 있지만, 관련 검색엔진의 문제로 검색 결과가 다소 미흡한 상태이다. 본 논문에서는 기존의 포털 검색의 키워드 입력 방식과는 달리, 검색하고자 하는 대상을 스마트폰과 같은 모바일 기기의 카메라로 촬영하면 해당 촬영 이미지가 사용자 입장에서는 검색 키워드와 같이 동일한 역할을 할 수 있도록 CNN기법을 사용하여 Image-to-Text 형태의 모바일 비주얼 검색 서비스에 대해 제안한다.

One Grip based Doorpull Shaped Doorlock System using Fingerprint Recognition and Touch Pattern (지문 인식과 터치 패턴을 이용한 원그립 기반 문고리 통합형 도어록 시스템)

  • Recently, digital doorlock systems have been employing biometric recognition and smartphone as personal authentification means. The performance of a digital doorlock system is determined by the two conflicting indices such as security and convenience. This paper proposes and implements one grip based doorpull shaped doorlock systems using fingerprint and touch sensor grip pattern. The proposed system sequentially performs fingerprint recognition and grip pattern identification when a user grips the doorpull in order to open the door. This method so called 'One Grip' is considered to enhance security while maintaining users' convenience. We expect the proposed method can solve the phone missing problem encountered in developing smart doorlock systems based on smartphones.

  • NUI(Natural User Interfaces) has been developed through CLI(Command Line Interfaces) and GUI(Graphical User Interfaces). NUI uses many different input modalities, including multi-touch, motion tracking, voice and stylus. In order to adopt NUI to legacy GUI applications, he/she must add device libraries, modify relevant source code and debug it. In this paper, we propose a gesture-based interface model that can be applied without modification of the existing event-based GUI applications and also present the XML schema for the specification of the model proposed. This paper shows a method of using the proposed model through a prototype.

  • 최근 급속도로 보급되고 있는 스마트폰은 큰 화면과 터치 기능은 물론 GPS를 포함한 다양한 센서와 표현기능이 포함되어 있다. 이 연구에서는 대부분의 스마트폰이 제공하고 있는 풍부한 표현성능을 최대한 활용하여 작가의 의도가 독자에게 최대한 전달될 수 있는 디지털 만화 감성 뷰어와 그 저작도구에 대하여 연구하고 구현하였다. 스마트폰에 탑재된 뷰어에서 독자는 각 Cut의 장면 전환 효과, 진동, 사운드 효과 등을 통하여 효과적인 디지털 만화읽기를 할 수 있도록 하였다. 또한 이러한 기능들을 컴퓨터 비전문가인 만화저작자들이 쉽게 적용할 수 있는 저작도구를 구현하였다. 저작도구는 이러한 감성표현 기능 외에도 화면전환 효과와 씬플로우(scene-flow)도 작가의 의도대로 적용할 수 있도록 하였다. 뷰어는 Apple, Android, Windows Mobile과 Symbian 운영체제에 대해 개발하였으며, 저작도구는 Windows XP 환경에서 개발하였다. 이 연구에서 개발된 뷰어와 저작도구가 상용화되면 현재 일본제품이 독점하고 있는 국내 이동통신의 디지털 만화 시장에 적용될 것이며, 디지털 만화의 앱스토어로 발전될 수 있을 것이다.

  • Nowadays, the various kind of software packages that support content creation consumed in touch-type terminals as an application have come into the market. These softwares have a different style of user task compare to existing user task. The reason why difference style has been appeared for now is because interaction timing has a important role of both content creation and consumption. For this reason, in this paper, we propose a software UI design framework for content creation using MB-UID and UCD model based on task modeling. The proposed framework is made up of five steps: business rule model, creation role model, creation flow model, creation action model, presentation model. Through this framework, we handle the interaction between a content creator and software user interface at the content creation phase. At the same time, we consider a possible interaction type which can occur by consumers at the consumption phase in advance.

  • In this paper, we describe about interactive electronic book utilizing tabletop display interface and digi-pet. Because of this system can define a lot of gestures using touch point of finger, help that user experiences electronic book effectively more than existent input device. Also, support 1 users in 1 input device in existent mode, but this system can expect various effect because support Multi-user. The digi-pet(digital pet) is physical tools that convey emotion between tabletop display platform and user. And this shows various results acting as assistance because becomes master of story of imagination and participate directly on talk and makes change of story. In this paper, we described about oriented electronic book system the future that combines tabletop display and Digi-pet. This system is expected that the usefulness is increased by leaps and bounds along with technology development forward.

  • The study of sensor network database is beginning to liven up as we are interested in Ubiquitous Computing technology in hardware, communication, database and so on. Especially, as new smart sensors have capabilities of real-time information gathering and analysis of each sensor node, data processing becomes an important issue in Ubiquitous Computing. In thesis, we have applied TinyDB(query processing system) to carry sensor node with line tracer which can follow the fixed path. After we gathered data around path, we have processed data in TinyDB GUI, gathered data, displayed data on a web server. Also we have a web browser on an embedded board for convenient user interface and implemented touch screen such that users can operate with a finger.

  • The uniqueness of Korean funeral culture has produced the problems such as forest indiscreet cemetery development and increase of cemeteries for those without surveying family due to negligent management. To solve these problems, government and social organization have recommended a use of cremation, charnel house and cemetery. The objective of this study is to develop a cemetery information management system which cemetery managers who are GIS laypersons are able to understand GIS functions easily and use conveniently. Cemetery tasks should be done not only in the office but also at the field. In the office, they perform GIS functions like input, modification and so forth using a desktop. And at the field, they perform the functions like simple input, inquiry using a PDA(Touchscreen) that can receive GPS signal. As various open source softwares were used to build the system, the expense was reduced largely, and we could expect the possibility that it can be utilized in more cemeteries by adding more various functions.
