A Strategy using Writing based on STEAM Instruction for Information Gifted Students' Creative Problem-Solving (정보영재의 창의적 문제해결력을 위한 STEAM 기반 쓰기 활용 전략)

  • In this paper, we propose an a strategy using writing based on STEAM Instruction for information gifted students' creative problem-solving. It is needed a complex and dynamic interaction of variety elements for creative problem solving. And it should be provided experience encompassing various disciplines thorough convergence education for leading to the these interactions and developing the ability to solve complex problems. Writing has already been verified educational effects in a variety subjects. And writing gives a positive impact on creative problem solving by helping awareness of the problem and encouraging critical thinking. In addition, writing can be used as an effective tool for improving problem solving based on similarities between problem-solving process. Learners will find algorithm thorough the process analyzing and writing experience with high-tech products like vending machines, mobile phones and can learn naturally the principles of various disciplines used in real life. Furthermore, learners will experience interaction, convergence of various thinking and cultivate creative problem- solving skills.

A Study on Student's Processes of Problem Solving Using Open-ended Geometric Problems in the Middle School (중학교 기하단원의 개방형문제에서 학생의 문제해결과정의 사고 특성에 관한 연구)

  • This study is to investigate student's processes of problem solving using open-ended Geometric problems to understand student's thinking and behavior. One 8th grader participated in performing her learning in 5 lessons for June in 2006. The result of the study was documented according to Polya's four problem solving stages as follows: First, the student tended to neglect the stage of "understanding" a problem in the beginning. However, the student was observed to make it simplify and relate to what she had teamed previously Second, "devising a plan" was not simply done. She attempted to solve the open-ended problems with more various ways and became to have the metacognitive knowledge, leading her to think back and correct her errors of solving a problem. Third, in process of "carrying out" the plan she controled her solving a problem to become a better solver based on failure of solving a problem. Fourth, she recognized the necessity of "looking back" stage through the open ended problems which led her to apply and generalize mathematical problems to the real life. In conclusion, it was found that the student enjoyed her solving with enthusiasm, building mathematical belief systems with challenging spirit and developing mathematical power.

Intolerance of Uncertainty, Negative Problem Orientation on Worry (불확실성에 대한 인내력 부족과 걱정과의 관계에서 부정적인 문제해결 지향의 매개효과)

  • Background: The purpose of this study is to investigate the mediating effect of negative problem orientation in the association between intolerance uncertainty and worry. Methods: Participants who were 531 undergraduate students in Chungbuk were administered Intolerance Uncertainty Scale (IUS), Negative Problem Orientation (NPO; SPSI-R), Penn State Worry Questionnaire (PSWQ). Results: The results are as follows. Intolerance of uncertainty had statistically significant positive correlation with worry. Negative problem orientation had a partial mediating effect in the association between intolerance uncertainty and worry. Conclusions: This result suggested the importance of intolerance of uncertainty and negative problem orientation in psychological approach to university students who have difficulty in worry.

  • 본 연구는 2015년 교육과정에 명시된 정보교과의 운영방침과 중등학교 소프트웨어 교육 현황을 분석하고, 이에 대한 문제점을 해결 할 수 있는 방안으로 창의적 문제 해결력을 통한 소프트웨어 교육 모형을 제안한다. 창의적 문제 해결력은 확산적 사고와 수렴적 사고를 통해 학생들이 문제 해결에 필요한 사고를 키울 수 있는 모형이다. 이에 본 논문에서는 컴퓨팅 사고력을 가진 창의·융합 인재 육성이라는 소프트웨어의 교육 목표를 달성하기 위해 기존의 CPS모형과 CT의 요소간의 유사점을 확인하고 이를 바탕으로 새로운 CPS-SW 모형을 제안한다. CPS-SW 모형으로 컴퓨팅 사고력과 창의적 문제해결력을 키울 수 있으며, 이를 통해 미래 사회에 필요한 인재육성을 위한 소프트웨어 교육의 발전에 기여하고자 한다. 또한 CPS-SW 모형을 적용할 수 있는 프로그램과 학생들이 창의적 문제해결력을 키울 수 있는 학습에 대한 연구가 필요할 것으로 예상한다.

An Analysis on the Elementary Preservice Teachers' Problem Solving Process in Intuitive Stages (직관적 수준에서 초등 예비교사들의 문제해결 과정 분석)

  • In general, the intuitive knowledge that can use in mathematics problem solving is one of the important knowledge to teachers as well as students. So, this study is aimed to analyze the elementary preservice teachers' intuitive knowledge in relation to intuitive and counter-intuitive problem solving. For this, I performed survey to use questionnaire consisting of problems that can solve in intuitive methods and cause the errors by counter-intuitive methods. 161 preservice teachers participated in this study. I got the conclusion as follows. preservice teachers' intuitive problem solving ability is very low. I special, many preservice teachers preferred algorithmic problem solving to intuitive problem solving. So, it's needed to try to improve preservice teachers' problem solving ability via ensuring both the quality and quantity of problem solving education during preservice training courses. Many preservice teachers showed errors with incomplete knowledges or intuitive judges in counter-intuitive problem solving process. For improving preservice teachers' intuitive problem solving ability, we have to develop the teacher education curriculum and materials for preservice teachers to go through intuitive mathematical problem solving. Add to this, we will strive to improve preservice teachers' interest about mathematics itself and value of mathematics.

An Analysis on the Mathematical Problem Solving Strategies of Ordinary Students, Gifted Students, Pre-service Teachers, and In-service Teachers (일반학생, 영재학생, 예비교사, 현직교사의 다전략 수학 문제해결 전략 분석)

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the problem solving strategies of ordinary students, gifted students, pre-service teachers, and in-service teachers with the 'chicken and pig problem,' which has multiple strategies to obtain the solution. For this study, 98 students in the 6th grade elementary schools, 96 gifted students in a gifted institution, 72 pre-service teachers, and 60 in-service teachers were selected. The researcher presented the "chicken and pig" problem and requested them the solution strategies as many as possible for 30 minutes in a free atmosphere. As a result of the study, the gifted students used relatively various and efficient strategies compared to the ordinary students, and there was a difference in the most used strategies among the groups. In addition, the percentage of respondents who suggested four or more strategies was 1% for the ordinary students, 54% for the gifted students, 42% for the pre-service teachers, and 43% for the in-service teachers. As suggestions, the researcher asserted that various kinds of high-quality mathematical problems and solving experiences should be provided to students and teachers and have students develop multi-strategy problems. As a follow-up study, the researcher suggested that multi-strategy mathematical problems should be applied to classroom teaching in a collaborative learning environment and reflected them in teacher training program.

Multi-Agent Knowledge Discovery and Problem Solving Framework (다중 에이전트 기반 지식 탐사 및 문제 해결 프레임워크)

  • Decentralized 정보는 여러 도메인에 대한 heterogeneous한 독립적인 정보가 자율적으로 존재하며 이들 정보간의 관계성의 고려한 전체에 대한 global view가 존재하지 않기 때문에 inter-domain에 대한 마이닝을 수행하는데 어려움이 있다. 본 연구에서는 intra-domain knowledge discovery, intra 및 inter-domain problem solving method라는 접근방법으로, decentralized 데이터 환경에서 문제 해결에 필요한 정보 추출을 위한 데이터 tailoring과 분산 데이터에 대한 목표-지향 데이터마이닝(goal-oriented data-mining)을 통해 문제 해결을 위해 필요한 지식을 생성하고 이들 간의 관련 정보를 탐색하여 문제를 해결하는 프레임워크를 제안한다. 특히, 생성된 지식간의 협동 문제 처리를 멀티 에이전트 패러다임을 이용하기로 한다. 제안 프레임워크는 산재되어 있는 데이터들로부터 문제 해결에 유용한 지식 차원의 정보를 추출해내고 생성된 지식을 바탕으로 각 도메인 정보에 대한 개별적인 사용뿐 만 아니라 서로 cooperation을 통한 문제 해결을 지원함으로써, 개방된 분산 환경하에 decentralized 되어 있는 여러 도메인 정보를 보다 효율적으로 활용할 수 있는 새로운 형태의 문제 해결 방법이라고 할 수 있다.

  • 본 연구는 급변하는 경영환경에서 서비스 기업들이 빠르고 창의적인 혁신활동으로 기업의 문제를 해결을 지원하기 위한 문제해결 정보시스템을 설계 하고자 하는 연구이다. 이를 위해 창의적 혁신 기법인 TRIZ 혁신 기법과 고객관점의 최적화 기법인 6시그마 기법을 융합하여 CTQ를 중심으로 하는 3단계 문제해결 Logic과 이를 지원하는 정보 시스템 설계에 대한 Framework 및 속성들을 제시하였다. 또한 서비스 기업의 일반적 사례 적용을 통해 문제해결정보시스템의 활용 가능성을 확인 하였고, 이에 대한 문제해결 시스템 적용을 통해 서비스 기업들의 경영혁신을 고도화하여, 기업의 경쟁력을 향상할 수 있다는 점을 제시해 주고 있다.

  • 트리즈에는 여러 가지 문제해결 방법론이 있다. 이들 방법론들 중에서 혁신으로 이어지는 해결책은 문제 속에 들어있는 모순을 해결하는 것이다. 트리즈의 적용 성공사례에서 모순 해결이 혁신으로 이어진 예는 너무도 많다. 본 연구에서는 문제 속에 들어있는 물리모순의 표현이 문제에 대한 근본 원인의 새로운 형태임을 밝힌다.

  • Problem solving is essential skill for all students in the $21^{st}$ century. In particular, as the computing system ensures the effectiveness of problem solving in the various disciplines and real life, interest in learning algorithms to design a problem solving process is increasing. In order to improve problem solving skill, students should not only understand algorithm design skills but also apply appropriate skills to solve faced problem. In terms of these the puzzle can be considered a preferred learning tools to improve problem solving skill. Therefore, in this study we designed puzzled based algorithm learning and analyzed the impact of puzzle based algorithm learning on problem solving skills of leaners. As the results of research, we confirmed that the puzzled based algorithm learning took positive effect on enhancing problem solving skills of the learners.
