Development of Teaching Model for 'Problem-solving methods and procedures' section in the 2012's revised Informatics curriculum (2012년 신 개정 정보 교육과정의 '문제 해결 방법과 절차' 영역을 위한 수업 모형 개발)

  • The purpose of this study is to develop an effective teaching model for the "Problem solving methods and procedures" section in the revised academic high school informatics curriculum, verify its effectiveness, make the subject more effective and appealing to teachers as well as students. The model includes a middle school level informatics curriculum for the students who have yet to learn the section. This development follows the ADDIE model, and the Python programming language is adopted for the model. Using the model, classes were conducted with two groups: high school computer club students and undergraduate students majoring in computer education. Of the undergraduate students 75% responded positively to the model. This model was applied in the actual high school classroom teaching for 23 class-hours in the spring semester 2012. The Pearson correlation coefficient that verifies the correspondence between the PSI score and the informatics midterm exam grade is .247, which reflects a weak positive correlation. The result of the study showed that the developed teaching model is an effective tool in educating students about the "problem solving methods and procedures". The model is to be a cornerstone of teaching/learning plans for informatics at academic high school as well as training materials for pre-service teachers.

  • 본 논문은 초등정보교육과정의 "문제해결방법과 절차" 영역에 필요한 초등 교육용 프로그래밍 언어교육을 실시하는데 사용될 수 있는 PBL 및 스캐폴딩 교수학습 모형을 초등 수업에 적용하고 비교 분석하였다. 이를 위해 두리틀 프로그래밍 언어를 적용하였고, 두 가지 교수학습 모형을 적용한 교수학습방법을 실시한 후 학생들의 학업 성취도 및 교육용 프로그래밍 언어에 대한 흥도 측면을 비교 분석하였다.

  • 원자력발전소에서 디지털 컴퓨터의 사용이 증가함에 따라 관련 시스템의 안전성, 신뢰성, 무결성, 가용성, 완전성 등을 충족시키기 위한 방안들이 현안으로 대두되고 있다. 특히 원자력발전소의 신경계통이라 할 수 있는 계측제어 계통의 디지털화로 인하여, 기존의 아날로그 하드웨어의 기능을 향상시킨 소프트웨어가 디지털 시스템에 사용되게 됨으로서, 디지털 시스템에 사용되는 상용 소프트웨어 제품의 신뢰도가 원자력발전소의 안전 및 안정 운영과 직결되므로 상용 소프트웨어에 대한 평가 문제가 중요한 관심사로 대두되었다. 본 논문의 서론에서는 원자력발전소에서 상용 소프트웨어제품을 사용하게 된 배경과 감시 및 제어를 위한 상용 실시간 운영체제를 사용하기 위한 고려사항을 기술하고, 본론에서는 상용 실시간 운영체제 선정시 제공하여야 할 기능에 대한 고려사항과, 상용 소프트웨어 제품 선정에 관한 규제 현황 및 규제 요건에 대한 고려사항을 해결하기 위한 선정 및 평가 절차를 수립하고, 이를 평가에 반영하는 방법과 절차를 제시한다. 결론에서는 원자력발전소 감시제어를 위한 상용 실시간 운영체제 평가시 고려사항의 해결에 대한 문제점과 해결 방안, 그리고 선정 절차 및 평가방안을 적용하는 데 따른 문제점과 해결 방안을 제시한다.

Effect of Learning a Divide-and-conquer Algorithm on Creative Problem Solving (분할 정복 알고리즘 학습이 창의적 문제 해결에 미치는 효과)

  • In secondary education, learning a computer science subject has the purpose to improve creative problem solving ability of students by learning computational thinking and principles. In particular, learning algorithm has been emphasized for this purpose. There are studies that learning algorithm has the effect of creative problem solving based on the leading studies that learning algorithm has the effect of problem solving. However, relatively the importance of the learning algorithm can weaken, because these studies depend on creative problem solving model or special contents for creativity. So this study proves that learning algorithm has the effect of creative problem solving in the view that common problem solving and creative problem solving have the same process. For this, analogical reasoning was selected among common thinking skills and divide-and-conquer algorithm was selected among abstractive principles for analogical reasoning in sorting algorithm. The frequency which solves the search problem by using the binary search algorithm was higher than the control group learning only sequence of sorting algorithm about the experimental group learning divide-and-conquer algorithm. This result means that learning algorithm including abstractive principle like divide-and-conquer has the effect of creative problem solving by analogical reasoning.

Analysis of creative problem solving literacy in problem-solving methods and procedures parts presented in informatics textbooks in middle schools (중학교 정보 교과서에서 '문제해결 방법과 절차' 영역의 창의적 문제해결력 경향 분석)

  • Developing middle and high students' information literacy and creative problem-solving skills in this information-oriented society is very important and for this reason, the subject of informatics has been established. However, little research on creative problem solving literacy of informatics textbooks has been conducted. Therefore, the purpose of this paper is to quantitatively analyze whether 'problem-solving methods and procedures' parts in informatics textbooks in middle schools present creative problem solving literacy or not and in what degree. Data were quantitatively analyzed using the Gil-Su Choi method. The result of data analysis indicated that all the textbooks turned out to be correct range in the category of the "composition of various learning activities," but got out of range in some categories such as "problem-solving process reflection" and "problem-solving strategy proposal". Also a few textbooks haven't satisfied in important indexes and activities. So, we suggest that more 'problem-solving process reflection' and 'problem-solving strategy proposal' parts should be included in the informatics textbook and more various forms of learning activities be utilized well as the ratio of activities needed primary and high mental processes be kept the balance.

  • 본 논문은 초등정보교육과정의 "문제해결방법과 절차" 영역에 필요한 알고리즘적 사고를 향상시키고자 초등 컴퓨터과와 수학과를 통합한 교수 학습 과정을 연구하고 적용하였다. 그리고 연구한 교수 학습과정을 적용한 실험군과 적용하지 않은 통제군을 비교하여 알고리즘적 사고력의 향상도, 통합된 교수 학습과정의 효과성에 대한 분석을 통해 본 논문에서 적용한 초등 컴퓨터과-수학과를 통합한 교수 학습 방법이 문제해결과정 구성 능력에 해당하는 알고리즘적 사고력 향상에 효과가 있는지 검증 및 분석하였다.

  • This paper proposes elementary Dolittle programming problems using the algorithmic thinking-based problem model with material factors in the elementary Dolittle programming. And this paper proves the validity of developed Dolittle programming problems in defining them as algorithmic thinking-based problems through experiments. The experimental results are analyzed in views of variety and effectiveness evaluation of answer algorithms and suitability of allocating degrees of difficulties to the developed Dolittle programming problems.

  • 시스템의 신뢰도는 설계 단계에서부터 중요한 제약 조건이 됨과 동시에 그 사용 단계에서도 지속적인 관찰의 대상이 된다. 특히 원자력 발전소와 길이 안전성이 강조되는 시스템에서 는 한 번의고장으로 치명적인 문제를 야기 시킬 수 있다. 따라서, 신뢰도가 높은 시스템을 구축하기 위한 방안과 함께 시스템의 신뢰도에 대한 수리적인 평가를 보다 합리적인 방법으로 할 수 있는 것에 관한 연구가 필요하다고 할 수 있다. 시스템의 신뢰도 평가는 고장를 분포 함수의 추정에서 출발한다. 시스템의 고장를 분포 함수 추정시, 고장 자료를 이용하여 분포 함수의 모수를 추정하지만 대상 시스템의 고장 자료가 없는 경우 다른 유사 시스템의 고장자료를 이용하여 고장률 분포 함수를 추정하게 된다. 기준의 연구들은 유사 시스템의 고장자료를 이용할 때 베이지안(Bayesian)분석 절차를 이용하였다. 하지만 기존 방법들은 추정 절차에 필요한 우도함수(likelihood function)를 유도시 계산상의 어려움이 많다. 본 연 구에서는 각각의 개발 자료에 대한 우도함수를 유도하여 전체적인 시스템의 우도함수를 유도함으로써 이러한 문제점을 해결할 수 있는 새로운 절차를 제안하였다. 또한 모의실험을 통하여 기존의 방법과의 비교함으로써 본 연구의 타당성을 검증하였다.

  • This paper proposes elementary robot programming problems using the algorithmic thinking-based problem model with material factors in the elementary robot programming. And this paper proves the validity of developed robot programming problems in defining them as algorithmic thinking-based problems through experiments. The experimental results are analyzed in views of variety and effectiveness evaluation of answer algorithms and suitability of allocating degrees of difficulties to the developed robot programming problems. As a result of the experiment, we find that the developed problems has various answer algorithms and suitable degrees of difficulties for elementary school students.

An Analysis on Mathematical Thinking Processes of Gifted Students Using Problem Behavior Graph (PBG(Problem Behavior Graph)를 이용한 수학적 사고 과정 분석)

  • This study is trying to analyze characteristics of mathematical thinking processes of the mathematical gifted students in an objective and a systematic way, by using "Protocol Analysis Method"and "Problem Behavior Graph" which is suggested by Newell and Simon as a qualitative analysis. In this study, four middle school students with high achievement in math were selected as subjects-two students for mathematical gifted group and the other two for control group also with high scores in math. The thinking characteristics of the four subjects, shown in the course of solving problems, were elicited, analyzed and compared, through the use of the creative test questionnaires which were supposed to clearly reveal the characteristics of mathematical gifted students' thinking processes. The results showed that there were several differences between the two groups-the mathematical gifted student group and their control group in their mathematical talents. From these case studies, we could say that it is significant to find out the characteristics of mathematical thinking processes of the mathematical gifted students in a more scientific way, in the sense that this result can be very useful to provide them with the chances to get more proper education by making clear the nature of thinking processes of the mathematical gifted students.
