Counting occupies a fundamental and important position in mathematical learning due to its relation to number concepts and numeral operations. In particular, counting up to large numbers is an essential learning element in that it is structural counting that includes the understanding of place values as well as the one-to-one correspondence and cardinal principles required by counting when introducing number concepts in the early stages of number learning. This study aims to derive didactical implications by investigating the possibility of and the strategies for counting large numbers that is expected to have no students' experience because it is not composed of current textbook activities. To do this, 89 second-grade elementary school students who learned the three-digit numbers and experienced group-counting and skip-counting as textbook activities were provided with questions asking how many penguins were in a picture where 260 penguins were irregularly arranged and how to count. As a result of analyzing students' responses in terms of the correct answer rate, the strategy used, and their cognitive characteristics, the incorrect answer rate was very high, and the use of decimal principles, group-counting, counting by one, and partial sum strategies were confirmed. Based on these analysis results, several didactical implications were derived, including the need to include counting up to large numbers as textbook activities.

This paper proposes a method that detects a license plate in complex background using a multiple-color model and character layout information. A layout of a green license plate is different from that of a white license plate. So, this study used a strategy that firstly assumes the plate color and then utilizes its layout information. At first, it extracts green areas from an input image using a multiple-color model which combined HIS and YIQ color models with RGB color model. If green areas are detected, it searches the character layout of the green plate by analyzing the connected components in each areas. If not detected, it searches the character layout of the white plate in all area. Finally, it extracts a license plate by grouping the connected components which corresponds to characters. Experimental result shows that 98.1% of 419 input images are correctly detected. It also shows that the proposed method is robust against illumination, shadow, and weather condition.

Music was made popular through the modern mass media. Nonetheless, if a period of high standard performances and appreciation by a minority of culture connoisseurs can be qualified with the expression "gentrification of culture", then a period when anyone can access culture through the mass media can be qualified with the terms "popularization of culture" and in this period the reorganization of performance culture can only be driven by the public. In fact, the Jabga, which is a type of traditional song that received strong public adhesion by means of phonograph records and radio broadcasts at the time, stands as a typical example to it. Gagok and Sijo up until the 1920s and even the 1930s are believed to engage actively in the changing media environment and the new modes of music enjoyment and transmission. The Album recording of faster rhythm music and the inclusion of the Sijo, Jabga, and folk songs in one broadcast programme can be seen as reflecting such an effort. However, it can only be hard for the Sijo and Gagok to challenge the predominance of the Jabga which made its lyrics more popular and the new songs written in accordance with the new media environment. Until the 1930s in this changing environment of music enjoyment, Gagok and Sijo performers rather sought to distinguish themselves from the existing popular song style by reproducing traditional forms. The album recording and broadcasting of Lee Wangjik Aakbu, the beginnings of local singers, the participation of male performers not only contributed to the diversification the enjoyment culture of songs and sijo, but also made the 'difference in standard' with the popular songs even more salient.

'Geumokchongbu' that is Gajib(a book of songs) is composed only the works of An Minyoung. Ahn Minyoung was not only an editor of Gajib and also Musician that is a kind of singer, Because of his works, he is the one who should be studied for the history of literature of Sijo in the latter period of Chosun, especially in 19th century. Through the studies on 'Geumokchongbu' that is the Gajib edited by Ahn Minyoung. his excellent musical talent could be confirmed. 'Geumokchongbu' which is another Gajib in compared to 'Gagokwonryu' was produced under his careful musical consideration. The tunes shown on Gajib reflected the situation of Gagok just as it was sung and played in that period. Generally, the system of Gajib which was edited in that period Including 'Geumokchongbu' was continued on nowaday's tradition of singing and playing the Gagok. Nevertheless lots of studied results about Ahn Minyoung, the editor of Gajib. was reported. his personal aspect still was not explained for many detailed part. The introduction o( the background of works and various explanation was recorded for each work in 'Geumokchongbu'. The written year of works was found in the introductions. and some of Ahn Minyoung's life could be traced through the chronicle. It could be confirmed for his broad knowledge about music and detailed reality of active correspondences with many loyal family including Daewongun, Lee Haeung and artists in that period. The existence of a type of singing and playing which takes any part of specific tunes shown on Gajib was confirmed. For example, Hachuksi, a blessing poem, dedicated for Daewongun or loyal family was created for supposing singing and playing thoroughly. Accordingly, Hachuksi dedicated to specific persons might be sung and played at the same place, and in the same bundle. Through the study, the way of singing and playing the Gagok was much various, and the variety was confirmed concretely.

The 'Localization' & the 'Popularization' issues always play an important role at the Chinese Marxism. The Chinese Communist Party (C.C.P) is still emphasizing the 'Localization', but the 'Popularization' did not received the Chinese theorists' attention. Therefore a new theory in 'Popularization of Chinese Marxism' is very small. But at the 17th National Convention, C.C.P offered a suggestion that entitled "Lead the popularization of Marxism in China". And diversity theorization involved popularization of Marxism is in motion by Chinese theoretician. Throughout history of Chinese Marxism, the first theoretician who raised an objection of the popularization of Marxism in China is Aisiqi, and his achievements in this field are unequaled. His Popular philosophy is the most typical book on the popularization of Marxism in China. In the 1930s, China faced a serious crisis, Chinese intelligentsia & mass desperately wanted an idea to unify the country. Many intellectuals have latched on to the Marxism, especially Aisiqi was absorbed in the important assignment that how can bring out leadership of Marxism, how can popularize abstract and profound principle of Marx philosophy. Aisiqi's Popular Philosophyis marked by the 'Localization' & the 'Popularization', after this book is published, had a big impact on Chinese Revolution. The purpose of this thesis is a meaning through the Popular Philosophy consideration and evaluation to get to the bottom of that the C.C.P offered a suggestion with 'Popularization of Chinese Marxism'.

This paper aims to introduce Park Seon-su's ShuowenJiezi YIzheng from the perspective of Epigraphy, and incorporate it into the fields of Korean Epigraphy. Korean Epigraphy, which now categorized as a study since Kim Jeong-hee's powerful work in 19th century, can be listed either by studies published before and after Kim Jeong-hee's and by name of influential writers who have successfully presented each study and strive for the development of Korean Epigraphy. Earlier studies show that Korean Epigraphy has more books of data collection rather than the books of research on the epigraph. Regardless of the nationality of the author, all books containing Korean epigraph were counted as Korean Epigraphy, and those books made for religious reasons were not excluded from Korean Epigraphy as well. This indicates how wide the scope of Korean Epigraphy is. In this The reason Park Seon-su's research is ignored at present time, which was assessed as excellent in the late Chosun Dynasty, may come from lack of understanding on the ShuowenJiezi YIzheng. His book, ShuowenJiezi YIzheng, focuses on graphology but more broadly it includes translation of Epigraph and Epigraphy which leads to interpretation of scriptures. Such Park- Seonsu's great work must be presented in Korean Epigraphy studies to broaden its scope, also it is important to look for yet unfound pieces on the fields of Epigraphy.

Throughout its short history, the discourses of philosophy of technology has been centered around two issues, namely the recovery of human autonomy in technological society and the pursuit of sustainable development. Following the basic subject matters of the discipline, this article suggests to examine the possibility of the 'ethical engineering design,' meaning that ethical consideration should be included in engineering design. This proposal is based on the critique that philosophy of technology has so far focused on the external approach to the problem of technology, neglecting the active role of engineers. By paying attention to engineering design, however, philosophy of technology can offer a more realistic solution for the problems of the technological society. The first section shows the context of the current discussion by surveying the brief history of philosophy of technology. The thesis of engineering design in philosophy of technology will be presented in the second section, together with supporting reasons. The third section will examine theories and efforts that raised the issue of engineering design in the past. They have been suggested in different contexts, but when put together, they can be used for the justification of the current proposal. The fourth section will deal with the possible critiques of this proposal, which will be followed by suggestions for engineers themselves.
