  • The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of treadmill exercise on the aerobic function of dance majors in their 20s. The subjects consisted of 10 female Korean dance majors in their 20s as an experimental group and 10 normal female college students as a control group, and both groups conducted treadmill gait training. Their heart rate recovery (HRR), maximal oxygen uptake (MOU), maximal voluntary ventilation (MVV), and lactate recovery rate (LRR) were measured before and after the experiment. The comparison of changes in the subjects' aerobic function before and after the experiment showed that the experimental group gained more significant effects on HRR and LRR than the control group. Therefore, treadmill gait training may help Korean dance majors to improve their basic physical strength by enhancing their aerobic function, and the findings of this study are likely to provide basic data to support scientific exercise prescriptions.

  • The purpose of this study is to draw a systematic access method of career intervention for dance majors. This study conducted Delphi survey and Analytic Hierarchy Process(AHP). As a result of study, 16 elements of career intervention were produced in total 4 areas. Results show that vocational guidance puts emphasis on the understanding of the various vocations, career education on the career planning and goal, career counseling on the macro-narrative to the life and career intervention network on the dance job fair and workshop. In the complex weight of all factors, ratings of weight show that dance vocation guidance and career education are demanded significantly. Results show that expansion of career alternatives, application of diversified dance career development road map to the curriculum, development of test tool and outcome standard, dance educators' systematic career intervention education and systematization of network for career support were suggested as measures for dance career intervention. This study discussed about dynamic reality and systematic access method for dance majors based on theories of Holland(1997), Super(1990), and Savickas(2005).

This research was executed as the subjects who are currently the student of dance majors of a college in Seoul, Kyonggi, Daejeon and Chungchungnam-do, one college were selected from each district. And by using purposive sampling method, total of 262 peoples that were used in final analysis was extracted. In this study, adequacy and reliability of the questionnaire were verified by factor analysis, reliability analysis, regression analysis and course analysis by using SPSS18.0. The conclusion is as follows. First, instructor's support for dance education influences on instructor' trust. Secondly, support for dance education partly influences on dance attachment. Thirdly, instructor' trust influences on dance attachment. Lastly, support for dance education influences dance attachment throughout instructor' trust. Especially, support for dance education' influence for dance attachment throughout instructor' trust is more influential than support for dance education' influence for dance attachment directly. Now it is obvious that instructor' trust is the important variable that intermediate support for dance education and dance attachment.

  • The study was conducted to verify the causality of the ability of high school and college dance majors to influence the successful goal orientation and how the change in goal affects the sense of dance performance self-confidence. In this regard, 172 dance majors were collected to collect data on their belief in dance ability, the direction of mastery goal of approach and avoidance, and the measure of confidence in dance performance, and the results of their studies were derived through correlation and structural equation analysis and path analysis. The analysis results showed reasonable factor structure and reliability based on the preceding study of feasibility analysis results between variables. Thus, the structural equation for the study variables confirmed that the theoretical hypothesis was suitable, and the path of each variable was verified through the path analysis. The analysis showed that the increased belief that ability can be improved by effort has been found to improve the effort and consequently the confidence in dancing. Also, the fixed belief that ability is not changing in a fixed sense has been found to affect the avoidance goal and reduce confidence. It can be interpreted that the more one believes that one can change one's ability by effort, the more one strengthens one's actions to achieve one's goal, thereby improving one's dance confidence. Therefore, it is deemed necessary for subsequent studies to explore whether the paths of these models differ by their major or dance careers, and to apply variables that can measure the success or failure of actual performances to enhance the explanatory power of these research variables.
