Review for the Helical coil type and Spiral coil type in a mid range Wireless Power Transfer System (근거리 무선전력전송용 헬리컬 코일과 스파이럴 코일에 대한 고찰)

  • In electromagnetic coupled resonance(ECR) WPT system, the main key for wireless power transmission is the design method of the ECR coils. The ECR coils is classified to the helical coil(3D) type and the spiral coil(2D) type as a coil structure. The pattern of the spiral coil type has been studied in favor of commercialization. In this paper, the design characteristics of the helical coil and the spiral coil is considered using a Vector Network Analyzer. It is analyzed according to the distance of coupling coefficient between the ECR coils. Also, It is analyzed for the relationships such as the maximum transmission efficiency and the resonant frequency depending on the distance between the coils.

  • Wireless power transfer (WPT) system is very attractive because it removes power cables from home appliances, office equipments and battery chargers for electric vehicles. In this paper, non-radiative WPT systems studied recently are claimed to be technologically or theoretically identical in operation irrespective of the number of coils. Especially, 2-coil and 3-coil systems are compared in detail. It is also shown that multiplicity of coils does not increase power transfer capability.

  • In this paper, a wireless power transfer system with semi-random magnetic flux is studied. Directions of semi-random magnetic flux are changing almost randomly which can induce voltages at coils irrelevantly to coil's posture. So, very convenient charging is possible. Semi-random magnetic flux can be generated by a coil system which has three coils perpendicular to each other and carrying currents with different frequencies. A prototype for charging mobile devices is constructed and tested, and the proposal is verified.

  • In this paper, the wireless power transfer system using the magnetic resonance was designed, analyzed by circuit analysis methode and the calculated transfer function was compared with the measured one. The self-resonant coil was made up of the commonly used capacitor which had the lumped capacitance and it enabled the stable magnetic resonance not to be affected by the circumstance. The transmission efficiency of this system was 70[%] at the 15[cm] between the transmission and receiving coil and the measured transfer function was similar to the calculated one, which means the circuit analysis methode is valid in this system. When the intermediate coils were added between the transmission and receiving coil, the transmission efficiency was increased, which produced the increase of transfer distance. In the case of the five intermediate coils adding, the 35[%] transmission efficiency was achived at the 90[cm] distance.

  • A Transcutaneous Energy Transmission System (TET) has been developed for the wireless energy transmission with two magnetically coupled coils. A resonance circuit is used to raise the induced voltage and current of the secondary coil. Its resonance frequency depends on the internal resistance of circuit and the transferred energy. Because the transferred energy usually changes in wide range, the output voltage is unstable and the energy transferring efficiency decrease. A push-pull class E amplifier is usedto generate high frequency AC voltage. To maintain proper resonance frequency, the voltage output of the amplifier was continuously monitored and adjusted to the optimized resonance frequency. Because of its high frequency (370 kHz), a phase lockedloop circuit and a comparator are used to monitor the output waveform. The results of experimentaldata show that the PLL circuit can increase the transmission efficiency and stabilize the output voltage of TET.

  • In this paper, a novel M-ary orthogonal CDMA scheme which utilizes time hopping codes and binary orthogonal sequences is proposed for personal communication system. Its modulated output signal has the characteristics of greater bandwidth occupancy and lower spectral density level as well. So this scheme is useful for spectrum overlay with existing narrowband communication systems which occupy current radio frequency channels. This paper investigates system characteristics through the analysis of modulated output signal power spectrum, and demonstrates the possibility of spectrum overlay.

  • In this paper, a GMSK modulator was implemented with a gaussian lowpass filter using digital signal processing, a phase integration, D/A convers and auxiliary circuits. The relatively narrow bandwidth of power spectrum of the GMSK modulator is observed when the cut off frequency (B T) of the gaussian baseband filter is varied. In a demodulator, a discriminator type circuit is used. Using the above degital radio GMSK modem, BER is theoretically derived and experimentally measured when 16Kbps PRBS data is transmitted under Rayleigh fading and additive white gaussian noise conditions.

  • Wireless power transmission introduced by Tesla has instrumented by many scientists of the world. This technique first was utilized as wireless communications such as radio in long range transmission. And contactless transmission using inductive property was used on white goods. In 2007, MIT' lab introduced that new wireless power transmission by magnetic resonance which has about 50% efficiency and 2M transmission distances, it was a chance to refocus a new possibility of wireless power transmission. In this paper, using LC coupling compensate the short distances of contactless transmission, this simple method could transmit about 30cm distances. Using this approach, it can be solved the short transmission distances, a drawback of Electromagnetic inductive coupling method.

Study on conversion efficiency of RF-DC converter with series diode (직렬 연결 RF-DC 변환기의 변환효율에 관한 연구)

  • In this paper, we designed the RF-DC converter used in wireless power transmission system and studied how to design the RF-DC converter of high conversion efficiency. The RF-DC converter operate at 2.45GHz and the diode is connected with series. The RF-DC converter uses shorted stub for DC loop and matching. We can divide the RF-DC converter circuit into four blocks. The reflection coefficients between the blocks were optimized for the maximum conversion efficiency at 0 dBm input power and $1300{\Omega}$ load impedance. The final design of the RF-DC converter has a 52 percent conversion efficiency.

  • 본 논문에서는 USN 기반 센서 정보수집기술과 지능형 영상분석기술을 이용하여 도시철도 역사와 지하도 상가의 유해가스, 미세먼지 등 지하공기 상태를 실시간 모니터링하고 분석할 수 있는 시스템을 설계하고 구현한다. 이를 위해 TinyOS를 탑재한 저전력 프로세서 시스템으로 IEEE 802.15.4 표준 무선 네트워크 통신을 지원하는 센서 노드를 구현하고, 이 센서 노드로부터 수집된 데이터를 이 기종 네트워크와 연동하여 상위 시스템에 전송할 수 있는 USN 게이트웨이 노드 시스템을 구현한다. 이러한 네트워크 시스템을 통해 수집된 센싱 데이터는 중앙의 DB서버로 취합 및 저장되도록 구현되며, 최종적으로는 어플리케이션 서버를 통해 공중이용시설의 이용자나 철도 안전 모니터링 요원에게 실시간으로 정보를 서비스할 수 있도록 구현된다.
