  • This paper concerns the design of a matching module system enabling the RF signal to be harmonized between the new base stations (RRH) and the repeater in the same frequency band of the asynchronous transfer network. This matching system controls the RF Gain Control of the module while monitoring the quality of the quality. Additionally, the RF environment has been adapted accordingly to adjust the RF Gain Control to match the receiver characteristics of the relay. As a result of this study, we improved the quality of the interface between the new base stations and existing relays.

  • 모바일 IPTV는 이동통신망을 이용하여 방송서비스를 제공한다. 이동통신망을 통해 원활하게 방송서비스를 제공하기 위해서는 극복해야 할 기술적인 장벽이 몇 가지 존재한다. 그 중 하나로, 사용자가 기지국과 기지국 사이를 이동하는 경우 통신망은 연속적으로 서비스를 제공하기 위해 상대 기지국에 사용자의 정보를 전달하는 핸드오버 절차가 수행된다. 핸드오버 절차가 수행되면 시간의 지연이 발생하는데, 시간 지연은 방송 품질에 영향을 미칠 수 있다. 따라서 핸드오버의 발생에 따른 성능 분석은 원활한 방송 서비스를 제공하는데 있어 필수적인 과정으로 볼 수 있다. 본 논문은 핸드오버 성능을 분석하기 위하여 기본적인 무선 액세스 네트워크의 기능이 이미 구현되어 있는 NLS(Network-level Simulator)를 이용한 모의실험 방법을 제시한다. 하지만, 성능 분석에 필요한 기능이 모두 NLS에 포함되어 있지는 않다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 NLS 중 하나인 QualNet을 이용하여 핸드오버 성능 분석에 필요한 기능을 구현하는 방법을 예로 설명한다. 성능은 핸드오버 지연시간과 지연시간의 CDF(Cumulative Distribution Function) 로서 나타낸다.

  • IEEE 802.16e(Wibro) standard, providing robust mobile realtime data transmission technology, requires of faster and smooth execution of security mechanisms, such as key distribution and user authentications, during base station hopping. In particular, key management mechanisms such as redistribution and regeneration have an impact on digital contents transmission and realtime data transmission, not only in 802.16e environment, but also in typical transmission environment as well. This paper presents traffic management mechanisms designed to realtime digital contents (such as IPTV) transmission efficiency and increase the QoE by utilizing OKTEK methodology.

Design of Marine IoT Wireless Network for Building Fishing Gear Monitoring System (어구 모니터링 시스템 구축을 위한 해상 IoT 무선망 설계)

  • In order to prevent overusing the fishing gear and to reduce discarded fishing gear, there is a need for a technique that can efficiently transmit the information including the type and location of the fishing gear and the user's real name to the fishing boat and the control center using IoT-based communication. In order to do this, it is necessary to be able to confirm the position information of a plurality of buoys that can be identified by the base stations on the land. In this paper, in order to service the maritime IoT communication system, we calculate the link budget between the land base station and the targets on the sea to derive the service coverage. To design a marine IoT radio network for building a fishing gear monitoring system, we calculate link budget for wireless service optimization at sea for NB-IoT using 1.8 GHz frequency band and LoRa service using 900 MHz frequency band. In addition, the link budget between the land base station and buoy, the link budget between the land base station and fishing boat are calculated and the results are analyzed.

  • 무선환경은 가짜 클론 디바이스가 진짜인 것처럼 위장한 해킹공격에 매우 취약한 것으로 잘 알려져 있다. 그것은 단말기와 기지국(AP: Access Point)이 위변조가 쉬운 디바이스 식별자(예로 MAC(Medium Access Control) 주소, SSID, BSSID(Basic Service Set Identification) 등)를 이용하여 상호 인증하기 때문이다. 무선핑거프린팅(Wireless Fingerprinting)은 통신과정에서 발생되는 무선신호 특성으로부터 디바이스를 고유하게 식별하는 핑거프린트를 추출하여 송신 디바이스가 가짜 클론 디바이스인지 아닌지 여부를 식별하는 기술이다. 본 기술은 무선물리계층 보안을 위한 인증 및 키 생성, 무선 침입탐지, 공격자의 위치/방향/거리 추적, 무선 포랜식 및 보안관제의 성능을 결정하는 핵심기술로 활용되고 있다. 향후 등장이 예상되는 M2M 무선랜, 무선인지네트워크, 무선센서, 무선차량통신, IoT 무선통신환경에서도 본 기술의 중요성은 더욱 증가하리라 본다. 본고에서는 무선 디바이스의 핑거프린팅 개념을 이해하고, 기술 분류에 따른 세부기법 연구 및 보안응용 동향을 분석함으로써 본 기술의 발전방향을 조망해보고자 한다.

A Strategy to maintain Cache Consistency in Mobile Computing Environments using the Asynchronous Broadcasting (비동기적 방송을 사용하는 이동 컴퓨팅 환경에서 캐쉬 일관성 유지 정책)

  • In mobile computing environments, to efficiently use the narrow bandwidth of wireless networks a mobile host caches the data that are frequently accessed. But, because the cached data can be inconsistent with the data n a server due to the host mobility and the disconnection from a server, the usefullness of cached data may be losted. The traditional methods emphasize on the cache consistency and assume that broadcasting times are synchronized at all mobile supprot stations. In this paper, we propose a strategy to maintain cache consistency, which resolves the problems that be caused by the migration of mobile host. The proposed strategy has asynchronous broadcasting time and reduces the communication overhead caused by the synchronization. Also, by preventing the unnecessary messages transmitting from the mobile support station to a mobile host, this strategy can reduce the communication cost and use the narrow bandwidth of wireless networks efficiently.

Game Theoretic Cache Allocation Scheme in Wireless Networks (게임이론 기반 무선 통신에서의 캐시 할당 기법)

  • Caching popular videos in the storage of base stations is an efficient method to reduce the transmission latency. This paper proposes an incentive proactive cache mechanism in the wireless network to motivate the content providers (CPs) to participate in the caching procedure. The system consists of one/many Infrastructure Provider (InP) and many CPs. The InP aims to define the price it charges the CPs to maximize its revenue while the CPs compete to determine the number of files they cache at the InP's base stations (BSs). We conceive this system within the framework of Stackelberg game where InP is considered as the leader and CPs are the followers. By using backward induction, we show closed form of the amount of cache space that each CP renting on each base station and then solve the optimization problem to calculate the price that InP leases each CP. This is different from the existing works in that we consider the non-uniform pricing scheme. The numerical results show that InP's profit in the proposed scheme is higher than in the uniform pricing.

Design of DUC/DDC for the Underwater Basestation Based on Underwater Acoustic Communication (수중기지국 수중 음향 통신을 위한 DUC/DDC 설계)

  • Recently, there has been an increasing need for underwater communication systems to monitor ocean environments and prevent marine disasters, as well as to secure ocean resources. Most underwater communication systems adopted acoustic communication with a consideration of attenuation, absorption, and scattering in conductive sea water, and developed fully digital modems based on processors. In this study, a digital up converter (DUC) and a digital down converter (DDC) was developed for an underwater basestation based on underwater acoustic communication systems. Because one of the most important issues in underwater acoustic communication systems is low power consumption due to environmental problems, this study developed a specific hardware module for DUC and DDC. It supported four links of underwater acoustic communication systems and converted the sampling rate and frequency. The systemwas designed and verified using Verilog-HDL in ModelSim environment with the test data generated from baseband layer parts for an underwater base station.

Efficient Traffic Management Scheme for Fast Authenticated Handover in IEEE 802.16e Network (휴대인터넷에서 낮은 지연 특성을 가지는 인증유지 핸드오버를 위한 효과적인 트래픽 관리기법)

  • Recently, Portable Internet being standardized provides fast movement with wider service range than wireless LAN does. If Portable Internet service starts, many people will use Portable Internet and thus wireless traffic is going to increase. In Portable Internet, it is important to reduce handover latency to provide user with satisfactory service when handover occurs. In IEEE 802.16e, MSS sends its own security context information to one Base Station which it will move to reduce handover latency. But this is not suitable in the situation that the BS doesn't know the security context. To reduce handover latency of proactive caching method that is to send security context information to adjacency Base Stations in advance has been proposed by[4]. In this paper we propose effective traffic management algorithm to reduce signaling network traffic caused by proactive caching method.

Improving QoS using Mobility Management in Wireless Internet Environment (무선 인터넷에서 셀룰라 IP 이동성 관리에 의한 QoS 개선)

  • 본 논문에서는 셀 환경에서 QoS를 보장하기 위해 통합된 페이징과 루프 정보 관리 캐시를 사용하는 Cellular IP 특성을 가진 Cellular-IP/PRC 네트워크를 제안한다. 제안한 호 수락 방식은, 이동 노드의 홈 기지국 용량이 충분하고, 인접 셀 이동 노드가 흠 기지국에서 호가 수락되었다고 가정할 경우 받을 간섭의 증가량을 고려해 통화 품질이 보장될 때, 홈 기지국은 새로운 호를 이동 노드의 송신 전력 예측에 기반을 둔 호 수락 방식이다. 무선인터넷 네트워크 내의 페이징과 라우터를 관리하기 위해 사용되었던 PC(Paging Cache)와 RC(Routing Cache)를 하나의 PRC(Paging Router Cache)로 통합 관리하고, 모든 노드 내에 구성하여 운용토록 하고, 이동 노드의 핸드 오프 및 로밍 상태를 효율적으로 관리 할 수 있도록 이동 노드에 핸드오프 상태 머신을 추가하고, 노드에서 관련 기능을 수행하도록 하였다. 시스템 환경에서 통화량에 영향을 주는 인자를 각 링크 통화권 및 불균형 정도를 예측, 하향링크에 의해 통화권이 제한을 판단하여 송수신 전력을 기반으로 한 알고리즘과 제안한 알고리즘을 비교하여 QoS가 호 차단 확률과 호 탈락 확률, GoS, 셀 용량의 효율을 예측할 수 있는 QoS로 성능 개선을 연구한다.
