  • During incubation, pelagic seabirds undergo large variations in their body mass as a result of concomitant fasting. In Procellariifomes undergoing important changes in body mass through the incubation, body mass regulation could be an important factor in behavioural decisions for changing activities during the incubation. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of individuals' quality and incubation behaviour on their body mass regulation in Streaked Shearwaters Calonectris leucomelas breeding at Sasudo Island, in Jeju, South Korea during incubation period, June to August in 2013. In our results, we found that there was no relationship between the daily body mass loss and body size or condition of Streaked Shearwaters. However, the daily body mass loss increased significantly as the incubation bout increased. Moreover, the daily incubation bout was positively related to their body size. Consequently, although breeders' qualities were not related to their daily body mass loss during the incubation, the incubation behaviour affecting their daily body mass loss was regulated by their body size. Therefore, the body size of Streaked Shearwater breeders is one of important factors in their decisions for the incubation behaviour.

  • This paper presents controller design of a two wheeled mobile inverted pendulum robot for one man transportation vehicle. Since the overall mass is varying with different drivers, suitable controller gains are obtained through experimental studies. Variation of the center of gravity due to different masses also affects stable balancing control. Thus, the desired balancing angle si required to be modified with respect to different masses. To measure masses for different drivers, a weight scale is used and those data are used for balancing control through communication. The gain scheduling method of using data obtained from experimental studies allows the robot to have stable balancing performances.

  • The objective of this study is to establish the number of erupted $1^{st}$ molar, the age. sex and somatic measures of weight and height in population of Chungcheongnam-do, South Korea based cross sectional study. The consistent and complete data were obtained from 441 children with age of six. SPSS 12.0 was used for various statistical analyses including descriptive, cross tabulation, correlation and regression. Results demonstrates that variation of the number of the erupted $1^{st}$ molar was explained by age($x^2$(df)=117.68), height($x^2$(df=59.74) and weight($x^2$(df)=31.69) of children (P<.001). The study also showed the strong correlation among erupted $1^{st}$ molar rate, age, height and weight (p<.01). Numerical values of correlation among those are following: r = .45 between Erupted $1^{st}$ molar rate and age; r = .31 between erupted $1^{st}$ molar rate and height; r = .24 between erupted $1^{st}$ molar rate and weight; r = .40 between age and weight; r = .24 between age and height; r = .54 between height and weight. It was concluded that above variables influences one another and the age of the children is the greatest variable that influences the number of erupted $1^{st}$ molar, followed by height and weight of the children.

  • This paper presents a method for predicting blood pressure using the photoplethysmography signals. First, after measuring the optical blood flow signal, artifacts are removed through a preprocessing process, and a signal for learning is obtained. In addition, weight and height, which affect blood pressure, are measured as additional information. Next, a system is built to estimate systolic and diastolic blood pressure by learning the photoplethysmography signals, height, and weight as input variables through an artificial intelligence algorithm. The constructed system predicts the systolic and diastolic blood pressures using the inputs. The proposed method can continuously predict blood pressure in real time by receiving photoplethysmography signals that reflect the state of the heart and blood vessels, and the height and weight of the subject in an unconstrained method. In order to confirm the usefulness of the artificial intelligence-based blood pressure prediction system presented in this study, the usefulness of the results is verified by comparing the measured blood pressure with the predicted blood pressure.

  • The Purpose of this study was to investigate physical conditions and related factors of 5th grade, in Korea. The number of students surveyed was 10.751 . School health records of 63 grade schools were used. The school health record of 5th grade contains results of physical examination from 1st grade to 5th grade and results of physical fitness assessment for 5th grade. A questionnaire was also administered to the student. 1) The proportion of mother who has a job was 29% of students surveyed. Since some of mothers were working at odd hour, it is hard to take care of student's meal and nutritional intake. The proportion of students who didn't eat breakfast everyday was 5.8% . Students who took medicine for health were 26% of total students surveyed. 2) Male students were taller than female students until 4 th grade. At 5 th grade, the mean height was 137.1cm for male students and 137.6cm for female students . At 5 th grade, the mean weight was 31.5kg for male students and 31.2kg for female students. The 10, 25, 50, 75.90 percentile of the total distribution was examined . By rising in grade, the height velocity was decreased for male student and increased for female students . The weight velocity was increased sharply for male and female students and the increasing velocity was larger in female than male students. Using heights and weights from 1st grade, BMI, RI, and RW were calculated. 3) The proportion of students who drank milk everyday was 49%, The \intake frequency of cookies, eggs, ice cream, chocolate were higher than the intake freguency of cheese, ham and soy bean milk
