  • Because of increasing number of integrated circuit, there is many tries of making chip of neural network and some chip is exit. but this is not prefer because YLSI technology can't support so large hardware. So imitation of whole system of neural network is more prefer. There is common procedure in signal processing as in the neural network and pattern recognition. That is multiplication of large amount of signal and reading LUT. This is identical with some operation of MLP, and need iterative and large amount of calculation, so if we make this part with hardware, overall system's velocity will be improved. So in this paper, we design neutral network, not neuron which can be used to many other fields. We realize this part by following separated bits addition method, and it can be appled in the real time parallel process processing.

  • This article attenpts to analyze, from the perspective of post-colonialism, 'Goemul'(English title, The Host), the Korean blockbuster movie that scored the greatest box-office success in the history of the Korean cinema. As Goemul eagerly copies the monster movie, a representative genre of Hollywood movies, it has close affinity with Hollywood blockbuster movie in many repects. At the same time, however, it also contains a resistance discourse that criticizes and mocks colonial of Korean society under American influences. This movie successfully carries out a post-colonial cultural translation that transforms mimicry into resistance to colonialsim. Hence, this artcle focuses on how Goemul borrows many aspects of the Hollywood monster movie but goes beyond the simple copying of it to reach post-colonial signification subverting the existing cultural regime.

  • In this paper, we discuss the design and simulation of a jumping-robot mechanism that is actuated by SMA (shape memory alloy) wires. We propose a jumping-robot mechanism; the structure of the robot is inspired by the musculoskeletal system of vertebrates, including humans. Each robot leg consists of three parts (a thigh, shank, and foot) and three kinds of muscles (gluteus maximus, rectus femoris, and gastrocnemius). The jumping capability of the robot model was tested by means of computer simulations, and it was found that the robot can jump to about four times its own height. This robot model was also compared with another model with a simpler structure, and the performance of the former, which was based on the biomimetic design, was 3.3 times better than that of the latter in terms of the jumping height. The simulation results also verified that SMA wires can be suitable actuators for small jumping robots.

  • The mirror neuron regions which are distributed in cortical area handled a functionality of intention recognition on the basis of imitative learning of an observed action which is acquired from visual-information of a goal-directed action. In this paper an automated intention recognition system is proposed by applying computational model of mirror neuron system to the human-robot interaction system. The computational model of mirror neuron system is designed by using dynamic neural networks which have model input which includes sequential feature vector set from the behaviors from the target object and actor and produce results as a form of motor data which can be used to perform the corresponding intentional action through the imitative learning and estimation procedures of the proposed computational model. The intention recognition framework is designed by a system which has a model input from KINECT sensor and has a model output by calculating the corresponding motor data within a virtual robot simulation environment on the basis of intention-related scenario with the limited experimental space and specified target object.

  • The effect of aspect ratio (AR) on the aerodynamic characteristics of a flapping wing was examined to analyze the design parameters of an insect-based MAV. The experimental model constructed with 4-bar linkages was operated in a water tank with the condition of a low Reynolds number. A water-proof micro-force load cell was fabricated and installed at the root of the wing which is made of a plexiglas. The wing shapes were based on the planform of a fruit fly wing. The ARs selected were 1.87, 3.74 and 7.48 and the Reynolds number was fixed at $10^4$. For AR=1.87 and 3.74, distinct lift peaks which indicate unsteady effects such as 'wake-capture' were observed at the moment of the start of the wing-stroke. However, for AR=7.48, no unsteady effects were observed. These phenomena were also observed in the delayed rotation case. The results indicate that a larger AR provides better aerodynamic performance for the insect-based flapping wing which can be applied in MAV designs.

  • This paper has studied the lotus effect of the biomimetic engineering that is inspired from the nature. The biomimetic engineering has been improved with the nanotechnology. This paper has observed the hydrophobic property of the surface of the lotus leaf by using the scanning electron microscope (SEM) and atomic force microscope (AFM). The nano-scale of the hydrophobic lotus leaves are maximized the surface tension of water. The general grass leaf has been compared with the lotus leaf through the SEM and AFM - in the viewpoint of the 2D and 3D morphology. Also, The pre-existing of the hydrophobic theory was investigated and compared with the experimental observations for the lotus leaf.

  • In this paper, we propose a micro vibro tomography(MVT) method, that can be used to visualize two-dimensional cross-sectional images and micro-vibration tomographic images in real time in a non-contact and non-destructive manner. The proposed method is based on the optical coherence tomography(OCT) technique, with an additionally customized image processing algorithm. The proposed method can detect the micro-motions or vibrations in sample structures by measuring the phase shift variations in the sample structures. In this study, we show the potential capabilities of the proposed MVT system for measuring the micro-vibrations generated when sound waves in a frequency range of 2~5 kHz are applied to an $80-{\mu}m$ thick latex phantom, which mimics the changes in physical structure of the human tympanic membrane while hearing. Additionally, three-dimensional volumetric images of the MVT method were recorded to observe the surface morphological changes in the surface of the phantom sample which mimics the human tympanic membrane while hearing.

  • Recently, companies that have already the brand familiarity based on IT technology are changing the way of financial transactions by providing mobile simple payment service. It is difficult to apply the results of research conducted on traditional financial products, although the familiarity of the brand positively affects the brand attitude and intention of use in the preceding studies. To confirm this, this study verified whether mobile simple payment services of a company with high brand familiarity can copy the service easily and have intention of use through advertisement acceptance. The empirical results showed that the advertising of brand with high familiarity could be a motivation factor to imitate new services more easily. This results is meaningful in that it confirms the importance of strategic advertising because the more higher the brand's familiarity is, the more efficient the advertising can be used in the mobile simple payment service.

  • This paper investigates the capture of a 12U-sized CubeSat space object using a spider-web structure-based space net. The structural dynamics analysis program ABAQUS is used to simulate the shock-absorbing capability of the space net with a diagonal length of 2.828 m. The space object is modelled as a rigid body, and the space net is modelled using non-linear elastic beam elements. The simulations reveal that the spider-web structure-based space net outperforms the squared space net of the same structural weight in capturing the space object. The numerical simulations are conducted to examine the successful or unsuccessful captures of the space object in various cooperative and non-cooperative motions.

  • In this paper, authors focused on the difference between successful and unsuccessful items in terms of the innovation and imitation parameters of Bass diffusion model. Each item was scraped by members directly from the minihompies they visit. Top 50 items in terms of total number of adoption are classified as successful items and the 50 items whose total number of adoption was just below the average are classified as unsuccessful items. In particular, authors are interested in investigating the role of influentials in the diffusion process. Influentials are defined as those people whose network centrality (Indegree, Outdegree, and Betweeness centrality) was larger than the mean centrality in their social network. Figure 1 shows the plots of number of scraping, cumulative scraping, indegree, outdegree and betweenness of the people who scraped the most popular item among 100 items.
