In the Automation Environment of Factory and Production, the Implementation of Security-enhanced Mobile Device Management System using Android-based Smart Phones (공장 및 생산 자동화에 있어 안드로이드 기반의 보안성이 강화된 모바일장비관리시스템 구현)

  • Utilizing smart phones based on android applications in the field of FA(Factory Automation) or PA(Production Automation) is being deployed actively. In general, MDM(Mobile Device Management) is a crucial infra-structure to build such a FA or PA environment. In this paper, we suggest an open mobile device management platform and implement its prototype. The developed prototype consists of three modules such as DMS(Device Management Server), FUMO(Firmware Update Management Object) and SCOMO(Software Component Management Object). In addition, we suggest a security module based on the concept of the EAP (Extensible Authentication Protocol) and the AES (Advanced Encryption Standard). The suggested security module's prototype is applied to guarantee the data integrity in the process of communicating among DMS, FUMO and SCOMO for the purpose of utilizing smart phones based on android applications in a FA field. We also evaluate the performance of the implemented security prototype. According to our simulation results, the implemented prototype has a good performance in a FA environment and can be utilized in the other FA, PA or OA(Office Automation) environment with guaranteeing the security.

  • The performance of mobile devices and wireless networks is improved rapidly and Mobility management skills such as Mobile IP and ad-hoc technology were developed. So the requirement of processing the distributed computing is highly increased in any place and any time or in the state of movement. Therefore we studied the mobile grid system to process the distributed applications properly in wireless networks. In addition to typical computational resources, Mobile Grid brings new resources such as sensor, mobile devices or other wireless devices to distributed computing for the purpose of resource-sharing. In this paper, we design and implement the mobile grid system in wireless lan network environment for the providing the grid service. Also, we evaluate the performance of mobile grid system using the processing the distributed applications in implemented mobile grid environments.

  • The decentralized and open characteristic of the internet, along with the mobility and portability of mobile communication, and the interactivity of the internet and mobile communications all have been grafted to enable the creation of wireless internet in our lives, bringing about a lot of change. However, existing system management software solutions show limitations in time and space, as well as problems such as uncertain error messages, and also difficulty providing swift assistance or real time emergency support. Therefore, a wireless remote control system has been designed and implemented in this thesis, which is capable of managing and monitoring remote systems using mobile communication devices (Mobile Phone, PDA, Smart Phone, Webpad) for realtime control. The implemented real time wireless remote control system provides remote server management functions, error or event message functions, log record functions, authentication function via mobile devices and system performance evaluation function classified by client transaction.

  • In this paper, we propose an AR system which enables monitoring and managing of the operation process of the construction site. In case of the conventional construction managing system, a worker takes several images of the construction site and sends them directly to the supervisory headquarter, which manages the progress of the construction process and checks weather the construction is achieved according to the architectural design or not. Due to the nature of the offline process, the conventional management system has time and monetary constraints, and there exists a disadvantage that it is impossible to make quick decision-making and real-time communication with the work site. In order to minimize these disadvantages, we proposes an AR real-time construction monitoring/management system. In particular, we aim to developed a system based on mobile device so that it can maximize usability. The efficiency of the proposed system is verified through several experiments and implementation results.

  • Due to the continuing technical progress in the capabilities of modeling, simulation, and sensor devices, huge volume data with very high resolution are common. In scientific visualization, various interactive real-time techniques on high performance parallel computers to effectively render such large scale volume data sets have been proposed. In this paper, we present a mobile volume visualization system that consists of mobile clients, gateways, and parallel rendering servers. The mobile clients allow to explore the regions of interests adaptively in higher resolution level as well as specify rendering / viewing parameters interactively which are sent to parallel rendering server. The gateways play a role in managing requests / responses between mobile clients and parallel rendering servers for stable services. The parallel rendering servers visualize the specified sub-volume with rendering contexts from clients and then transfer the high quality final images back. This proposed system lets multi-users with PDA simultaneously share commonly interesting parts of huge volume, rendering contexts, and final images through CSCW(Computer Supported Cooperative Work) mode.

  • Miniaturization of equipments which have wireless network function and sensor have changed utilization method of computer in daily life, and have contributed to development for ubiquitous computing environment. In this paper, we design camera control system based wireless mobile and web-environmental through which nurse, doctor and family of patient can share and observe the information on condition of patient in hospital. Besides, this camera control system makes it possible to integrate diverse equipments of hospital into one system, and to conduct remote control function which can be applied to the patient control system. It is impossible to control shooting direction of camera apparatus in a remote area for observing patient in a hospital room through general web camera. So in this paper, we showed new design; we attached step motor which can rotate 360 degrees to web camera, and the step motor can operate through control board. Besides, we developed application for two environments, mobile and web-based environment, which enables us to offer proper efficiency in accordance with condition of observer through observation of control and collected image data.

  • The earthwork is a core process of all constructions, and compaction measurement of earthwork play an important role in improving productivity. The analog tests such as Plate Bearing Test and Sand-cone occupy current compaction measurement techniques. Due to advanced 4th Industrial Revolution, research on analog tests combined smart construction technology are actively conducted. DCPT (Dynamic Cone penetration Test), simpler and faster than conventional tests, has recently on rise. However, it is also an analog that measures data manually and has several disadvantages such as history management and data verification. The IoT-based DCPT system developed in this study combines digital wire sensors, mobile phones, and Bluetooth with conventional DCPT. Compare to conventional test methods, IoT-based DCPT has advantages such as performance time, single-person measurement, low cost, mobile-based management, and real-time data verification. In addition, a test bed was built to verify IoT-based DCPT. The test bed was built under similar conditions to the actual earthworks site through roller equipment. DCPT data obtained from 322 stations. As a result, IoT-based DCPT showed good performance, and the test bed was also showed stable results as the compaction was carried out.

  • This paper suggests a PDA-based scientific traffic accident investigation system in order to improve the reliability and accuracy of a traffic accident investigation procedure. In order to fulfill this objective, a standard accident sheet with 32 elements to be used in the PDA system was developed through a reference review and an expert survey. Using this information, the required functionalities and realization procedure of the PDA system for traffic accident investigation were presented including mobile network environment and GPS/GIS design. A prototype of PDA system is presented and more improved and efficientmanagement is highly expected by applying the system developed in this paper.

Implementation of Personalized Rehabilitation Exercise Mobile App based on Edge Computing

  • In this paper, we propose a mobile app for personalized rehabilitation exercise coaching and management service using an edge computing-based personalized exercise information collection system. The existing management method that relies on user input information has difficulty in examining the actual possibility of rehabilitation. In this paper, we implement an application that collects movement information along with body joint information through image information analysis based on edge computing at a remote location, measures the time and accuracy of the movement, and provides rehabilitation progress through correct posture information. In addition, in connection with the measurement equipment of the rehabilitation center, the health status can be managed, and the accuracy of exercise information and trend analysis information is provided. The results of this study will enable management and coaching according to self-rehabilitation exercises in a contactless environment.

  • As computer systems of high capacity and high performance recently emerged, various researches about GISs(Geographic Information Systems) have been in progress and many GIS applications have also been developed. From the domestic situation where many people are using mobile devices, because of the recent advances in the mobile technology, we can infer that the time will come when every individual will carry a mobile device with a GPS(Global Positioning System) module resulting from the development of a miniature GPS Module. Therefore, a mobile GIS that can allows users to deal with dynamic GIS data management and perform their tasks while moving will be required. This paper discusses the design and implementation of a mobile GIS using the shareware DBMS, called postgresSQL. The Mobile GIS in which a mobile concept is utilized at the GIS data server makes it possible to insert, delete, update GIS data, to zoom in and zoom out displayed maps, and to locate the user's position on the client device. Therefore, It is possible to manage dynamic GIS data in order to deal with GIS data on the maps while moving, connect various GIS data servers through the middleware, and connected with ITS (Intelligent Transport System) which is one of applications of the Mobile GIS developed in this paper.
