  • To provide intelligent service in mobile environment, it needs to estimate user's intention or requirement, through analyzing context information of end-users such as preference or behavior patterns. In this paper, we infer context information from uncertain log stored in mobile device. And we propose the inference method of end-user's behavior to match context information with service, and the proposed method is based on context-tree. We adopt bayesian probabilistic method to infer uncertain context information effectively, and the context-tree is constructed to utilize non-numerical context which is hard to handled with mathematical method. And we verify utility of proposed method by appling the method to intelligent phone book service.

  • Developing wireless internet service and mobile devices, mechanisms for web service across are various. However, the existing web infrastructure and content were designed for desktop computers and arc not well-suited for other types of accesses, e.g. PDA or mobile Phone that have less processing power and memory, small screens, limited input facilities, or network bandwidth etc. Thus, there is a growing need for transcoding techniques that provide that ability to browse the web through mobile devices. However, previous researches on existing web contents transcoding are service provider centric, which does not accurately reflect the user's continuously changing interest. In this paper, we presents a transcoding technique involved in making existing news contents based on XML available via customized wireless service, mobile phone.

  • In this paper, the $arccos(cos^{-1})$ arithmetic unit for mobile graphics accelerator is designed. The mobile vector graphics applications need tight area, execution time, power dissipation, and accuracy constraints compared to desktop PC applications. The designed processor adopts 2nd-order polynomial approximation scheme based on IEEE floating point data format to satisfy speed and accuracy conditions and reduces area via hardware sharing structure. The arccosine processor consists of 15,280 gates and its estimated operating frequency is about 125Mhz at operating condition of $0.35{\mu}m$ CMOS technology. Because the processor can execute arccosine function within 7 clock cycles, it has about 17 MOPS(million arccos operations per second) execution rate and can be applicable to mobile OpenVG processor. And because of its flexible architecture, it can be applicable to the various transcendental functions such as exponential, trigonometric and logarithmic functions via replacement of ROM and minor hardware modification.

  • In this paper, we provide interfaces according to user application environments and provide tools through web-site that users can create interface to apply a wide range of application environment. HTML5 is used in the creation processing, so users can create various interfaces by dragging mouse and apply it to multimedia, game applications as well as documents by using the ASCII code and key events that are provided in the Android OS. Database of interfaces is stored in HDFS (Hadoop Distributed File System) based on Hadoop for management and users can have their own designed interface or select interfaces through simple login any time. In order to provide interface quickly, HIVE based on Hadoop is used for search and the data is provided in XML file which smart mobile can process quickly.

  • Twitter has been continuously growing since October, 2006. Especially, not only the users and the number of messages have been increasing but also a new concept in social networking called 'micro blogging' has diffused. Within Korea, service such as 'me2day' has already been introduced and the improvement of internet accessibility within mobile devices is expected to expand the 'micro blogs'. In this point, this research is executed to study the new medium, 'micro blog'. To do so, we collected and analyzed Twitter logs of Korean users. Especially, we were curious about the extreme heavy users using Twitter, despite of the linguistic and cultural barrier of the foreign service. Who they are, why and how they use the 'micro blog'. First, we reviewed the general aspect of followers and messages by collecting a certain number of random samples. Using the Lorenz curve we found out that there was the imbalance within the users and based on this phenomenon we deducted an extreme heavy user group. In order to perform further analysis, log analysis was performed on the extreme heavy users. As the result, the users used multiple mobile and desktop 'Twitter' clients. The usage pattern was similar to that of internet usage time but was used during their "micro" time. The users using 'Twitter' not only to spread messages about important information, special events and emotions, but also as a habitual 'chatting tool' to express ordinary personal chats similar to SMS and IM services. In this research, it is proved that 68% of the total messages were ordinary personal chats. Also, with 24% of the total messages were retweets, we were able to find out that virtually connected 'people' and 'relationships' acted as the dominant trigger of their articulation.

  • Car-sharing services have been settled on as a new type of public transportation owing to their enhanced convenience, expanded awareness of practical consumption patterns, the inspiration for environmental conscientiousness, and the diffusion of smart phones following the economic crisis. With development of the market, many people have started using such services. However, security is still an issue. Damage is expected since IDs and passwords are required for log-in when renting and controlling the vehicles. The protocol suggested in this study uses bio-information, providing an optimized service, and convenient (but strong) authentication with various service-provider clouds registering car big data about users through brokers. If using the techniques suggested here, it is feasible to reduce the exposure of the bio-information, and to receive service from multiple service-provider clouds through one particular broker. In addition, the proposed protocol reduces public key operations and session key storage by 20% on mobile devices, compared to existing car-sharing platforms, and because it provides convenient, but strong, authentication (and therefore constitutes a secure channel), it is possible to proceed with secure communications. It is anticipated that the techniques suggested in this study will enhance secure communications and user convenience in the future car-sharing-service cloud environment.
