Two configurations of Film Bulk Acoustic Wave Resonators with acoustic quater-wave bragg reflector layers are theoretically analyzed using equivalent circuits and the difference of their characteristics are discussed. We compare the characteristics of λ/2 mode to those of ideal FBAR with top and bottom electrode contacting air and the characteristics of λ/4 mode to those of ideal FBAR with top electrode contacting air and bottom electrode clamped. We assume that the piezoelectric film is ZnO, the electrode is A1 and the substrate is Si, ABCD parameters are extracted and input impedance is calculated by converting the equivalent circuit from Mason equivalent circuits to the simplified equivalent circuits that ABCD parameters are extracted possible, From the variation of resonance frequency due to the change of thickness of reflector layers and the variation of electrical Q due to the change of mechanical Q of reflector layers, it is confirmed that the reflector layer just under the bottom electrode have the greatest effect on the varation of resonance frequency and electrical Q. It is shown that the number of reflector layers required for the saturation of electrical Q decreases with the increase of the impedance ratio of reflector layers and electrical Q of λ/2 mode is larger than that of λ/4 mode, Electromechanical coupling factor is independent of the number of layers, The impedance ratio of reflector layers becomes larger as the electromechanical coupling factor becomes larger, The electromechanical coupling factor of the two mode are smaller than those of ideal FBARs because of the trapping of acoustic energy in the reflector layers, The insertion loss of the ladder filter decreases with the increase of the number of reflector layers but the bandwidth is not affected much by the number of reflector layers, As the impedance ratio of reflector layers becomes larger the insertion loss becomes smaller and the bandwidth becomes wider, In our analysis of the two mode, characteristics of λ/2 mode appear to be slightly more favorable than that of λ/4 mode
The field of Image Quality Measure (IQM) is growing rapidly in recent years. In particular, there was a significant progress in No-Reference (NR) IQM methods. In this paper, a general-purpose NR IQM algorithm is proposed based on the statistical characteristics of natural images in shearlet domain. The method utilizes a set of distortion-sensitive features extracted from statistical properties of shearlet coefficients. A complex version of the shearlet transform is employed to take advantage of phase and amplitude features in quality estimation. Furthermore, since shearlet transform can analyze the images at multiple scales, the effect of distortion on across-scale dependencies of shearlet coefficients is explored for feature extraction. For quality prediction, the features are used to train image classification and quality prediction models using a Support Vector Machine (SVM). The experimental results show that the proposed NR IQM is highly correlated with human subjective assessment and outperforms several Full-Reference (FR) and state-of-art NR IQMs.

In this paper, we have designed the transmitter for earth station terminal operating with military geostationary satellite on Ka-band that is complied with MIL-STD-188-164A. The designed antenna of this terminal is dual-offset gregorian reflector which is consist of corrugated horn and iris polarizer, othermode transducer. This antenna meets radiation pattern and transmit EIRP spectral density requirements in this standard. The designed RF systems of this terminal are consist of Block Up Converter(BUC) converting frequency band from IF to Ka band and SSPA having low-power consumption and compact light-weight using the pHEMT MMIC compound devices. This RF systems applied with VSWR, spurious/harmonic suppression, output flatness and phase noise requirement in this standard.

This paper presents optimized searching technique to improve the performance of H.264/AVC. By using the proposed forward and backward searching algorithm, redundant cycles of latency for data reordering can be removed. Furthermore, in order to reduce the total number of execution cycles of CAVLC encoder, early termination mode and two stage pipelined architecture are proposed. The experimental result shows that the proposed architecture needs only 36.0 cycles on average for each $16{\times}16$ macroblock encoding. The proposed architecture improves the performance by 57.8% than that of previous designs. The proposed CAVLC encoder was implemented using Verilog HDL and synthesized with Magnachip $0.18{\mu}m$ standard cell library. The synthesis result shows that the gate count is about 17K with 125Mhz clock frequency.
Currently, H.264/AVC is used in many multimedia applications. Also, The MPEG-2 main profile which supports B pictures for bi-directional motion prediction is widely used in applications such as HDTV and DVD’s. Therefore, transcoding the MPEG-2 main profile to the H.264/AVC baseline is necessary for universal multimedia access. In this transcoding architecture including the GOP structure conversion, the proposed algorithms adopt the adaptive search range selection through the linearity test of a predictive motion vector and adaptive mode selection using the reference region complexity information. The proposed algorithms extremely reduce the computational complexity while maintaining the video quality.

An efficient fast response hysteretic buck converter suitable for mobile application is propoesed. The problems of large output ripple and difficulty in using of small power inductor that conventional hysteretic converter has are improved by adding ramp generator. and the changeable switching frequency with load current is fixed by adding a delay time control circuit composed of PLL structure resulting in decrease of EMI noise. The circuits are implemented by using BCDMOS 0.35um 2-polt 4-metal process. Measurement results show that the converter operates with a switching frequency of 1.85MHz when drives 80mA load current. As the converter drives over 170mA load current, the switching frequency is fixed on 2MHz. The converter has output ripple voltage of less 20mV and more than efficiency 85% with 50~500mA laod current condition.
In this paper, a discontinuous-conduction mode (DCM) DC-DC buck converter is presented for mobile device applications. The buck converter consists of compensator for stable operations, pulse-width modulation (PWM) logic, and power switches. In order to achieve small hardware form-factor, the number of off-chip components should be kept to be minimum, which can be realized with simple and efficient frequency compensation and digital soft start-up circuits. Burst-mode operation is included for preventing the efficiency from degrading under very light load condition. The DCM DC-DC buck converter is fabricated with 0.18-um BCDMOS process. Programmable output with external resistors is typically set to be 1.8V for the input voltage between 2.8 and 5.0V. With a switching frequency of 1MHz, measured maximum efficiency is 92.6% for a load current of 100mA.

Recently, the LED(Light Emitting Diode) replacing incandescent light bulbs and fluorescent light has great attentions as a most promising candidate for the next generation lighting source due to its environment-friendly characteristics, long life and excellent efficiency. Moreover, since it is a semiconductor device which can convert the electric energy to visible light at a very high speed, it can also used as a communication device. Therefore, the VLC(Visible Light Communication) using the LED can perform the near field communication and lighting function at the same time without additional expenses. However, since the switching device of the conventional LED driver for VLC is operated in the linear region, there exist several drawbacks such as a poor power conversion efficiency and serious heat generation. On the other hand, since the proposed driver is operated in the on/off switching region, it features a higher efficiency and more improved heat generation. To verify the validity of the proposed LED driver, experimental results from a prototype of 20W rated LED driver applied to 3MHz bps broadcasting audio system are given.

A time-frequency analysis method was developed to analyze the dispersive waves caused by impact loads in structural members such as beams and plates. Stress waves generated by ball drop and pencil lead break were recorded by ultrasonic transducers and acoustic emission (AE) sensors. Wavelet transform (WT) using Gabor function was employed to analyze the dispersive waves in the time-frequency domain, and then to find the arrival time of the waves as a function of frequency. The measured group velocities in the beam and the plate were compared with the predictions based on the Timoshenko beam theory and Rayleigh-Lamb frequency equations, respectively. The agreements were found to be very good.
This paper suggest away to maintain constant power through trolley wire by transferring increased line voltage to the AC main line while changing the mode from Converter(Forward) to Inverter(Reverse) when the line voltage is increased due to regenerative power when the train stops, This paper suggests a Double Converter DC substation that can create regenerative power when the train stops reusable. We also proposed using a simulation tool, the optimal Thyrister firing angle that can minimize the undershoot and overshoot that occurs when transferring the mode from Converter to Inverter for quality improvement of DC voltage in the Double Converter in the DC substation from the Busan Urban Subway.
