Mixed-Mode Simulations of Touch Screen Panel Driver with Capacitive Sensor using Modified Charge Pump Circuit (Charge pump 기반 정전 센싱 회로를 이용한 터치스크린 패널 드라이버의 혼성모드 회로 분석)

  • This paper introduces a touch screen panel driver using modified charge pump circuit. The touch screen panel driver is composed of an analog circuit part which senses a touch and a digital circuit which analyse the sensed signal. To verify the functions the touch screen panel driver, a mixed-mode circuit was built and simulated using Cadence Spectre. The digital circuits were modeled with Verilog-A in order to interface with the analog circuits and verify the functionalities of the driver with less simulation time. From the simulation results, we can verify the reliable operations of the simple structured touch screen panel driver which does not include an ADC.

  • A new converter to transfer energy from a low-voltage AC current source to a battery is proposed. It is focused to find operational modes of the converter. The low-voltage AC current source is an equivalent of the piezoelectric generator, which converts the mechanical energy to the electric energy. The converter consists of a full-bridge MOSFET rectifier and a MOSFET boost converter in order to make the converter small and efficient. The operational principle and modes of the converter are investigated with the consideration of effects of the parasitic capacitances of MOSFETs and diode. The results are proved with simulation studies using PSIM and Pspice.

Fast Bitrate Reduction Transcoding using Probability-Based Block Mode Determination in H.264 (확률 기반의 블록 모드 결정 기법을 이용한 H.264에서의 고속 비트율 감축 트랜스코딩)

  • In this paper, we propose a fast bitrate reduction transcoding method to convert a bitstream coded by H.264 into a lower bitrate H.264 bitstream. Block mode informations and motion vectors generated by H.264 decoder are used for probability-based block mode determination in the proposed transcoding method. And the motion vector reuse and motion vector refinement process are applied in the proposed transcoding. In the experiment results, the proposed methods achieves approximately 40 times improvement in computation complexity compared with the cascaded pixel domain transcoding, while the PSNR(Peak Signal to Noise Ratio) is degraded with only $0.1\~0.3$ dB.

  • This paper proposes a new control strategy of bidirectional uninterruptible power supply (UPS) with the performance of active power filter which compensates the harmonics and reactive power. With only one power stage, it is working simultaneously as the AC/DC rectifier/battery charger and DC/AC inverter to the operation of battery charging or back-up power supplying. Therefore the operation of the proposed system can be divided into the modes, such as the active power filter mode and the battery back-up power mode. And a novel closed-loop control strategy is used to calculate the reference current. The performance of the proposed 5[kVA] system is verified by the simulation and experimental results.

  • Empirical mode decomposition(EMD) method has been recently proposed to analyze non-linear and non-stationary data. This method allows the decomposition of one-dimensional signals into intrinsic mode functions(IMFs) and is used to calculate a meaningful multi-component instantaneous frequency. In this paper, it is assumed that each mode of damped vibration signal could be well separated in the form of IMF by EMD. In this case, we can have a new powerful method to calculate natural frequencies and dampings from damped vibration signal which usually has multiple modes. This proposed method has been verified by both simulation and experiment. The result by EMD method which has used only output vibration data is almost identical to the result by FRF method which has used both input and output data, thereby proving usefulness and accuracy of the proposed method.

  • Optimum Hamming apodized acousto-optic 2${\times}$2 add/drop multiplexers, using SiO$_2$ film loaded acoustic waveguide with angular offset to the Ti:LiNbO$_3$ waveguide, were fabricated. The four-port device consists of two input waveguides, a polarization beam splitter (PBS), two polarization conversion/acoustooptic tuning waveguide sections, a second PBS and two output waveguides. Insertion loss <7.1 ㏈ has been obtained and side-lobe of -19 ㏈ for -32 ㎽ RF driving power has been realized. Add/drop performance has been confirmed and a linear tuning rate of 8.1 nm/MHz and a 3 ㏈ spectral width of -1.5 nm were demonstrated.

카메라의 원근감을 적용한 케이블의 동특성 추출

  • 본 논문에서는 카메라의 원근감을 이용하여 케이블의 모드형상을 추출하는 과정을 제안한다. 제안 기법을 검증하기 위해 디지털 카메라와 캠코더를 이용하여 서로 다른 위치에서 동일 화면을 동시에 촬영하고, 촬영된 영상을 사진 변환프로그램을 통해서 초당 30프레임으로 영상이미지를 추출해 낸다. 추출된 좌.우 영상이미지의 영상좌표를 이용하여 케이블에 부착된 표적의 3차원 위치를 결정한다. 이때 디지털 카메라와 캠코더간의 위치 및 자세는 제안된 종속적 상호표정 방법을 통하여 결정한다. 결정된 케이블의 시간이력으로부터 고유진동수과 감쇠비는 다중 템플릿 매칭 알고리즘(multi-template matching algorithm)기법으로 추출하고, 모드형상은 TDD(Time Domain Decomposition)기법을 통하여 추출한다.

  • 본 논문에서는 스마트 그리드에 적용되는 2MVA 배터리 에너지 저장 시스템(BESS, Battery Energy Storage System)의 제어 알고리즘을 제안하고 검증하였다. BESS는 전력변환을 위한 PCS(Power Conditioning System), 배터리 제어 및 상태확인을 위한 BCS(Battery Conditioning System)와 상위 시스템으로부터 지령을 받아 PCS와 BCS를 제어하는 PMS(Power Management System)로 구성되어 있다. BESS는 풍력안정화를 위해 EMS(Energy Management System)의 지령을 받아 운전모드를 선택하고, 운전모드에 따라서 계통측 전력을 제어하거나 배터리측 전류를 제어하고, 배터리의 완전충전을 위해 전압제어를 한다.

  • Vibration modes obtained from a modal analysis can be better explained from a screw theoretical standpoint. A vibration mode can be geometrically interpreted as a pure rotation about the vibration center in a plane and as the twisting motion on a screw in a three dimensional space. This paper, presents the method to diagonalize a spatial stiffness matrix by use of a parallel axis congruence transformation. It also describes that the stiffness matrix diagonalized by a congruence transformation, can have the planes of symmetry depending on the location of the center of elasticity. For a plane of symmetry, any vibration mode can be expressed by the axis of vibration. Analytical solutions for the axis of vibration has been derived.

  • The TE-mode characteristics of scattering and reception by a flanged parallel-plate waveguide are examined. The technique of the Fourier transform is used to represent the scattered fields in the spectral domain. The simultaneous equations for the transmitted field coefficients are solved to obtain the solution in an asymptotic series form. The numerical computations are performed to illustrate the behaviors of the scattered field and the transmission coefficients versus the aperture size.
