  • This study considered Elementary school textbook and teacher's manual in Korea in terms of theories on counting. First we considered the meaning of counting in elementary school mathematics based on many preceding researches. And we compared textbooks in Korea with foreign textbooks in Singapore, China, USA. As a result, compared with Korea, these foreign textbooks reflect the theories on counting more actively. First of all, they consider counting to be an important basis for the four operations. Teacher's manual in Korea introduces the theories on counting, but the content was limited and thread was not clear. Based on these consideration, We discussed reflection of elementary school textbook in terms of theories on counting.

  • A product classification scheme is the foundation on which product databases are designed, and plays a central role in almost all aspects of management and use of product information. It needs to meet diverse user views to support efficient and convenient use of product information. It needs to be changed and evolved very often without breaking consistency in the cases of introduction of new products, extinction of existing products, class reorganization, and class specialization. It also needs to be merged and mapped with other classification schemes without information loss when B2B transactions occur. For these requirements, a classification scheme should be so dynamic that it takes in them within right time and cost. The existing classification schemes widely used today such as UNSPSC and eCl@ss, however, have a lot of limitations to meet these requirements for dynamic features of classification. Product information implies a plenty of semantics such as class attributes like material, time, place, etc., and integrity constraints. In this Paper, we analyze the dynamic features of product databases and the limitation of existing code based classification schemes, and describe the semantic classification model proposed in [1], which satisfies the requirements for dynamic features of product databases. It provides a means to explicitly and formally express more semantics for product classes and organizes class relationships into a graph.

  • Electronic catalogs (or e-catalogs) hold information about the goods and services offered or requested by the participants, and consequently, form the basis of an e-commerce transaction. Catalog management is complicated by a number of factors and product classification is at the core of these issues. Classification hierarchy is used for spend analysis, custom3 regulation, and product identification. Classification is the foundation on which product databases are designed, and plays a central role in almost all aspects of management and use of product information. However, product classification has received little formal treatment in terms of underlying model, operations, and semantics. We believe that the lack of a logical model for classification Introduces a number of problems not only for the classification itself but also for the product database in general. The existing classification schemes widely used today such as UNSPSC and eClass, however, have a lot of limitations to meet these requirements for dynamic features of classification. In this paper, we try to understand what it means to classify products and present how best to represent classification schemes so as to capture the semantics behind the classifications and facilitate mappings between them. Product information implies a plenty of semantics such as class attributes like material, time, place, etc., and integrity constraints. In this paper, we analyze the dynamic features of product databases and the limitation of existing code based classification schemes. And describe the semantic classification model, which satisfies the requirements for dynamic features oi product databases. It provides a means to explicitly and formally express more semantics for product classes and organizes class relationships into a graph. We believe the model proposed in this paper satisfies the requirements and challenges that have been raised by previous works.

  • The principle of repairing the architectural heritage in China was first presented by Liangsicheng of Society for Research in Chinese Architecture in the 1930s, and it was stated as "Restoration of Historic Condition or Preservation of Existing Condition" in 1961 in the "Provisional Regulations on the Protection and Management of Cultural Relics" after various repair experiences under the social and political background of the 1950s. Restoration of historic condition generally means restoration to original shape, and because architectural heritage was often repaired based on similar principle in Korea and Japan in the early and mid 20th century, it can be said that the restoration of historic condition was a universal and leading principle in this period in Northeast Asia. In China, however, the preservation of existing condition is equally specified along with the restoration of historic condition. When considering the leading trend of the time, it seems to be rather unexpected, which leads to questions about the formation process and meaning. The research on Liangsicheng, which first suggested the principle of repair, is very important, but there is a lack of three-dimensional analysis of his principles compared with active research on international principles in China. In order to understand the process of formation and its meaning of the principle of repair in China, we first need to analyze the principle proposed by Liangsicheng, and it is necessary to comprehensively examine how the principle have changed under the social background surrounding architectural heritage conservation after the founding of the People's Republic of China(PRC). In this paper, we first show that Liangsicheng has proposed a principle of restoration of historic condition with important values in the originality, and at the same time he opened the possibility of preservation of existing condition for the result of value judgment or realistic reason. In addition, we examine the process of equalizing preservation of existing condition with a restoration of historic condition as a realistic principle due to the influence of Soviet architectural heritage conservation system and Chinese economic development oriented policy after the founding of PRC.

  • The purpose of this study was to explore students' argumentation in perspectives of epistemology and psychology and to find out how teacher can promote students' abilities of developing argumentation. The 60 hours of lessons from the interaction between one science teacher (Mr. Physics, who had 35 years of teaching experience) and his 26 students were observed, transcribed, and analyzed using two different analyzing tools; one is from the perspective of epistemology and the other from the perspective of psychology, which can portray how argumentation is constructed. Mr. Physics created the environment where students could promote the quality of scientific argumentation through explicit teaching strategy, Claim-Evidence Approach. The low level of argumentation was portrayed through examples from students' prior knowledge or experience in the form of an Appeal to the instance operation and the Elaboration reasoning skill. Students' own claims were developed through application of knowledge in a different context in the form of an Induction operation and Generativity reasoning skill. Higher level of argumentation was portrayed through Consistency operation with other knowledge or experience and Explanation reasoning skills based on students' ideas with more active teacher's inputs. The teacher in this study played a role as a helper for students to enact identities as competent "sense makers," as an elaborator rather than evaluator to extend students' ideas, and as a mentor to foster and monitor the students' development of ideas of a higher quality. It is critical for teachers to understand the nature of argumentation, which in turn is connected to their explicit teaching strategy with the aim of providing opportunities where students can understand the science enterprise.

  • The existing active routing Protocols assume that the active network topology is static or pre-configured. However a dynamic mechanism to route an active Packet according to the network condition is required due to the dynamic characteristic of the active network. As active routing protocols, SLRP and TCOM500 PLAN project have been proposed, but since both of them are based on the assumption of the static topology we can not say that they are dynamic routing protocols in their entirety. Therefore, in this paper, we propose a new active network routing protocol, called AOSPF (Active Open Shortest Path First), which is compatible with the existing IP routing protocol. AOSPF is an extension of OSPF by adding a new LSA (Link State Advertisement) to allow the active network routing. The newly introduced LSA is used to specify whether the corresponding router is an active router or not. and one bit in the OPTION field of an LSA packet is used as the active router indication bit. This way of extending OSPF is similar to the scheme used in the extension of OSPF for multicast, i.e., MOSPF. In this paper, we will present the operation of AOSPF and the way how an active packet is forwarded based on the active network topology information constructed by AOSPF.
